Chip360 0 Posted March 22, 2008 Say, do you or anyone else have some good reference photos of the stryker? I have come to the stage where I am texturing all of the bolts on the body and I need a good picture from a top angle of it so I can see exactly where all the bolts are on the Hatch. Messiah 2 Posted March 22, 2008 if you need reference, this is always the first place to search: http://www.primeportal.net/apc/stryker.htm primeportal is possibly one of the best reference sites around.

Chip360 0 Posted March 22, 2008 Thanks Messiah, this will help a lot. Ryukin, looking great so far. Edit: Quick Q, Ryukin, will the Stryker texture be based off of the default Stryker texture in-game with a seperate texture for the Stryker? If so my own retextures (which are comming along smoothly atm) would be compatible with your slat-armor variants of the stryker as well. Just a thought, seeing as I'll be probably using your strykers all the time I was curious as to wether or not I would be able to use my "realistic Iraq" textures with them? (In addition to whatever textures you can come up with of course too, the more the merrier right? : ])
Ryujin 0 Posted March 22, 2008 That might not be a bad idea, to make them a package deal, It would save me some time. I was thinking of making them separate, but because the BIS default texture is so unrealistic, I wouldn't mind having them overwritten. If you feel up to it, I could use a hand with texturing the new stuff, everything goes faster if I just model.
usmc123 1 Posted March 22, 2008 Can you also make an AAV later
Ryujin 0 Posted March 22, 2008 I think the full stryker family is enough to worry about for now, I won't speculate on what I'll do next. Also does anyone know if you can cut in O2? Like make an object, place it in a surface and cut, so that a hole the size of the object is there?

I have only done one retexture in the past for Armed Assault, so I am vastly inexperienced, but I will certainly give it a go. I'm just about done with some of the various hatches and stuff and I will put up a Wip of my texture soon so you can see if you like it.

DaSquade 0 Posted March 23, 2008 Quote[/b] ]Also does anyone know if you can cut in O2? Like make an object, place it in a surface and cut, so that a hole the size of the object is there? Not possible. New O2 brought us our extrude tool... maybe next O2 (ArmA2) will hopefully bring subtract tool. ->Untill then you will need to manually create your intersections or use a 3d program that has the tool. Ryujin 0 Posted March 23, 2008 Basic models of the ICVs are pretty much done, except for some tweaking and I'll come back to em to do advanced features like hatches. RV is next, then FSV. A few more screens of the fairly optimized clutter:
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted March 23, 2008 Looking great mate, I always hoped this would appear. Well done, I hope you get this finished. Can't wait to throw some 1ID blokes in them (despite the fact the 1ID has no Stryker brigades, heheh).
Chip360 0 Posted March 23, 2008 For all of you worying about performance, it runs totally fine on my system (Ati X800 Xl and an AMD 4200+) with 7 units in a convoy, so stop worying about it. @TankbusterSPAFF: Currently the focus on interior textures is minimal and a low-priority, however neither myself nor Ryujin will be overlooking them, he is doing a lot of work to add certain models and things to the interiors and after we are done texturing the series I may look to improving internal textures. As for driving dynamics that is not my cup of tea, so I couldnt answer that one (maybe Ryujin).
Tankbuster 1746 Posted March 23, 2008 Chip, if those WIP pics represent low priority work on the interior, you carry on with it at low priority! That's looking good, fella!

Keep up the good work mate!
Ryujin 0 Posted March 23, 2008 I'd like to change the driving dynamics, but I'm going to consult some experts and do some research first.
Yeb 0 Posted March 23, 2008 Teasing us on these beauties is not fair! How can we wait now? Btw, How will you make the gunner view for m2 or mk19? Will you make it Tv screens-like (maybe like this)? Nice work so far (nice interior) and thanks for modernizing arma strykers, keep it up!

Inkompetent 0 Posted March 23, 2008 Well, it's not possible to get a real, working TV screen on the model, but one can always create a TV-like overlay for the sights.

Chip360 0 Posted March 23, 2008 Should be very possible, Ryujin already has plans to implement the real systems on board the Stryker with both his scripting skills and the help of another in our community (who I wont name I guess in case he hasn't talked to him yet) There will be plenty of more updates on these sort of things as they are made. Edit: Also, I will be looking into animations, and I think with the help of Ryujin we may implement some decent animations for the set, like opening cargo ramp for example. Chip360 0 Posted March 24, 2008 Okay, I have seen several sources telling me Strykers are painted in a "Field Green" paint scheme, but several other stating Olive Drab... Do we have any professionals out there that can tell me the *actual* paint color used on the Strykers? Its really bugging me, as I have the entire striker mapped off in Photoshop and all its really waiting for is me to come over it with the *correct* color...
