Doolittle 0 Posted October 16, 2008 If you do add a lifting script could you make it be able to lift "isKindOf" stuff and not a specific type.. meaning if I have an M113 made by Vilas, it would be great if I could lift that. So maybe if the script scans around for anything isKindOf "M113".. Â
[frl]myke 14 Posted October 16, 2008 The hitching script is an adaption of Mandobles mando_hitch. The final pack will contain the CH-47 i'm currently working on but also the UH-60 cargolifter which i have already released. The reason for making a single pack of it is because it will be a "all-in-one" solution. Both Choppers will be able to lift up stuff but heavy cargo (like everything thats armoured or planes) is restricted to the CH-47 only. Mainly it works with baseclasses so in example any vehicle that inherits from class "Tank" will be considered Heavy Cargo. So it will also work with any addons available as highest baseclasses are taken to define. So yes, no matter which addons you use, you'll be able to lift everything as long as you use the correct chopper.

Col. Faulkner 0 Posted October 16, 2008 The textures are taken from the RAF Chinook release by Smiley_Nick, Afrographx & Peloton. As i read it here, the textures were made by AfrographX (which gave his permission for this modification). Did "Afrographix" make the Chinook for the OFP Falklands mod? Stewy 1 Posted October 17, 2008 Hi Myke, I finally got to do some testing on AI insertions- sorry for the delay, work was nuts! On your version of the Chinook, AI men don't get caught on the tailgate as they exit the chopper (and then fall to their deaths when they free themselves) But the Chinook does hover quite high during the insertion - and on a majority of tests on Rahmadi - the AI troops would injure themselves because the Chinook was hovering too high. Is there a config adjust that makes the Chinook land or hover much lower when the AI disembark? Thanks mate - also, probably mentioned before, but the AI 'seating' in the back of the helicopter is a bit low and the troops have their feet pushing through the floor, etc... Cheers Myke, good luck with the project mate - I've watched the Youtube video a thousand times! Am a big fan! Stew
[frl]myke 14 Posted October 17, 2008 Thanks for the heads-up, Stewy. About the hovering height, i guess this would be done in the model itself as for now it isn't centered. I guess centering the model will fix this issue. And the problem with Passengers feets goin through the bottom is known. This will be part of fine tune but i didn't reached that point yet. But be assured this is on my todo-list. And finally, you don't have to be sorry, at least you aren't my own personal betatester. Thanks again for the comments. [frl]myke 14 Posted January 12, 2009 @PSYCHOSIM It is not RL issue, more comm related. But i'm not pointing with fingers. @Q I'm affraid it is. But not only this one, just was the final nail (or however it can be described) to fix my decision. Also retiring all work i've ever done as good as possible. [aps]gnat 28 Posted January 13, 2009 Seems to be a bunch of addon makers on the verge of (or already have) throwing the towel in All I can say as I've said to at least one on PM .... please take a small break, count to 10 and the problems won't be so bad then (I hope) ..... We can't afford to loose good people from the limited numbers we have. Myke, hope things change
NoRailgunner 0 Posted January 13, 2009 Damn what happen that you like to disappear? Again some guys with no respect and education? Sorry to hear that and hope you will unfix your decision. "Not pointing with fingers" will make those people feel more comfortable and save doing again what they've done or said. Dont honor them. A tree must be bent while it is young. landdon 0 Posted January 13, 2009 It's a down right shame, it always seems that the many have to pay for the foul ups of the few. Â I hope you will change your mind, I certainly understand your view point. Â But remember thier are a lot of us that like or love your work. Â I'm glad I got most of your addons before the different depositories terminated the links to them, the sign addon is a most handy application, I love the Medic and Cargo Lift UH-60 helicopters. Â I didn't get the chance to use the others as of yet, and now that will be impossible. Â The C-47 looked like it was going to be the crown jewel of the C-47 stable. Â I really hope you will reconsider, I am positive there is more individuals that like your work and truely appreciate it. Â It's such a waste.
