MP failure

Hi guys.

Today I try to connect to MP and no servers show up at all.

I try a remote address and this appears,but the internet servers do not show.

Anyone else getting this today,or am I messing up somewhere?

Worked grand last night and internet runs properly ect.

Also filter options are set to allow any servers to show - just that nothing appears tonight !

Ahh, this happend a few times with OFP.

I downloaded the latest version of Gamespy,thought hat didnt help either.

Why does the game even rely on GameSpy?

People can't connect to my server even by typing in the IP!

Has anyone tried using the startup parameters?

"C:\Program Files\Atari\ArmA\arma.exe" -connect=10.10.10.1 -password=if-theres-one

Disable uplink to gamespy master and people can remote in. In the Server.cfg change this:

reportingIP="armedass.master.gamespy.com";

to this:

reportingIP="0.0.0.0"; //"armedass.master.gamespy.com";

if the server is uplinking to the gamespy master you cannot get in them any way. They must disable uplink.

it's just master.gamespy.com failing to return anything related to Armed Assault

yet other games seems to work fine and return data from query master

Cant even play OFP either.

 Most UK servers as they're down so its Booze city afaic.

Just as well I have Morgans spiced and OVD Rum.

Too drunk now to try these params ...

Well matt, you must have known the IMO password then,but I dont sadly.(think I saw the IMO remote with 130/130 players earlier)

Though it could be caused by someone hacking gamespys servers, which is doubtfull though.

if it is a ddos attack then that might be what is happening, RUS Did it in February

I doubt anyone has hacked all the servers.

I doubt Gamespy has been hacked.

There's some Hack Kit out (read that over at Tactical Gamer).

I suspect either one or more of these scenarios has happened;

- Gamespy has shut down the ArmA master list service.

- The ArmA devs have shut down the ArmA master list service.

- There's a DDoS attack going on, against this master list service.

That DDoS report link (earlier in the thread) is months old. I don't suspect that particular issue is what we're seeing here, but you never know.

All of this is just pulled out of thin air, by me, but at this point it doesn't matter, I and others just can't get a list and play.

Can someone describe how "ArmA Start" works?  How to install it, etc.   We had a squad match scheduled but now can't play.
