Col. Faulkner 0 Posted July 3, 2007 I'd like some adjustment so as to enable soldiers to carry a variety of weapons correctly. I don't know if this would qualify as an "addon request" to modders or an "enhancement request" to BIS (if there even is such a thing as the latter). Right now all small arms (except pistols) are carried as if they were an M16. If an ArmAsoldier picks up a straight-stocked weapon (eg. the M24 sniper rifle) then he holds it through the trigger guard as if he lacks opposable thumbs! Machine gunners in the prone position do not hold their guns properly either. This is putting me off finishing some of the addon weapons I was doing.
Messiah 2 Posted July 3, 2007 i think this is still a 'problem' with animations and that it appears that you can still only apply specific animations to the human, rather than the weapon (i.e. any custom anim to hold the weapon properly is tied to a unit, rather than a weapon) if you created a specific unit to hold each weapon it would work... but of course its crap once they want to hold anything else or someone wants their weapon. welcome to our world - bulpups suffer the same problems - you can line the trigger up, but end up with a lump of SUSAT in your head

Col. Faulkner 0 Posted July 4, 2007 (i.e. any custom anim to hold the weapon properly is tied to a unit, rather than a weapon) I was thinking just now about how pistols and rifles are differentiated. If an ArmA bod picks up a pistol he "knows" to hold it as a pistol, if he picks up an M16 he holds it appropriately (IIRC in OFP that was specified by a "weaponType" variable in the weapon config - I assume ArmA is similar). I don't know if adding extra "weaponType"s (eg. "straight stocked rifle", "bullpup" etc), and the appropriate anims, can be done using the interfaces available to modders though. Messiah 2 Posted July 4, 2007 yes its because they're different weapon types - same reason the AT weapons have different anims. not sure if you can define more weapon types - would be ace if you could
REVkHA 0 Posted July 4, 2007 World war 2 vehicules, Cannons, towing scripts for atg's and trucks. ww2 Mortar's and artillery. trucks, tanks, apc's, boats, planes. That will be all for now thanks
guttersnipe 1 Posted July 5, 2007 Speech bubbles would be very handy - I think someone made the option for OFP once (?) I think they would safe a whole pile of time mission scripting & voice acting, with the benefit of adding that authentic 'comic book' war story feeling - any UKer's remember the Warlord, Battle, or Victor comics? lol Sargeant Johnny Death or similar.. Would be handiest if the addon could call the dialog from a series of text files on demand via a trigger, with the 'speaking' party/soldier etc pre-identified in the text file : ie one 'conversation' to & fro characters per file, with the bubbles switching between speakers automatically for the duration. If the bubble was a simiple 2d shape then I guess that an automatic cut scene would negate the problem of which direction the camera was facing. (god, how I misss my camera triggers a lá OFP - bring them back BIS!

wipman 1 Posted July 5, 2007 Hi, i think that will be pimp and will fit very well for the RACS, this: - A1 Skyrider (in Nam camo) - Vought A7 Corsair II (Nam Camo & 2 tone grey + white) if booth could have the same texture detail than the LOMAC planes, i think that they'll be at the ArmA's height; and the models should be "easy" to do, since they're not "that hard" to do. Let's C ya
IceManHG 0 Posted July 5, 2007 I would love for someone to skin some US Army troops wearing DCU's with the 1st Armored Division patch. The same kind of DCU's that the 3ID addon's use.
GD Mast 0 Posted July 5, 2007 Anybody plan on making a Mi-28 "Havok"? Â That is one hell of a attack helo. Â Glad that RHS made the Mi-24 Hind. Â The ArmA Ka-50 "Hokum" is alright but something isn't right about it. Can't forget Mapfact's "Apache" but that needs some fixing too. GD Mast

HogRoot 0 Posted July 6, 2007 Ok guys here goes my wishlist. Â I'm an old chinook crew chief from back in the day and I would love to see a new variation of the CH-47 Chinook. Â Here is what I would like to see on it. 1. Improve the controls so its not as sensitive as the mapfact version. 2. Ability to lower the rear ramp 3. Add the slingload script to it and have a new position in back at the cargo hole. Â This will allow the CC to stick his head out and view the approaching load so he can guide the pilot. 4. Ability to load vehicles inside...Hummer will be the largest size. I would gladly help out with this project in any way I can. Â If it is possible to do any of this...please contact me. I would also like to see different variants of the Vietnam era Huey (Single engine) Thanks all!

LoFFeN 0 Posted July 7, 2007 M2A2/M3A2 Bradley "Infantry/Cavarly Fighting Vechile" So are there any addonmakers that are planning to make this beauty? We really need a decent APC/IFV for the Blufor-Forces in ArmA. The M113, Vulcan and the Strykers don't perform good enough against it's counterpart, the BMP-2 IFV. And I miss that M242 25mm cannon really baaad!
spetsnazcu 0 Posted July 8, 2007 Some wishes :- fixed and unfixed bayonett - possibility to hit with stockbutt - Pistol-whipping - handcuffs (can only be removed by another player) - tonfa (= police club) - machete - molotov cocktail - riot control stuff - etc ...
