Ranger Bob 0 Posted October 27, 2007 All I could suggest would be the GIMP.
Daddl 10 Posted October 30, 2007 I'm using Lightroom for RAW conversion, image improvements and cropping - to some degree it also works fine for JPEG images (just remember you only got 8bit data instead of 12 or more bit). Usually that's all I need, as I don't go for fancy effects (just white balancing, exposure, contrast, and maybe some noise filtering). For further editing I'd recommend Paint .Net (not so many filters and effects, but great for adjusting images to the 100k limit) and the already mentioned GIMP (lots of possibilities, but much more complex to use). Necromancer- 0 Posted November 4, 2007 I recently bought me a Canon Powershot A720IS. I find it quite good value for money -> 250 euro. Too bad there is a lot of noise at high ISO's, but I've heard that it's normal for every camera. Experiments with the macro-setup.. http://img514.imageshack.us/img514....mg] http://img292.imageshack.us/img292....mg] http://img292.imageshack.us/img292....mg] And this is without macro, everything was on full-auto. http://img77.imageshack.us/img77....mg] http://img292.imageshack.us/img292....mg] http://img292.imageshack.us/img292....mg]
Ranger Bob 0 Posted November 5, 2007 Flickr Page It's the river Clyde in Glasgow, showing the new bridge. I need to get my camera fixed... it didn't help that the aperture was only 4 - I totally forgot! Also, here is a link to my new website. It's not quite finished yet. shinRaiden 0 Posted November 12, 2007 Anybody know where I can find a water-proof case for a Canon SD400? There's several that are rated for down to 3 meters, but I'm looking for something that can handle at least 10 meters instead. So far it seems that that is the only model that does not have a deep-water case, by any third party or canon.
Daddl 10 Posted November 13, 2007 Check the digideep site. Not sure how good their english language pages are, but if you're looking for a good case they have infos about nearly any type you could possibly think of. Edit: Just saw that they only list 1 case for the IXUS 50/SD400 - and that's also only for depths down to 3m. Looks like you're out of luck there..

The reason why I have so little time hanging out in this forum nowadays is because a few friends and I have a started a small internet enterprise that works with geotagged footage..I will let you know as soon as we go online with our Alpha.
