1.11 beta patch troubleshooting thread.

I appreciate that some troubleshooting issues might be too complex to be stuck together in the same thread as everyone else's, but if we can at least give it a try to keep all 1.11 related troubleshooting issues together to start it might help more people out than just the first one to have the problem.

I get IFC22.dll was not found error on starting the new beta ? confused_o.gif then Arma fails to start

you need to use the new shortcut provided inorder run the beta from the correct folder.

Just tested 1.11 beta:

- after some ALT+TAB sessions there are still crashes

My system requirements:

E6750 3,4 Ghz

2048 MB 1066 Mhz memory

Asus 8800 GTX 768 MB

Windows XP Professional 32 bit

using Nvidia 169.21 Forceware

DirectX 9.0c of March 2008

- since 1.09 Beta there is an error message appearing from time to time while starting a mission "burst is not a class", it's still existing in 1.11 Beta

- players can't connect to each other using 1.11 Beta in a local MP internet session, there were no problems using 1.08 and 1.09 Beta before

You have to wait for the server to get a ping before you join.. takes about 2 minutes after server starts on dedi.

** We had to disable battleeye on our server as it crashed it, and it made the server really slow at start no one could select slots or anything, once i disabled it, it ran perfect.

In our first tests there was no dedicated server exe involved. It was an hosted mp session between myself and my teammate. We checked the firewall settings, deleted them and set them new. No effect. Meanwhile I'm hearing of other players having same problems.

Edit:

Ahh by the way ... I just deleted the old beta folder and now I'm using the new 1.11 beta folder + a separate hotfix folder. There are started in that way:

"C:\Spiele\Armed Assault\beta\arma.exe" -mod=@GLT_Mod_Test;@GLT_Effekte_Pack_104;DBE1;beta;Hotfixes -nosplash

To uninstall 1.09

The zip file contained a Uninstall_ARMAPatch_1_11_beta.exe it should work for 1.09 as well. Run that first it should uninstall the previous beta and then reinstall the new patch.

Posting my bug report here aswell, plz excuse if not wished:

Great patch, for what've seen until now.

But we have huge problem with our server, tried on 2 locations.

Servers are either behind Built in Server 2003 Firewall / NAT, or Vista Firewall and router.

Clients can not connect and the arma_server.rpt notes:

There are also other servers up, which seem to have the same problem, I can only join 1/10 servers out there.

Reproducable:

Server: Windows Server 2003 x64, Install SP2, install all updates

[*] Install ArmA

[*] Install ArmA, and QueensGambit, Patches until v1.11

[*] start server with: -mod=dbe1;beta -config=test.cfg

Server has 2 network adapters, 1 connected to internet protected with windows firewall and nat enabled.

If we setup server and connect over Hamachi (http://www.hamachi.cc - we can connect to the server without any problems)

What does this message mean? I've seen it in 1.09 Beta several times before.

But after all these problems I would like to give some positive feedback. The new RAC spy looks great wink_o.gif At least I think it's new. Never seen him before. The AI pathfinding on bridges works very good now.

running 1.11 i can play single player with out issue but as soon as i hit the MP button arma CTD's with out any hints in the RTP on why. I'm gonna uninstall 1.09 and then reinstall 1.11 maybe this will fix it.

A teammate noticed this after using the 1.09 Beta uninstaller. That's why I never used the uninstaller.

I'm getting this too. I ran the 1.09 installer, which said it completed the uninstall in about a second. I checked to see if it had uninstalled, but all the 109 beta stuff was still there. when i run the uninstaller now it says there is no beta installed. so i just deleted the 109 beta folder and ran the 1.11 beta installer. Now i get the caa10 is missing error when i run the game or try to load a mission.

exact error on loading the game is : "Addon 'CA_Hotfix' requires addon 'CAA10'"

Yes when i clicked the 1.11 Patch.exe It said Updating 1.09 to 1.11 so its not necessary to uninstall beta 1.09

grrrr, not impressed. Just tried to run my normal none beta ARMA and getting the same crap about 'CAA10'. How can the beta have modified the original arma install??? its just a freeking mod folder isnt it? it doesnt touch anything to do with the original arma install? hope i can get this resolved soon sad_o.gif

FIX:

make sure there is no bin.pbo from 1.09 loaded in 1.11

(either some issue with 1.11 installer or using mods like 6thSense)

happens in both windowed / fullscreen ...

Luckily I have another pc beside me with Arma, that I have not updated yet. So I was able to copy the offending A10.pbo and BiSign back over to this pc. Seems to be OK now. Although I cant access the Armory, no error msg, just click the Armory button and nothing happens. Is that normal?

Tested out the A10 in editor. Rudder seems better, still not quite up to LockOn standard, but at least it has some usable yaw at speed now smile_o.gif

Ah finally someone else has this bug. Already thought i am the only one. What graphic card do you have and which drivers are installed? I have ATI Radeon X1700 Mobility in my laptop with modded catalyst 7.12 driver. (modded in order to be useable on the laptop). Suma assumed its driver related problem but I couldnt fix it.

ok i seen this on several ATI cards from 16xx to HD38xx on drivers including latest 8.3

this would mean at least last 4 versions of drivers got this 'bug'

I dont think it is a driver problem. Must be something else quite special because it is a rare bug.

I've manually removed 1.09beta. I've installed the new beta but launchin' ArmA by kegetys launcher tool the game don't start (it works perfectly with the previous beta). Anyone have the same problem or a solution?

Anyone has notice about mods incompatibility?
