War Outcome

On the website it says your actions will decide whichever faction you want to win.. well arent the USMC there to help the Chernarussian government so that is kind of a contradicting statement is it not?

Well anyway what faction(s) are you going to side with?

For me I will probbaly side with NAPA and ill play nice with the ChDZK every once and awhile because I always side with the weaker less equiped forces.

From what I know there will be around 4 different endings.

They say on the website it will be a player-driven story ; my guesses are that if you fail to some actions, if you can't realize objectives because of your bad acts against civilians, at the end depending on how you play, a faction can win or lose, it doesn't mean you'll play the side you want and can make win any one you join/work with wink_o.gif

We are going to be USMC Team Razor where we'll be able to skip between members ; from now, don't kill too many civilians... NAPA will have you on sight help.gif

Yeah if you get NAPA on ther nerves, i think they could place them IEDs on a totally different mission not connected to the Napa. So i think their influence is big enough to make you loading your savegame biggrin_o.gif

support NAPA! join the Wolverines! (link in sig)

Quote[/b] ]„We have to show common citizens that our actions are focused on rooting out the evil, not on punishing anyone based on their nationality. Disarm the ordinary armed men, but eliminate all commissars, commanders and functionaries ruthlessly.“

- Soldier's Handbook, allegedly by Prizrak, supreme warlord of NAPA

As you can see. NAPA are the good ones :O just believe them and all will be good

Would be very interesting to see all different endings. Maybe one or two will be continued in another addon/bigpatch?

Napa is imho only a militia group with nationalistic and pathetic swearing and all this bs.

Guess that CDF and ChDKZ should play a main role beside peacekeeping Russia and USMC. Could be nice to play as civilian and confuse all other factions only to win the conflict/war. tounge2.gifbiggrin_o.gif

Hi all

The results of wars are complex. Invading Iraq placed a pro Iranian Shia party in power. Was that Cheney's intention?

If you start hunting down NAPA will you cause problems with the Chernarus population and government, might the people you kill be the brothers and sisters of your erstwhile allies?

Might the NAPA faction be a great allie with superior knowledge of the terrain and a strong esprit de corps OR might they be a bunch of mafia thugs who torture their prisoners and turn on and kidnap their allies for a fast buck, and have a mob mentality in battle where they kill 30 civilians for 1 enemy?

Yeah that is all about the campaign. Campaign is "non-linear freeform play" so you are in charge of how it will develop. Shoot civilians and you will get more enemies probably.

The campaign is to me extremely interesting this time around. I didnt play the ArmA one for very long. Wasnt anything there to care for. AA2's i cant wait for. And to do it with 3 of my best buddies over the net - woot!

Oh and i almost forgot. Campaign have "multiple endings" - so there is no saying who will win. Depends how good you play.

1 possible ending could be your death. so you can finish the campaign in one mission smile_o.gif

Hi all

That is how I finished BIS's OFP in the Demo for the first few weeks.

Then I learned to stop blasting away in the open, CS and the rest have got a lot to answer for, it is all crawl, shoot something, run away, crawl again etc. now.

Death is always an option in the Real Virtuality engine.

Kind Regards walker

i hope some choices don't lead to dead ends, like in Resistance when you report the position to Guba and he has you killed after

I wouldn't know who would win the war, but I'm pretty certain the civvies are going to lose it, as civvies usually do...

Hell no! Civilians shall not bow! Strength in numbers! For the people!

"Quantity has a quality all of it's own!" - Joseph Stalin(a nutter, but he did say something sensible occasionally biggrin_o.gif )

Anyway, in True Crime you had multiple endings too. They all led to the death of the bad guy I think, but in one the main character would be commended for his heroism and good service, in another there was the emphasis how much the victory had cost, the other was "well the problem was solved, but you screwed up big time" etc. Maybe it'll be a bit like that?

Awh I can't wait. huh.gif

Quote[/b] ]ArmA 2 features a player-driven, branching campaign. Your actions have consequences! Win the hearts and minds of the warring factions inside Chernarus, or play them off against one another! Your choices will shape the future country. Ultimately, you decide which faction (if any) survives to rule. Will you establish a lasting peace, or kick off a final war?

From the ArmA2 official page.

All this info trickling about the campaign makes me feel so giggidy, hell it was part of the reason that made me start posting on this forums again.Having been one of the most ferocious criticizers of the Arma campaig and emphasised with every opportunity the importance of the single player experience when Marke Spanel says things like "We are aiming for the Operation Flashpoint depth" "We weren't very enthusiastic about Arma but this time it will be different" I feel like good times are coming in 2009 for us Opflash veterans who back in 2001 didn't even have Internet to begin with- it was all sp for us baby  xmas_o.gif

Oh and I'll decide which side I'm going to help only after finding out every possible information about them and carefully analyising the pros and cons of helping each one..

Note the end of the trailer. You have blurred vision and someone is talking to you. Who knows, maybe you have the chance to go rouge and turn or something like that (Lets not forget the twist at the end of Arma with the RACS/SLA. Maybe they'll make an even bigger turning point...). Anyway, I'm definitely interested to see how they do it.

Propaganda! We all know what really happened. Damned RACS trying to cover up their genocidal tendencies by blaming it on the peaceful socialist north. mad_o.gif

According the voice file in .pbo, RACS would demand you turn out those civilians.

Not sure why the level ends before this scene happens...
