[aps]gnat 28 Posted July 2, 2007 Thanks guys. @smelly Yes, most truck where I live have triple axles. http://territorypictures.tripod.com/pages/rtrains/scarcellas.html @Eversmann @bravo6 Suspect there will be issues in MP but hope to test soon @BUZZARD Nar, don't think I'm a Truckin man, I'll leave that to Sigma -6 @StryDa No, no attach/detach scripts yet, it was just a function test. @wika_woo Nar never played it, but I would enjoy a CarWars mod for ArmA @quiet_man Yep, I'm sure theres some scripting that could prevent the jumping that happens on rough ground, when the trailer is X meters above ground or on X angle then script it back down onto the truck. @BraTTy Yeh, maybe for vehicles but I think the "man walk" animation might look a little odd as you force the player around with an invisible Geo LOD BTW, only qualified drivers should play with addons like this, it very dangerous
bravo 6 0 Posted July 2, 2007 what about the shadow of the back trailer, you think you can make it work?
[aps]gnat 28 Posted July 2, 2007 I switched the shadow on for the model but it went all funky and odd looking in game .... it is an OFP converted model that appears to have some special errors, it even crash O2 on me a couple of times. It was only a test trailer so I didn't bother trying any harder. .... similar problems with getting shadows on the FSX ripped models.

Even boats... PLus some cool Rock crawlers.. Speaking of rock crawlers, i'd love to see some for arma
Guest Posted July 3, 2007 Wow nice! Im wondering if the way you got the trailer to work could also apply to a donkey and cart im making. Im not sure how the donkey is suppose to pull the cart along with him and avoid the real physics make the cart move with the donkey. The model of you 18wheeler is really nice! M9ACE 0 Posted July 10, 2007 Gnat, do you plan to test towing a tracked vehicle with another tracked vehicle? Â I wonder if this solution of yours would work for a vehicle such as the Bv206.
Sigma-6 29 Posted July 11, 2007 Looks awesome, practically flawless, except I don't like the wheels. They don't match, they have a green tint to them, except the back three, which are white. Also, as mentioned, there are three wheels on the very back. I've only seen trucks with two. That's because they're two totally different models. As he said, Delta Hawk made the trailer, I made the cab. As I've said several times elsewhere, the wheels actually are that colour. The actual R-model this is based on had been sitting in a truck graveyard for years. The wheels were still good, but the tires were green from mould and sun-bleached. It looks a bit odd, but it is authentic. It's an old run-down beater of a truck. Just as a side-note, an owner-operator does not often own a trailer; they simply pick them up for jobs and drop them off, so it's basically irrelevant that they don't 'match,' anyway. (takes a breath) Wow. It looks great, and it's not even scripted. . . I thought for sure it would be a script. . . I was just down in Niagara and there are a lot of old trucks down there. . . I think I'm going to do a trailer model for this, in the same style as the cab. . .
pathetic_berserker 4 Posted July 11, 2007 hmmm, thought of B-Doubles, or Road Trains? I know it would be meaningless to most people who play arma (except maybe for the aussies) but it would still be kinda cool.
quiet_man 8 Posted July 11, 2007 . . I think I'm going to do a trailer model for this, in the same style as the cab. . . fitting colors for truck? People watch to much TV shows would be great if you can get it fully working. QuietMan
Sigma-6 29 Posted July 11, 2007 fitting colors for truck? People watch to much TV shows No, not at all. 'in the same style,' meaning old and beat-up.
[aps]gnat 28 Posted July 12, 2007 hehe ... while your at it Sigma-6, you might like to make a Low-Loader for moving tanks ..... seems people in this forum think it might be usable .... for what I don't know

pathetic_berserker 4 Posted August 1, 2007 That's got to be a bi*** in reverse, but it would be cool to implement it, not just for the use of it, but also to show that there are few limits of this game! lol. I imagine they avoid it, however A B-double is basically a prime mover with a 20ft trailer followed by a 40ft trailer. So 1/2 the length of the one in the above pic and 2 articulations not 3. Years ago as a forky i used watch guys reverse them through the wharehouse doors, lucky to have a meter each side. Out of a neighboors driveway that was opposite, but 10 meters off center! Dannyllnl69 0 Posted August 7, 2007 Nice . you should make more variety of trucks..like peterbuilt,mack,frightliner,international..etc...keep the good work on 1- 10 (10)
Tankbuster 1747 Posted August 7, 2007 Yes, they could model all the crappy US trucks, or the well built, better peforming European ones.
Auss 208 Posted August 8, 2007 Quote[/b] ]es, they could model all the crappy US trucks, or the well built, better peforming European one LOL I'd love to see how your "better perforning trucks" go in the outback of Aus.
moneymikey 0 Posted August 8, 2007 Throw halliburton on side of the truck, and make a fat trucker model
rundll.exe 12 Posted August 9, 2007 Wow, this is verry impressive. I was working on a "true" trailer script, but this is way better. I have good hopes for MP, but a stressed server might get problematic (worth testing). I thought about this solutiuon (after testing some with a "computer" object in the back of the offroad car) But I didnt think it would turn out working I even thought the geo LOD could never be outside the 0.00 lod, but that is not the case? For the player near problem, you can use a simple script that keeps the hinge near the correct pos, and make it follow somewhat realistic (to avoid damage in urban areas) This makes possibilities for double trailers etc and even more complex mechanisms
HogRoot 0 Posted September 23, 2007 Hey Gnat...just wondering if there was any progress on a release yet? Have been wanting to get my hands on the trailer mod for some time now. Any updates for us?
[aps]gnat 28 Posted September 24, 2007 This is a mod with a lower-case "m" (modification of existing addons), not a Mod with a upper-case "M" ...... hence its just a test to prove it can be done. I don't make Trailers (as in towed items, not as in Videos) and I don't make trucks (as in .... trucks) so i'll leave it to others to make towed stuff
