Macadam Cow 1 Posted July 23, 2009 (edited) Hi, I would like to know if I was allowed to create a thread about a documentary I've seen last year about 9/11, it's called ZERO, investigation into 911. This documentary does not support the official version, Im not saying it shows the truth, Im not saying it is full of lies. I just think it's worth watching. I've been looking for a thread about 9/11 and I could only find this one which is now closed. Couldn't find any about this documentary. I know this is a very sensitive subject (that's why Im asking), I don't want to offense anyone but as I said I just think this documentary is worth watching. Thank you Edited July 23, 2009 by Macadam Cow
Placebo 29 Posted July 24, 2009 TBH I don't see the need for such a contentious issue to be discussed here, yes it's an Offtopic forum, but it doesn't necessarily mean that we could and should discuss everything, considering the strong emotions felt by both sides I think that something like that is best discussed on a more generalised forum than a gaming forum. Macadam Cow 1 Posted July 24, 2009 well...ok :icon_wink: IMO it's sad to avoid such a subject because it is full of strong emotions. Whatever the forum it seems it's impossible to talk about it and I'm wondering to who benefits this. Im not sure it's us. Which event in the history of the mankind was better to not be discussed ? But I perfectly understand you're point and I respect it, I wont create any thread. Thanks for your answer.
franze 196 Posted July 24, 2009 As Placebo said, even though it's the Offtopic forum, it doesn't mean anything goes. Just like we won't allow discussion about porn, etc. There are many other sites on the net that will allow you to discuss such issues; this forum is not one of them. Macadam Cow 1 Posted July 25, 2009 (edited) What ??? No porn ??? What about placebo's avatar ??? This picture turns a lot of people on  There are many other sites on the net that will allow you to discuss such issues; this forum is not one of them. Copy that EDIT : Is in-game porn allowed ? http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w312/lethalSakura/pervert.jpg (in-game pic) I know that's a completly different subject but this picture makes me wonder, where's the limit ? Would it be allowed to see 2 AIs having sex ? Edited July 25, 2009 by Macadam Cow
franze 196 Posted July 25, 2009 Placebo might be able to answer it better than I could, but I'll try to explain: In ArmA2's case, it is not blatantly obvious to the casual eye, and for that topic we make the assumption that there will be some racy items involved. Basically, two ArmA2 AI's trying to make a baby would violate the rules. Showing off a naked model is running a fine line, so it would depend on the context. For example, we make the assumption that certain parts of anatomy are simple biological diversity - the udders on a cow, beard on a turkey, etc. - so as long as the intent is NOT to glorify pornography, then maybe we might make an exception. As per usual, contact a moderator via PM if you want to know if a specific image or content might break the rules. Bear in mind that this forum is visited by people of all ages, which is part of why we have these rules in place.
JdB 151 Posted August 2, 2009 http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=71270&page=105 Right now, a vote in a poll bumps the thread back up to the top. IIRC, this was not the case on the old forums. Is there a possibility to set this "feature" like it used to be (off)?

Placebo 29 Posted August 2, 2009 Not right now, I re-enabled it to solve the Freetrack poll non commenting issue as I couldn't be bothered to keep bumping it myself.
JdB 151 Posted August 2, 2009 Not right now, I re-enabled it to solve the Freetrack poll non commenting issue as I couldn't be bothered to keep bumping it myself. Wouldn't making it sticky achieve the same result? (yes, I am aware that mysteriously enough, most people seem to be unable to see stickied threads)
Placebo 29 Posted August 3, 2009 Wouldn't making it sticky achieve the same result? (yes, I am aware that mysteriously enough, most people seem to be unable to see stickied threads) And then everyone will act like it's some officially sanctioned BIS research thread, which it's not, the poll is merely there as a courtesy to the Freetrack community who whilst pursuing noble pursuits are unfortunately dogged by a small percentage of supporters who're trollistic morons. Taurus 20 Posted August 3, 2009 EDIT : Is in-game porn allowed ? http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w312/lethalSakura/pervert.jpg (in-game pic) Shopped! About the forum. The merged threads from the old forums seems to have issues with code blocks. Now I mean the really old threads which someone might find interesting to look at for reference It looks like this. <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">

echo1 0 Posted August 8, 2009 When a user gets banned, their posts don't get deleted, until there is specific reason to delete the posts in question. As for how you get banned - you get banned for repeatedly breaking the rules.
riffleman 20 Posted August 8, 2009 you mean to say that post can be used or recorded for other user use.there is also a possibility of lifetime ban.
echo1 0 Posted August 8, 2009 What do you mean? Once you post something on the board, it stays there unless there's some specific reason to remove it (ie. it was spam, or something like porn or links to pirated software or whatever) And yes, there are lifetime bans. Why ask?

echo1 0 Posted August 9, 2009 (edited) After the ten gazillionth "Will this game run on my new Core i7? I'd rather keep bumping this thread than download the demo for myself" post on the "Will this game run on my PC" thread, I think said thread has outlived its usefulness. I think should be merged with the "real" PC thread for posterity, but I don't think there's much point in having the two anymore now that the demo. and indeed the game, is out. Placebo 29 Posted August 9, 2009 We're still getting new threads created asking questions that fit into the pinned thread in general, people will post even more new threads if there's only the one in OT, we need both, unfortunately.
