Michael_Wittman 0 Posted August 27, 2007 This is starting to be massive. Today I had to ban 3 different cheaters...you know why? because the server was amost full, and that makes your server cheaters favourite target. Good thing is that I was quick so only one of them ruined one game, the other 2 didnt have the time. Please BIS hurry up with the anti-cheat. In other games cheaters are pissing but in this game...when you use to make 4 hours missions....is even more unacceptable. Did you show them your ban hammer? No... when they joined i checked their ids ... then BANG!
Shashman 0 Posted August 27, 2007 4 servers I've played on today. 3 were hacked. What the hell's going on?? I've seen this "Armed Assault MSN" hack twice today. Zombie spawning hack. Vehicles and infantry spawn hack.
Gaffa 0 Posted August 27, 2007 What is the point in going on about these cheats? They are most probably read this tread and laughing. Until BIS sort something out with the cheating, all you can do is ban their ID. If you want to go a step further, you can always ban their IP or IP range, from your ArmA server. If you wish to ban their IP range, be aware that you will most likely be banning legit players in the process.
Shashman 0 Posted August 27, 2007 I'm a player, not a host or a server. These people are ruining it for a whole lot of decent players.
.kju 3245 Posted August 27, 2007 Please head over to the ArmA Community Bugtracker on vote on: 2761: ArmA cheat protection needs rework / updates (metabug) Sign up, vote the issue and tell everyone who is annoyed by these hackers to do so as well! Tell BI that this issue needs their attention!
Gaffa 0 Posted August 27, 2007 Tell BI that this issue needs their attention! I think BI have had plenty of time to implement some kind of anti-cheat software. Look at OFP and now ArmA... I'm coming to the conclusion that ArmA 2 will be exactly the same! Of course they will find a way through, but its better to have some kind of anti-cheat than none at all! Atleast it makes them work. -UMPC-Hunter 0 Posted August 28, 2007 BLI Black Lion Italia Player NinjaDX could not lost and assumes that UMPC is cheating. Then he write he will came back in 3min with a better cheat. Then he quit and come back with cheats. Server was "Russian Legion server". His Player ID is 23276039. We do not cheating.
BLSmith2112 0 Posted August 29, 2007 These people have these things called ID changers... a ID ban wont do much of anything... They are supposedly working on a dynamic ID number changer too... Where it changes automatically with every interval of time.. We need to ban IP addresses...somehow.. they aren't as easy to change and will mean less hackers in our games.. dmarkwick 261 Posted August 29, 2007 BIS should mix in some CPU/HD/graphic card ident numbers into the mix to enable banning machines rather than IDs.
dave7802 0 Posted August 30, 2007 BIS should mix in some CPU/HD/graphic card ident numbers into the mix to enable banning machines rather than IDs. that wnt help there is things called hardware spoofers So not even hardware ID ban will stop em
oChaos.DNJ 0 Posted August 31, 2007 BIS should mix in some CPU/HD/graphic card ident numbers into the mix to enable banning machines rather than IDs. that wnt help there is things called hardware spoofers So not even hardware ID ban will stop em It wouldnt stop all of them, BUT it would stop most of them. Most of them cant even hack to begin with, they are just using mod files. WHICH REALLY SHOULDNT BE CALLED HACKING OR CHEATING, SINCE THIS IS A FLAW OR RATHER LACK OF TOOLS AND LACK OF THOUGHT IN CODING THE GAME, AND SERVER SETTING PREFERENCES {these type of cheaters wouldnt be possible, if 1)Server didnt allow mods, 2)BIS didnt allow the crazy amount of client side setting manipulation and scripting. Â In effect, they are the ones who are allowing them to "cheat". Its nothing more then changing game settings really, might as well add a new menu next to video settings. Its just insane as to why so much is allowed client side. Â }, Â Or they are just downloading someone elses hack. Even those who can hack, doesnt mean they would know how to bypass a HW ban, either. Let alone the fool who just downloaded someone elses hack. But online key checking needs to be added to the game. Obviously it shouldnt be possible for a keygen to work online. djackl 0 Posted September 3, 2007 Just now, on the Volcbat server, somebody was spawning zombies, Abrams, T72s, BMPs, Generals at the airbase. What the eff? Â We almost always have somebody online (if not on the server), give us a shout if this happens and we can do a quick server restart for you. It should have an email on the www.volcbat.com website. jerryhopper 286 Posted September 5, 2007 maybe a weird question, but lets say i want to 'expirience' those cheaters. What is the best server to go to?
Nutty_101 0 Posted September 5, 2007 +10 users online.
Mr_Tea 0 Posted September 5, 2007 To ban IP´s would not really help. I get a new IP every time i restart my DSL Router. So if i wanted that, i could get a new IP every few minutes without problems. Not everyone has an fixed IP, in this case that would be better. What is really starting to driving me nuts is, that they use programs to change their player or game ID, and soon the DVD Key. That`s enough to get them in jail for some time, for releasing that programs.
Nutty_101 0 Posted September 5, 2007 No one goes to jail for that. it's when they distribute the software itself that they can get busted. App's are nothing unless the vendor/dev sues. Then it is even hard to win a case.

Nutty_101 0 Posted September 6, 2007 Depends on the country you live in, me thinks. Could be true but even here in the states it's not that bad and were horrid about that. Unless your EA or someone who puts money into someones pockets.
Somerville 0 Posted September 6, 2007 Thing is it's getting worse now. They turn up to every server, and BIS doesn't seem to be doing anything (Apologies if they are, I don't read every news post ). It'll eventually get crap to play the game because of the cheaters. There's no point in BIS releasing Queen's Gambit or ArmAII if there's nothing done to address the issue of cheaters ruining the game.
(FPC) Bacon 0 Posted September 7, 2007 Here's a few 10 digi ID's that used speed cheats on our server. 2824427383 2524129143 3828991863
Mehmehmeh 0 Posted September 7, 2007 No one is hacking, they are cracking the game. Hackers are normally quite computer literate and have a good know how about the same. Cracker, anyone can be who knows how to download and follow simple .txt instruction.

Backinthetxt 0 Posted September 8, 2007 The hacking is getting ridiculous, if BIS were doing anything there would be something about it here. All I know is this game is loosing popularity after less than a year of release. As it is, unless ArmAII is better (HIGHLY doubtful) when OFP2 comes out, I'm gone, cause IMO that will be the closest to ArmA, but hopefully they will implement more support and anti-hack measures.
