Latest ArmA2 & ArmA2:OA Press Coverage | NO discussion here!

That Eurogamer article coined an excellent phrase: Miserablist.

I love it. The article on the whole was nice too. :D

As for Amazon.de, wow! Arma2 at #1 of first person shooters, ahead of Far Cry 2 and Left 4 Dead! :butbut:

Nice article, if a little short. Still, I'm sure the review will be more in-depth about the unique advantages ARMA2 has over most games.

Agreed, hopefully some reviews will be coming out soon. Unfortunately, they'll probably all be in German. Fortunately, someone will probably translate them.

in a way i'm sad ARMA2 has become a history-making game as it will attract a lot of newbies to ARMA and possibly cheaters etc etc. although i'm still proud of BI for making such an amazing game.

I always found the ARMA/OFP (or OPF (whichever suits you best)) to have a cozy community which always gave up a lot of their free time to help hammer the game into shape and as teh community expands i have a fear that it will become a community which takes more than it gives :(

Back on topic,

SASrecon: As long as you play on closed servers, or servers running addons, the amount of cheaters should be minimal.

We have been running RPG servers for a while, and the problem with cheaters and random noobs almost disappeared when we started to use addons (that could be downloaded at our site).

The player-base got smaller and more stable, and as a result, much better games could be had.

Most likely because the post about it was drowned out by a wave of pointless posts.

#1: That "wave of pointless posts" is called a discussion. What point did your post have, by the way?

#2: Anyone who wishes to post a link can easily search the forum to see if it has been posted before. In this case, searching for "characters_en.html" turns up a whole bunch of posts. :)

They also forgot to make a news at the official website.. if you don't look at the menu you don't see now it's there.

I wounder when "support", "guerrila" and "attack" is going to be declassified.

I know that "attack" links to BIS, but if you click on the "attack" button, it goes into a classified page.

Maybe we see somthing this week, before the german realese... Or maybe the germans dont need support hehe:-D

I'm glad to hear that the anims have been improved so that cqc is more enjoyable. That's really what made playin' pvp in ofp alot more enjoyable because you could maneuver around faster. I'll find out on friday for sure when i grab my copy.

new here btw, but not to the ofp/arma series.

Where are the reviews? The German version is released in a few days, right? Shouldnt we have reviews at this point or atleast some gameplay footages from the done version?

Reviews are allowed to get public earliest from friday onwards, we were told. But believe me, it's worth waiting - even for the german version ;)

Well, this version is 100%, right? Just in German.

So that means we probably get some reviews this Friday?

From what I've gathered from the Twitter info and a recent post by Suma on the forums here, the german version will be missing some secondary features, such as infinite terrain. As is the case with the terrain, those missing features will probably have simple placeholders until they are included in a patch.

So you might say the german version is more like 99%. :)

I hope so too. We still haven't seen any footage with the new voices. :(

I guess Friday will bring answers.

German Editor of Arma.de "FlickFlack" reported some Minutes ago that he got "Answer from BIS" about some Question about the German release:

- Around the 29th or some few days Later they will release a Patch alone for the German Version which Brings the Game on the same level as Goldmaster International (i assume 505, etc.).

- German Version is 1.0, international Goldmaster-Version will be 1.01 or 1.02 (still open i guess).

- As soon as the game was released in EVERY Country on the World, there will be a Patch uniting all these Versions.

- But before that happens, there will be different Patches for different Versions if necessary.

- To shorten time for the international release, they prepare the Demo within this and next Week and we should all be patient.
