JBâ„¢ 1 Posted November 3, 2007 Fantastic AI model mate, cant wait to get my hand on it! Not sure about all of the honeycomb scope inserts but the ones we used had about 100%+ more depth to the ones in you pic.
Guest RKSL-Rock Posted November 3, 2007 On a side note, just found an awesome model by Hav0c of an AWP/AWM/L96/I am not sure on its designation because it has about 50 different ones. The textures are by Racer445, and I just got done optimising the model and merging the textures onto one larger file. Anyway, just a wuick screenshot of progress and to show-off the awesome looking honeycomb lens shroud I took ages to get looking right:[mg]http://sjb.gotf.net/arma_weaponsproject/images/SJB_AWMAWPL96_preview_tn.jpg[/img] CLICK ME FOR LARGER IMAGE That looks really nice but that's not an L96.  Its more of a merge of the AE,AWP with .338 AWM barrel. If it’s any help and for the sake of accuracy here are the differences: 1- It appears to be an AICS chassis, the L96 uses a different chassis. But its no longer in production post 2000.  There are 7.62 NATO chambered weapons using the AICS system but they are marketed as AWP 2 - It has an AWP/millspec breach and bolt which is fine but it’s missing a few bits eg the iron sights. 3 - L96 and L115's don’t have picatinny rails, the scopes mount direct to the receiver body.  Only the civilian/police AE series with the rounded receiver has picatinny rails. 4 - The fluted barrel is only used on the .338 Lapua and .300 calibers. If you want a very quick fix, deleting the rail would very quickly give you a decent L115/AWM at .338 caliber.  Changing the barrel to a smooth external surface with a two stage taper, delete the rail and you have an AWP/G22 at 7.62 NATO. Blackbuck 9 Posted November 3, 2007 It's a good start for a project weapon isn't it Rocko ^^. Personally if you were to make AI stuff make some of the less sen stuff if you could find and or make the models an AS.50 or an AW Covert would be nice... I'm with Rocko on the one you've shown us though it's a franken-rifle.
Jackal326 1181 Posted November 3, 2007 Thanks for the info RockofSL. I'll more than likely include several variations (AWM, AWP etc) in different calibres and such, configurations based on the information RockofSL provided above.
lee_h._oswald 0 Posted November 25, 2007 I would like to ask if there is a chance that we can see a HK MP7A1 in the future. http://www.hkarms.eu/MP7A1.html --- Btw, how is the smg pack going? Thank you. MfG Lee

-HUNTER- 1 Posted December 18, 2007 Thanks for the info RockofSL. You know thats one of the first really positive posts ive read all week! We need some more And @Jackal Do you have a screenshot of the MP7 model your making? Ive searched but nothing came up. Maybee you have a picture of it somewhere on another site or something? Just asking... Offcourse then again I'd probally be pushing my luck asking for a new WIP shot of the MP7?? Im going to spend hours and hours on end at my shooting range in arma with these packs your making.

Jackal326 1181 Posted December 25, 2007 Hi all. First off I'd like to apologise for not posting any updates recently. The reason for that is because there haven't really been any updates worthy of posting. I'm still plodding my way through making the inventory images for the SMG pack, which is being severely hampered by the fact Ive started work in ernest on the Assault-Rifle pack. Suffice it to say, I am having immense amounts of fun working on the RVMAT files (altering values to show the difference in light reflection etc between plastic and metal parts etc), as well as extending my Photoshop skills in modifying the M4A1 base-texture markings to suit the various other rifles based upon it (HK416s, C7s, C8s etc). I was hoping to release the SMG Pack in time for Christmas, but unfortunately that hasn't transpired. Hopefully the time off work around the holidays will grant me a little extra free-time to get these god-damn inventory images done. and allow me to get a release out there sometime soon. @Lee_H._Oswald/ch_123: ch_123 is correct, there will be an MP7A1 in the pack which will be defined as a handgun, due to its small size causing immense clipping into the hand holding the (non-existant) foregrip. As per usual, it will feature several optic variants, as well as suppressed forms. @-Hunter-: I'll hopefully post some more up-to-date screens of the weapons soon, including the MP7A1. Jackal326 1181 Posted January 1, 2008 In other news, a few more screenshots. A few are crap low-res, the rest were taken in the 'Armoury' and are slightly more detailed: http://sjb.gotf.net/arma_weaponsproject/images/SJB_MP5A3_sml.jpg http://sjb.gotf.net/arma_weaponsproject/images/SJB_MP5SD5_sml.jpg http://sjb.gotf.net/arma_weaponsproject/images/SJB_HK53A3_AP_sml.jpg http://sjb.gotf.net/arma_weaponsproject/images/SJB_MP7A1_ZPoint.jpg http://sjb.gotf.net/arma_weaponsproject/images/SJB_MP5SD4_AP_sml.jpg http://sjb.gotf.net/arma_we....sml.jpg http://sjb.gotf.net/arma_we....sml.jpg The MP7A1 will be defined as a secndary weapon (i.e. a handgun) because I'm sick of the holding animations making it look like you'll lose your entire left hand if you fired it. benus 0 Posted January 1, 2008 THX for the update. Really looking foward to the first release. some of these will find their way in my Singleplayer-ArmA as replacements. The MP5SD with Eotech is very nice. Great quality as always. benus ... any chance to see something like this ?! Quote[/b] ]M16/AR15/M4 Co-witness MountOperator maintains a cheekweld position. The mounting system allows you to adjust the height of the optic to the proper level for co-viewing with your iron sights. Iron sight axis typically positioned in lower 25% of the sight's heads-up display window. --> http://www.tjgeneralstore.com/eotech1.jpg http://www.commtechreview.net/firearms/eotret2.jpg not only with the Eotech ... with Aimpoints too maybe. no idea if this a often used method and maybe it will be even harder to use such a combination in ArmA than in real life (from gameplay point of view) ?! but I think it would be nice as an addition. rabbity 0 Posted January 2, 2008 hottness, will the pack be using custom mags or the BIS default mag system?
PSYCHOSIM 0 Posted January 2, 2008 Wow wow wow wow wow..................... Fantastic work!
Jackal326 1181 Posted January 2, 2008 hottness, will the pack be using custom mags or the BIS default mag system? They will be using default magazines (with custom sounds) where possible in a bid to maintain wide-spread usage and the ability to pick up ammunition from dead comrades using the BIS magazines. Where there is no pre-existing magazine (i.e. the MP7s, UMP45s and P90s etc) they will use SJB magazines (unless there has been an ArmA-JAM release that I am unaware of). CameronMcDonald 146 Posted January 2, 2008 Looks great. Just don't forget to decapitalise "world" in your MP5 library description.

-HUNTER- 1 Posted January 2, 2008 Thank you for the picture! The MP7 looks very good indeed. Its good thats its a handgun, that means you can conseal it like handguns are concealed in sahrani life on MP. Its nice for body guard/ private security style missions. echo1 0 Posted January 2, 2008 Nice work Jackal. Quick question, are you making any MP5s with an RAS? example.
Jackal326 1181 Posted January 3, 2008 Nice work Jackal. Quick question, are you making any MP5s with an RAS? example. I've attempted one in the past, but it looked like crap. I'll give it another go for the next pack. On another note: CLICK FOR FULL-DETAIL. Original base-model is by Schmung and original textures by Geno with edits to both by yours truly.
