SLX MOD public release

I HATE the animations of moving...

Well... this mod got its good sides such as [let's say] worse sides.

I LOVE inlove.gif The wounding system, dying animations!!, screaming, bleeding...and... !!Dragging wounded!!! w00t!

Because of my low-end pc, I would like to please for a version of Standalone wounding system with dying animations and dragging woundeds. Why? Because this is maestro work.

Overall, it's fu*king great but with some mistakes/bugs, but its nothing serious I hope.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned but the only problem I'm having is the M119 when you fire the recoil is such that you'd take out a division of your guys in the back of you. LMAO I love the mod though been playing slx for last 1.5 years .......... I thought originally I was shot with a rpg then I switched to an outside view

Does anyone might extrapolate the SLX's magazine stuff as a standalone addon to extended it also at others modded weaponpacks?

I think it's very annoyn' to see magazines disappear as magic.

I just had a surprise. I saw something flaming on a hillside. It even made a popping noise as it burned. I figured it was a parachuting pilot that received the special attention of a Shilka.

As I approached, I saw something rolling down the side of the hill. I thought it was a rock, at first. Upon closer inspection, I realized it must have been the pilot's head!

Hi, I use Robert Hammer's M4/M16, Robert Hammer's AKs Weapon Pack & Robert Hammer's RH Pistol pack , Rebus Italian Weapons and the Custom V-War! Infantry Weapon Replacements

Main files used:

     rh_aks.pbo [signed]

     rh_m4.pbo [signed]

     rh_de.pbo (optional) [signed

     REBUS_EIweapons.pbo

Add on files used:

     weapon_replacement_ak.pbo [signed]

     weapon_replacement_m4m16.pbo [signed]

     weapon_replacement_mg.pbo [signed]

     weapon_replacement_pistols.pbo [signed]

     weapon_replacement_smg.pbo [signed]

I use the complete SLX-mod, incl. SLX-vehicles, and the ECS mod.

The weapon replacement does not work for most weapons.

I find out that SLX weapons overrides the weapon replacement. I tried different loading orders but this does'nt help. Disabling the weapon pbo's gives me missing file errors.

Does anyone know which SLX-pbo to modify in order to get this to work (without missing file errors) properly and keeping

the other SLX weapon features / effects?

Please advise.

I love what SLX does but I am not going to use it because of the weapon and bullet sounds. The sounds are not good and when I try to add a sound mod to SLX things go weird.

I would like a "keep what you want" version though.

Would that be possible?

I mean a version where you can easily remove the functions you don't like and keep the rest without creating conflicts or errors.

In fact all damn mods should be like that. I am serious.

Hello.

I do really love alot of functions in this mod, but as said above, I would like to change/disable a few things, and my question is if it's possible at all?

One thing is that's disturbing me is that I can't run "with my buddies". I mean, when they run as they usually do (not aiming weapon/walking) I can't really follow em'. I've got to choose from being just a little bit slower (aiming weapon while moving/running slowly) or run prone, like if I was taking fire. OR, doubletap "W" to sprint and run faster. I still want to be able to run the regular vanilla running animation. Or maybe you already are but I missed it?

Also, in future, I might want to make units just slightly slower. I'm talking about going prone, "walkrun" and so on.

Sorry for the bad english but I seriously have no idea what the "Walking with weapon raised" is called.

If you remove the bin folder you'll get back your default running. Of course you'll get some messages pop up once in awhile (like tracer impact things cant be found) but just click OK and go on with the game.

It's a public release, nowhere does it says it's in a finished, final state nor does it say it's a beta.

Solus is just one man and he did his best to release it a bug-free as he could... I've been beta-testing this mod for over a year with many others and almost every entry in the bugtracker was resolved before the release.

The reason it's not released as a final version is because of the scale of both patch and arma itself, you can use it for al types of gameplay which none of the testers would've tried.

Solus should get back at the mod ones he is able to again, please be happy you got it now instead of waiting for who knows how long; Solus thought he would be offline for no more than a month, it's been two now allready and it doesn't seem he will regain total acces any time soon.

