DAV1D 0 Posted October 1, 2006 ah that sounds alright it looks like the game demands a ton to play with but if there teh specs i shud get away with everything on high with minor fps ^_^
max power 21 Posted October 1, 2006 everything on high? Mmm... Believe it when you see it. I'm sure the view distance setting alone will be enough to make your computer feel like a 486 dx. I can make my current box choke on OFP... it's all a matter of harmonizing the view distance settings with the other detail levels. You should be able to get away with a lot of eyecandy and some reasonable setting tweaking with your current set up, though.
Batukhan 0 Posted October 1, 2006 I'm sure the view distance setting alone will be enough to make your computer feel like a 486 dx. Make that SX :P But don't be scared of the high specs. I know they seem like a lot, but think about it. Which would be better: 1) to get a chance to set the graphics SO EXTREME that no computer on the market will be able to run it OR 2) to get an engine with a limiter, so that you CAN play the game at max with the best system I just think, that in 6 years time, you can still slide the VIEW DISANCE and TEXTURE QUALITY settings higher and higher and get a better picture. It's not that the engine is bad, it's just how much you want it to do...
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted October 1, 2006 Dav1D, you're well up and over the recommended specs, so I'd rest easy on that front. Except maybe the processor... but have you ever tried overclocking? What motherboard are you using? I have found it easy to squeeze at least an extra 300+MHz from a P4 relatively simple in the past. Not sure about the newest Conroes, though. I should like to get my hands on one once I grab a new GFX card.
Bunkers 0 Posted October 2, 2006 AMD 64 3500 2GB RAM 6800GS 256MB That would be my spec's, and I hope this will give me a nice view. If not.. I'll buy better.
Heathen13 0 Posted October 2, 2006 Intel P4 3.2Ghz Dual core (Yes, I know) Processor. 2Gb DDRII Dual Channel RAM. 512mb nVidia 7500. I'm hopeing to get some fairly good results from that. Not amazing graphics but still looking fairly nice.

Not amazing graphics but still looking fairly nice. That piece of junk will never play ArmA Get something decent you cheapo. Nah I'm kidding, but there is no such thing as a nVidia 7500 video card
Heathen13 0 Posted October 2, 2006 Actually there is... it isn't on the website for some reason. This made me think. But I'm 100% positive its a 7500
DeathRow 0 Posted October 2, 2006 I have all the minimum specs except for the graphics card. Do you think it will give me an error if i dont gfx minimum specs?
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted October 2, 2006 Probably not, since BIS aren't as anal retentive as Microsoft (anyone tried to play Rise of Legends with a crappy system? Won't even let you start!. But it will run like a duck with its beak nailed to the floor.
maxqubit 1 Posted October 2, 2006 For my P4 2.8 @ 3.1 / 1 GB RAM i'm going for a moderate 7600 GS AGP silent gigabyte I hope and expect to run decently on 1024x768 and be able to see at least something. Every click over 1000 meters view distance will be greatly appreciated:)

ErAsEr-1 0 Posted October 3, 2006 would ATI radeon 9250 be good enough to run ArmA cause im worried.
ziiip 1 Posted October 3, 2006 would ATI radeon 9250 be good enough to run ArmA cause im worried. Yes, but you would need to give the ventillator on the VGA an extra rotation with your finger so the VGA won't melt.
-CS-SOBR-1st-I-R- 0 Posted October 4, 2006 What I would like to know... only to get a comparison... we all know the clip of those Abrams in a line, advancing on the desert and the Oh58 flying over those thousand T-72s vs. M1A1s What were the specs of the machine where the video was run on... now this was fluent and withough a bit of lag. Mr_Tea 0 Posted October 4, 2006 2 x Dualcore CPU, 4 x SLI ?? Good question. I´m only guessing, and hope the system was weaker.
Metal Heart 0 Posted October 4, 2006 Quote[/b] ]would ATI radeon 9250 be good enough to run ArmA cause im worried. If it's true that ArmA requires pixel shader 2.0 support then I think no, it wouldn't be good enough. Even if it didn't, I guess you'd have to tune down ArmA to look just like OFP or have it running at slideshow pace.
XCess 0 Posted October 4, 2006 With my current computer ArmA would simply fry it  AMD Sempron 2400+ GeForce MX440  my FX got fried 512DDR RAM ad the one I'm on right now runs even slower even with it's 6600 FX and 3200+ Sempron... strange how package PCs run a lot slower than custom made ones isn't it.. Placebo 29 Posted October 4, 2006 The proposed system specs are visible in a number of places including the community wiki, I think this thread serves no real purpose, certainly there is no need for a thread for people to discuss their own PC hardware.
