Gaizokubanou 0 Posted June 13, 2007 I got Vista Ultimate 64bit version, E6600 EVGA 8800 GTX 4gigs of Kingston ram EVGA nForce 680i mobo Seagate 200gb harddrive X-fi Xtreme gamer Both vanilla USA retail version (which I think is 1.5) and 1.8 gives me this problem, making the game simply unplayable. And judging from the length of this thread... will this ever be solved? It's a damn shame that I paid $39.99 for nothing as of right now.

spongbo 0 Posted June 13, 2007 Mere seconds into the first Mission in 1.08 (and is it just me, or is it now a heap harder? - the old red truck used to have some extra mines in it, but the new tan truck is empty. Misers.) --------------------------- ArmA --------------------------- Cannot create system memory surface DXT5,2048x2048 (size 5592416 B) Error code 8007000e --------------------------- OK Â --------------------------- I tried resetting the video settings to Default... same problem. The time after that, it survived a little longer, but then crashed with a "The program has stopped working" message mid mission. Plus, there's now a new "pulsing framerate" - every second or so, it slows down noticeably, then returns to normal (or a little faster than normal), then slows down again... I am truly disheartened and unhappy with ArmA. Nothing about it has gone well for me, from the Sprocket system being broken through to the bugs in the game. I think I'm going to give up on it for 6 months. The wait for 1.08 was forever, and now we're faced with the same old problems plus this weird heartbeat framerate, well, I've just lost interest. I can't even be bothered trying -maxmem this time. If anyone asks, I'll tell them to avoid ArmA until BIS start testing it better on a wider variety of systems. Not since the third patch for BF2 have I had such a poor experience. System, in case anyone's interested: AMD X2 4400+ on Nforce 4 board Vista x64 2GB ATI X1950 Pro Other Games Work Fine.. stobbsy 0 Posted June 13, 2007 Was getting this a lot since 1.08 patch was installed. However I have rolled back my ATI driver back to version 8.33.0.0, dunno if this is a catalyst version or what. Was the version on my computer when I got it 2 months ago and so far no crashes *touches wood*
Donionz 0 Posted June 13, 2007 In my entire gaming career, since the dawn of games like Wings of Fury, Test Drive and Wolfenstein 3D I have never been as frustrated as I am with this game. My honest opinion is that Armed Assault is a disaster, quite frankly I'm in awe of myself for not turning to violence and destroying stuff around me... I'm on a brand new computer, which in my humble opinion should easily get this gaming working; Dual core 2 E6600 2,4ghz - 2 gig ram, Nvidia Geforce 8800GTX 768mb ram, vista 32. I'm getting thrown to desktop like crazy,8007000e error, or just a warning saying the program has stopped working. WTF GUYS?! And yes I've tried all different settings, resolutions, maxmem etc... I read somewhere that BI had released the patch and gone on vacation. I'm starting to believe this..... How come there is no official statements regarding the vast amount of problem people are having with their program. If they are on vacation I hope the weather is pissing down on them. My 2 cents; Bohemia Interactive are killing themselves with this kind of substandard programming. I want BI to make an official statement admitting the problems and making a real effort to resolve the issues. I've spent over 65$ on this game, I expect it to work. Gaizokubanou 0 Posted June 13, 2007 The new drivers doesn't solve this problem. I think this is a problem with ARMA, not the nvidia drivers. Even though all drivers for Vista are unoptimized etc, it's still BIS who does not officially support Vista. Atm we need to be happy when shit runs fine under Vista and I guess the choice of BIS, with their limited money and manpower, to first get it all nice and dandy on XP isn't that bad as still 90% of the gamers is on XP/2000. I do hope however that in the upcoming patch(es) they WILL invest time in getting it running better under Vista etc.

vilas 477 Posted June 14, 2007 i will test this weekend 1.08 if it will be crushing like 1.07 i hope not (with or without -maxmem 512) but Sickboy: it is something wrong with the game, i was complaining alot on HDR since 1.02, now in 1.08 i see no pulsing , the game is not annoying, so if patch solved this it only means there WAS something wrong in engine for 200 %, not in PC, drivers & etc ! in game, and all complains were not flaming, bitching or other, if i buy product it must function ! odjob 0 Posted June 14, 2007 p.s. Is it possible to have xp running on a HD and on another Vista running ? ; so when i start the PC i can chose wich OS to use I did just that, installed XP on another drive. XP install will overwrite Vistas bootfiles, to fix this you boot with your Vista DVD and choose to repair bootfiles. Then it will only boot Vista again so download "VistaBootPro", with that prog you can set up a dualboot bootfile. Works like a charm. I must say, i didnt expect Arma to run as good on XP as it does. From everything on low/very low with constant crashes to everything very high and rock stable!

CameronMcDonald 146 Posted June 14, 2007 I was in the same boat as all you guys, and after I tried fiddling with my settings I managed to get things fairly stable. I still have the rare 8007000e event, but very rarely. Try this: -maxmem=256 (this seems to be the only setting that works for me). I'm not sure how this will go on older machines, but it does the trick for me, although I'm on a pretty high-end system. Also, put everything on high/very high, except AA, AF (put these on low) and PP (put this on high).

Donionz 0 Posted June 14, 2007 Funny thing....game seems to work perfect when i use "try" in the armory section.... played for an hour, with the only glitch being the inside drivers view of the armored personell carrier, the graphics there are screwed...everything else seems ok. No fps loss, 800700e warning or anything. When I play the single missions I get the 800700e error 10 out of 10 times...or the game just hangs while loading, can move the mouse in the pre-game menu, but can't click anything..hang up....what gives.. dual 2 core e6600, geforce 8800gtx 768 mb ram, 2 gig memory, vista 32.
