manzilla 1 Posted October 9, 2008 Yeah! I've been waiting for these. Thanks to you Afro. One question, what's the createvehicle command all about. I checked around about the info but I'm still not to sure how to use it.
straubinger82 3 Posted October 9, 2008 Very cool! Someone fullfilled my wish with a plain chopper, ready for civil operations. Thank you very much
[frl]myke 14 Posted October 9, 2008 Thanks for the feedback. @Manzilla Quote[/b] ]One question, what's the createvehicle command all about. I checked around about the info but I'm still not to sure how to use it. I guess you know how to use the createvehicle command. There's one more chopper in the pack which isn't accessible in the Editor. But you can create it with createvehicle. You just have to find out it's classname. The special thing is it's color. So you might guess it's correct classname, based on the classnames of the other four choppers. Â :EDIT: Quote[/b] ]Someone fullfilled my wish with a plain chopper, ready for civil operations. There's a plan to add hiddenselections on the sides so missionmakers may add own markings and flags, fitting the mission scenario.

Hey, that sounds extremly porno. Now I just have to look what these damn hidden selections exactly are, and how they work^^. I think the cockpitview in your chopper isn´t that bad. But the wheels I would love to be able to pull them in. Are there plans for that.. cause the modell looks like... Keep up the good work..
[frl]myke 14 Posted October 9, 2008 @Straubinger82 Hiddenselections are faces on the model that can be textured ingame by using setObjectTexture command. I will provide some basic markings which can be replaced this way if needed. So as the grey variant may have the text "MARINES" on the side but your mission design would prefer something more civil, you may create a simple texture and write "SAHRANI TOURS" on it. The simply use setObjectTexture to apply this new texture on the chopper. There will be exact instructions in the readme about this feature as soon it is implemented. :EDIT: Quote[/b] ]But the wheels I would love to be able to pull them in. Are there plans for that.. cause the modell looks like... AFAIK the CH-47 doesn't have a retractable gear, so no, there are no plans to make them retractable. ArmaVidz 0 Posted October 10, 2008 Cool stuff, can't wait to try it out when I get some free time
straubinger82 3 Posted October 10, 2008 Thank you very much for your detailed information. I guessed the hidden selections are something like you explained. When I have changed a flag, I think it worked way the same. Sry, didn´t know that the wheels aren´t retractable at all... So keeping it authenthic will be the best dicision.. but maybe we can get a few miles more per hour^^ caused through better windflow. (vry sry 4 my english). It´s so nice adding some civil evacuation to all my little chaotic missions^^. Thank you again for your afford.

hailstorm 4 Posted October 11, 2008 nice bit of editing on these birds - the new maneuverability caught me by surprise. your special chinook is definitely 'interesting'; the whole time, i was expecting a nice, Civilian paint job or something... all i can say is... "argh, my eyes!"

Stewy 1 Posted October 15, 2008 G'day Myke, Would you ever consider 'chopping' the back tailgate off - or allowing it to open a bit further? I love the Chinook, but on Afro's model, the last AI man when inserting always gets 'stuck' on the back tailgate. He only leaves the chopper when it is up in the air (and sadly dies as a result) Does this happen to anyone else? Cheers Myke Stew
Namikaze 0 Posted October 15, 2008 That is indeed a very sweet bird. My only question: does it sound like the passenger door opening/closing sounds are a bit "wooden"? Seems like they are creaking the way wood would creak for some reason.
[frl]myke 14 Posted October 15, 2008 @Stewy didn't tested it yet with full load but as you point me to that, i'll take a closer look on this. Was this a behaviour you've seen with AfrographX original model or with my edited version already? @Namikaze Quote[/b] ]My only question: does it sound like the passenger door opening/closing sounds are a bit "wooden"? Well, it was a sample from an old elevator, but now as you say it really sounds a little wooden. I'll see if i find a better soundsample. Wasn't 100% happy with it either. Thanks for kicking my a$$, literally.

Col. Faulkner 0 Posted October 16, 2008 Where did the cockpit textures come from? The cockpit is from an RAF HC.1 from the Falklands War. The radio call label reads "Bravo November". ZA718 "Bravo November" was one of only two helis to survive the sinking of Atlantic Conveyor.
[frl]myke 14 Posted October 16, 2008 The textures are taken from the RAF Chinook release by Smiley_Nick, Afrographx & Peloton. As i read it here, the textures were made by AfrographX (which gave his permission for this modification). However, now by re-reading i realize that i have to contact the Spanish Mod Team as some parts (rvmats mainly) are closely based on theyr work. We don't have any attention to take credits for other peoples work.
