i think that some tings has to be changed;

1) Abrams should be stronger, it is simple work (done)

2) untill Oxygen2 is not released we can only reteture:

fictional Sahrani units should have:

- south state should also have green camo, not only desert, so i think i should give them fictional green sixcolor (they have desert already)

also many pro-soviets states had no camo but khaki or green uniforms, so i gave to the north one color uniforms, but still i haven't decided olive drab (middle) or dark khaki (right)<-- maybe players can vote, olive drab or khaki ?

3) when oxygen will be released - RPK, AKMS to the north, UZI, G3, M16A1 and real M16A2 to the south

model of M16A2 in game is wrong it is not M16A2, but some mix of A2 and A4

They all look so good! You've got my vote for the olive drab, though. I think the khaki might be too noticable from some distance away.

And I really like the way the fictional green sixcolour turned out. Keep up the good work! thumbs-up.gif

Yes, they look very good. I'd been waiting for someone

to improve the textures of the N. Sahranis!

I think the N. Sahrani troops as textured by BIS are

supposed to be wearing the modern Russian "NATO"

camouflage pattern, although the texturing of it on

the models is not particularly good.

I do like the alternative "Soviet khaki" colour scheme you

have done, though, and I'd definitely want to download

and use units dressed like this! [i'm sure, however, that

some party-pooper will complain that they look too

"1970s"]

Whichever scheme wins the "vote", please may I suggest

you change the frag' vest to a colour slightly different from

the uniform (or even leave it in its original colour)?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that the bare steel

tobies they are wearing don't look very "tactical", so I'd also

like to suggest that it would also be great if you could add a

camouflage cover to the steel helmets, something like this:

The paratrooper in this picture has his helmet covered with

material in the KLMK "sun bunnies" pattern that was first

used in the late 1960s, but if you are going to do it then

you could substitute a more modern pattern if you want.

I like both of the North retexes but i'd say i'm partial to the Khaki. thumbs-up.gif

But releasing both is always the better choice. wink_o.gif

- full camo;

- rain pattern "moro" like Polish or DDR or CSLA;

- olive drab;

- khaki;

which of them to put in addon ? all - people can say that this is nonsense smile_o.gif

Put them all in...1 version for each different North soldier model and you'd have a very nice pack there.

Maybe a plain OD green for the South too. (just an idea) smile_o.gif

If I have to choose one, then it would be the olive drab or put them all in and let the player decide.  Also helmet covers too.

Great job! I especially like #2 with the helmet cover smile_o.gif .

I cant wait untill someone comes up with proper new SLA and RACS models, those vests with the shovels and tents look just wrong, this pisses me off since they have better model parts and textures for years now but only used some...

Vilas przeteksturuj helm. Fatalnie wyglada odstajacy zielony. Powinien byc duzo ciemniejszy albo w camo munduru albo zgnila zielen lub jeszcze cos innego.

It's difficult to decide what colour scheme is best as now i seem to like the full camo version now that i've seen it, were as before i would of thought the khaki version would of suited. Heatseeker sumed it up for me when he mentioned the crappy shovels and bed roll on the models (I know you can't remodel these yet). There's just some thing not right about the khaki model because of the bed roll. It's a very basic BDU, but with the bed roll and shovel it don't seem right. That's just my personal opinion.

Maybe i'm getting tired of the west Vs east settings and that's why i'm looking forward to Ebuds african retextures. For me the island of Sahrani is crying out for african, arab or even south american style opfor.  I know i'm getting way ahead of myself here but that's my opinion. Maybe it's because i'm yet to get the full game  crazy_o.gif

I'm not sure how the M1 tank looks in game but maybe you could turn your hand to retexturing that, as i don't like the camo scheme BIS have given it. Just a thought.

Hi, i think that that 6 colours BDU looks great; and for the eastern style units... i'll vote for keep the camo and add just the kaki BDU's; for the western fryendly units i'll choose that 6 colours BDU's and Nam tiger stripe for the SF units, with a Coyote Tan eliminator III vest or just the woodland one; i'll change some more things in those reduced armed forces, i'll give 'em some Nam UH1's to the western units and an RHS MI24 for the eastern units; but that (ovbiously) is somethin' that should be done once the propper tools be released. But anyways... good job there. Let's C ya

You read my mind wink_o.gif . The buildings, vegetation, etc just feel North African (atleast in the south), it would have been a much more fitting theme for this game.

We have ME architectural influences and EU too (from ex colonies?). The RACS are so missing personality, they are like US models wearing old choc chip cammos, they should look diferent/appart.

wouldnt ordinary woodland BDU´s be more apropriate then the 6 color fictional thingy?

since the US has abandoned the old woodland uniforms (and the 3 color desert uniforms) i think that thay might have given their surplus uniforms to Sahrani.....

but then again, you´re the boss when it comes to your addons...

I downloaded your first "alpha". I liked the new uniform

textures a lot but was a bit disappointed that you didn't

give the N. Sahrani troops disruptive patterned camouflage

covers for their helmets. This would be a good opportunity

to correct this annoying oversight on the part of the BIS

texturers, and other contributors to the thread liked the

idea too. I'd like to ask you again if you'd maybe consider

doing it for us.  smile_o.gif

Edit: I do realise you did it for some of them, but the one

with the disruptive pattern has it only at the front; it should

really be a cloth cover that hides the entire bowl.

what you mean ?

cloth on helmet - i wait for oxygen 2 or you mean texture that looks like cloth ?

if you mean other thigs like luminescence, material - i cannot open texture of glossines and shadow in textview, dieferrent format

"Disruptive" as in "breaking up the shape and outline", but

if it's not possible to do it properly without the tools then

just forget it. Thanks for considering it anyway.

Show me any reasons why Abrams should stay alive after 1 shot from T72 ?

There is a lot of tutorials of correct destroying of abrams with only one rpg shot & IT SIMPLY WORKS ! in Irak, Africa...etc. So why it must survive after 1 sabot ?

but as i know from those wars abrams will survive

M1A1 is new technology from late 80' and value of armor is about 400-700 mm

T72 without ERA has armor about value of 400 mm

both has composite armor but how many T72 were distroyed by M1A1 and vice versa ?

T72 is not T80 BV,

T80 BV is comparable to M1A1 by stregh, but not T72 M

russians taks are better for roads, terrain, because they are "light" about 40 tons , US tanks 60 tons

but russian / soviet strategy was : they have one expensive and strong tank, we have 10 cheap and lighter tanks on their one, so we will drown them in our steel

quality against quantity (large numers)

in game engine (althought it was in advertisment) there is no division for : front armor, back armor, structure of config is like OFP, so i had to give better value to all tank

i could give it just to front of turret

Saudi Arabia, special trainings... american armor has not even reached the range....

Russian armor can march throw the desert without any problems...

Do not forget what russian tank havn't same characteristics like irakians have...

If both Abrams & T-72 CAN be destroyed with only ONE RPG shot or sabot...regardless theirs armor !!!

What we have...Two tanks, one of them cost like iraki palace, with big armor but useless & elegant like a cow on the ice....& one which is faster, cheaper, can survive thousands time better than abrams & pass where abrams can't...

Armor it's not a quality with new antiarmor weapons..

There IS division for : front armor, back armor !!! TRY TO SHOOT WITH RPG to the different armor parts...you'll see..

SO KEEP IT AS IT IS !!!!  smile_o.gif