Question: I don't know much about mods and what you are allowed to do and not to do. I love the mod, I really do, but I'm not very happy about the movement. Is it possible at all, or even "allowed" to try to change that in the config or whatever?

Maybe it is, but I'll guess there is no way that you can learn about it from here.

Maybe too complicated aswell.

Anyways, thanks for a wonderful mod.

(Sorry for my whining. I guess it's a "get use to" thing. But IF it is changeable, I would like to change it)

Ive just tried this for the first time!

And its F*cking AMAZING! I love it! Its very nice, its incredible!

I tested this on the Afghanistan island. I sat on a hilltop 2230 meters from the target and was pasting it with the LLW mortar.

Then I saw the enemy get into a freaking car and drive towards me. I got a little confused because thats the first time Ive seen

that. Then I realised I parked a BMP there aswell. wow_o.gif SHiiit, so

I actually had to run my arse off for 3000mtr to get some sort of AT system. Amazing, simply amazing what the AI does by themselves. < They had no waypoints and figured stuff out by themselves! I mean thats f34895ng wow_o.gifwow_o.gifwow_o.gif

Allthough I couldnt get enemy soldiers to blow to pieces. Tried with various heavy explosive devices. But couldnt get it to work.

Anyway, all the extra stuff is BRILLIANT! The best addon since Ive played this game! < Perhaps with OFP included.

The stuff the AI did... Im completly amazed by that! I mean I had to RUN away, well luckily I had a "4x4" parked nearby. But the AI didnt have any waypoint to get me. help.gif

You are allowed to take and change anything you like of this mod!

When taking something you should properly credit Solus offcourse

About changing movement, I have no idea how to change that in an easy way, nor in an extremely difficult way though.

just create folder "disable" and move to it any pbo_file which name does not arrange for you

(like slx_anims.pbo// or another.... test by youself)

Wow, ArmA suddenly comes alive with SLX!

Woundings, dragging casualties.. even an increase on the original 8 GL rounds (took me a while to work that one out!wink_o.gif

have only two problems (hope its only two):

no entry '@SLX\bin\config.cpp/CFGVehicles/M1Abrams/Turrets/MainTurret/Turreets/CommanderOptics/ViewGunner.initAngleY'

when selecting armour in the editor or at startup

and when using certain 3rd party weapons (most noticably swiss mod ones) I get a hazy cylinder forward of sights (usually aimpoints) that shows up whenever out of direct sunlight.

I'm running slx as a mod foolder to Queen's Gambit, plus OFrp and my own mods, on ArmA 1.14.

any thoughts?

Hey I'm new here.

Anyway, I don't know what happened to my SLX mod but I can't play the game everytime I add a unit with Rocket launcher kind of weapon on them.

An error like missing M136 config something like that.

Any idea?

Nah you didn't Para. I almost banned Vultar for some rather rude postings on IMWMod.com. Whether it is poor english or a perpensity to be antagonistic, his comments come across that way alot of the time. Either way, his comments "need work."

So be the bigger man and don't reply. Supposing he really did start it, why keep it going? Think about Paragraphic1, he's been incredible with consistently replying to everyone's posts. He's doing us a huge service by taking the time to run this thread for Solus. Ultimately, it's his time lost.... And that just doesn't seem fair.

Question to any/everyone:

I've seen that others have mentioned a few error messages with v1.14. Do they still pop up? I had some sort of config error appear on the main menu the very first time I started SLX with v1.14. The same goes for the first time I previewed a mission in the editor using v1.14.

But that was it. Just the first time I loaded up SLX + v1.14. Since then, I haven't seen even 1 error message pop up in game. I didn't add/remove/edit anything in between the first v1.14+SLX fire up and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th there after.

I don't recall ever having an in-game error just disappear with out changing anything, but that's just me. Has this happened to anyone else? Or am I completely imagining things?

the v1.14 error I'm getting appears every time I start ArmA, and again every first time I open the armour tab in editor. Then it disappears until I shut down, beforre popping up next time I start.

If you've managed to get away with it all I can say is you're one lucky guy, cos it's irritating the hell out of me!
