scruffy 22 Posted May 17, 2007 I haven't tried the sun glare and seafoam yet, but I love the new damage textures. Thank you
sniper pilot 36 Posted May 17, 2007 There goes the tactical advantage of having the sunset behind you... Although I like the dammage texture... it makes you wonder what was bis thinking?
xnodunitx 0 Posted May 17, 2007 I don't know, although it seemed like a sort of tactical advantage, this in truth is more realistic, go outside on the clearest day, look around the area of the sun and then stare directly at the sun for a second. Don't stare too long though. Argh the HDR is high today x.x But anyway, the glare doesn't cover the entire sky to that extent but generally remains where the sun is right? The clear sky with no clouds just kind of magnify it but not to that extent. All in all I'd say excellent job with what you have done, and if you are planning to modify the damage textures more so they looked burned then I would suggest you only make the areas where the fire actually is, appear burned, not the entire vehicle. Sgt_Eversmann 1 Posted May 17, 2007 Tried your stuff today and I've gotta say: Sexzellent The new damagetextures should be BIS standart, the sunglare is much much better now!
Apo-TTCC 0 Posted May 18, 2007 Don't get me wrong, but isn't using the 'Non Blinding Sun' change giving you an unfair advantage over players that don't have it installed? Especially in human vs. human MP.
DVD 0 Posted May 19, 2007 Don't get me wrong, but isn't using the 'Non Blinding Sun' change giving you an unfair advantage over players that don't have it installed? Especially in human vs. human MP. Not much more unfair as HDRPrecision=16, lol.

Sometimes it improves visibility, and sometimes it makes it dramatically worse... It just depends on the light level and such.
Daniel 0 Posted May 20, 2007 Love the mod, the new textures are huge improvements. But since installing, I don't get any GUI when I die? It's a shame not to get to use it.
ColonelSandersLite 0 Posted May 20, 2007 Sounds like you did something that messed up ca.pbo...
Daniel 0 Posted May 20, 2007 Yeah it does. I'll revert back for now, and let you know if I try it again successfully.
Greg147 0 Posted May 20, 2007 I had the same problem. There were other problems, like civies sitting down by default instead of standing, and an error message when pressing 'Esc'. I'm not sure what I did wrong, so if you do manage to fix it, could you post up how?
Daniel 0 Posted May 20, 2007 Sure, but I doubt I'll find the problem now that you've posted a similar issue. I'm a bit of a no brainer when it comes to addons, I just do whatever the readme tells me to. Â
JimLad 0 Posted May 21, 2007 Great, but as has been said before we need burned out textures too. Is this possible?
bonko the sane 2 Posted May 21, 2007 just a quick heads up, since i changed to a 64 bit OS i cant seem to use cpbo or winpbo, but i found that elitness 1.2 works just fine on winXP 64 bit SP2
EvEnLeaSe44 0 Posted May 21, 2007 hey, it is posible for each vehical to have there own burn texture, but it will require the mod tools. Just giving a heads up!
PhilippRauch 0 Posted May 22, 2007 Hi, wasnt there a patch-program for .pbo? I think there was one, at least for OFP. Or was it just the standard software-patcher allmost everybody uses for their software? I think the best solution would be to do that patchprogram after all is finished and to make it create a new Addon Folder automatically, The Enduser will just need to add the line to their startuplink. Can anyone give me a tip which patchsoft that was? Thanks, Vigilante
ColonelSandersLite 0 Posted May 22, 2007 I did a little toying with this and got the sun and seafoam to work via a modfolder without putting the rest of CA in there (that was easy actually). However, I can't figure a way to get the damage textures to work like that. It seems the engine references the damage textures itself, which means that you can't tell it what textures to use. Any ideas from anyone?
bravo 6 0 Posted May 22, 2007 The sun effect is excelent no doubt about it!I just think that while the vehicles are on fire they should get that burnt effect after a while and they don't (yet). Can you fix that? i ask this again because in MP sometimes its hard to understand if a bmp or tank are destroyed or just "sleeping". Could this be implemented? hedcrusha 0 Posted May 26, 2007 @ColonelSandersLite could you upload your .pbo of the sun mod at all? As I want to keep my arma install fresh if you know what i mean!
andersson 285 Posted May 27, 2007 In the beginning I thought that this non-blinding sun was a bad idea. But come to thiink about it, the sun in real llife is not that blinding, this might be more realistic. Gonna try this out!
HulkingUnicorn 0 Posted May 29, 2007 I think the current sunglare in ArmA simulates the way I get blinded by the sun pretty well - but then I'm quite light sensitive Those damaged vehicle textures look very nice though, great work!

an_enlarged_stomach 1 Posted October 23, 2007 Ok. I really want to use this addon, but I don't think I have the right equipments, and I am kinda lost. Help please?
.kju 3245 Posted October 24, 2007 I'll do a full pbo release in the next days. To remove the sun blinding altogether get the excellent GDTModSun by HeinBloed.
