No Shelter 0 Posted November 24, 2007 DESPAT You mean MARPAT right? I believe the infantry are army not marines. And they are in DCU rather than ACU. No, there is MARPAT (Woodland) and DESPAT (Desert) for the Marines. This is currently the up to date camo. For army its, ARPAT or ACU. I was wondering if they are going to be using these camo's. and DCU is Desert Combat Uniform which is DESPAT. Its a digital pattern, hence the "pat" at the end of it. DES = desert/ PAT = Pattern (Digital Pattern). The army in Iraq right now use ACU, they dont change. ACU is meant for all terrain.
Teliko 0 Posted November 24, 2007 Actually it's desert marpat not despat And DCU isn't desert marpat it's the tri-colour desert camo which is now out of date. It used to be used in iraq, not now.

Now I know I should never trust a friend who thinks he knows military. Thanks for correcting me lol. But yeah the current camo's are ACU, Desert Marpat and regular Marpat. No Shelter 0 Posted November 25, 2007 DCU is no longer used anymore. All branches of the US Military have replaced thier camo uniforms.Yes, thanks for repeating what we have already said.
abs 2 Posted November 27, 2007 Yes, thanks for repeating what we have already said. You're welcome I love how polite you are in the face of ..well, rudeness. You sure you're not Canadian? Abs
manzilla 1 Posted November 27, 2007 No doubt. The rude comments really add a nice touch of atmosphere though. Isn't it great people feel the need? IMWM folks, I'm loving the screen shots. I'm glad such a modern mod will be coming. I'm looking forward to this. Thanks

Mabes 0 Posted November 29, 2007 DCU is no longer used anymore. All branches of the US Military have replaced thier camo uniforms. That's not entirely true, in the USAF when you get deployed you get a few sets of the ABU's and a few of the DCU's. The ABU isn't the mandatory uniform for the AF (won't be until FY 2011). You still see alot of people in the BDUs around the bases, except for those who have completed BMT & TST since Oct '07, when the AF starting giving the ABU to new recruits. It's still being used, but it's being out processed And supposedly the Army is going to be getting rid of the ACU's and change their uniforms again, this time to the MULTICAM, which I think works a hell of a lot better. Clavicula_nox4817 0 Posted November 30, 2007 Wasn't Crye Multicam rejected due to its high cost? Â It's being tested and debated at the training facility that I can't remember the name of off the top of my head. It likely won't replace the ACU, though, especially since they *just* rolled out the uniform, it's mandatory date only started last month, and they are about to roll out the 2nd generation of the uniform. That's just pure speculation on my part, though. *edit* To be honest, after paying for all of my ACU's completely out of pocket which, without patches and badges, are around $80 a set, I personally am not in the mood to do the same damn thing with another uniform regardless of how great it is. raynor 0 Posted November 30, 2007 The US navy does still use the DCU as the NWU has not been made mandatory. I know that SOF personnel working aboard USS Michigan have been wearing DCU's and continue to do so. Now that it is winter they have switched to their norm ( BDU's ). I am not saying that NWU's are not being used in the navy just that it is not a requirement nor the norm for people being deployed. Regards, Raynor
Clavicula_nox4817 0 Posted December 2, 2007 I mean ACU. By 2nd generation, I'm saying ACU Mk2. There aren't many changes as far as I'm aware, it's mostly just meant to address the many complaints about ripping.

kroky 1 Posted December 18, 2007 I'm very interested in this mod. Really hoped somebody has the skill the will and the COURAGE to release a mod about Iraq war. A lot of people stay out of this theme as they find it too touchy..... I really would like to see some realistic warfare arena in ArmA! for not fearing to resemble iraq war in ArmA!
manberries 0 Posted December 18, 2007 kroky the argument regarding iraq and afghan war within arma isnt so much about the subject but its uses. Numerous terrorist organizations have used such military training programs to practice ied strikes and find holes in military tactics. Personally i do not see a huge problem with creating an iraq war mod, id only suggest that we do not remodel real cities or real areas within iraq. Instead such places could be changed but still given the same feel to them as the real life counter parts. Sure they could make the maps themselves for training purposes but lets not try to help them out. Id rather not see men die for our personal entertainment needs. Guest Posted December 18, 2007 Lots of birdies lately but I am starting to like them. I just hope people dont cage them. The birdies need to fly to do their natural thing. Looking forward to seeing a next update with some new info
Kerry 0 Posted December 19, 2007 Im not an "expert", but I highly doubt that a terrorist orgaization(atleats not the ones we're fighting in Iraq), would take the time, or even have the money to buy a 1000$+ PC just to play ArmA with some addon... Thats just my theory.... so what im trying to say, is im way for modeling real towns...
Kerry 0 Posted December 19, 2007 Kris @ Nov. 15 2007,08:31)]Guys i cant wait to make you some missions i have some really good ones ... but give me a few missions you would like to try out and ill make some for you ... but please keep the missions as realistic as you can (not 600 OPFORS Vs 2 BLUFORS) lol and yea its real Mission Idea: For IMWM howbout you make a mission like that Shootout episode on the History channel! Theres multi-ple awesome Iraq battles. Theres one that takes place in a giant ass graveyard by a Mosuque. Then a night ambush my insirgents. Or the one that the 2 squads of Marines were stuck in a mini-mart surrounded by insurgent forces. im pretty sure you can find these episodes at www.historychannel.com Hope you can make em! *EDIT* Crap!!!sorry, I ment to PM this!
