Brand Spanking New Interview!!!!

Recommended Posts

We can agree on, that ofp is great, but why keep it at that? I cannot see why you guys bitch like young CS-players about something that you can obvously turn on/off

How obvious is it? How do you know that we arent forced to use it? Thats right, you dont, noone knows except BIS, and im not even sure if they know it themselfs confused_o.gif

Its VERY obvious!

Look at this screenie, it clearly have a button that says "close". If you dont like it, dont use it!

Oh, that's just a stupid argument. The missions are of course designed so you need to use all of the characters.

That's just like saying "You don't like flying choppers? Don't worry, you can complete the mission on foot".

Not really. BIS allready said that this feature will only be available AFTER you completed the mission. So a completion unlocks the coop-feature.

I cannot see the problem?

Must've missed that statement by BIS then. Source?

It was in a Czech preview. English translation can be found here:

Unfortunately, I also like to put forth that it's probably too late to change the switch box, however it really is. confused_o.gif

Anyone else concerned by the rather ugly tiling effects of the ground textures? Vegitation will help to break it up, but in the screen shots, the ground looks very tiled. As tiled as old generation games, not something cutting edge. I hope it is just beta and they have yet to refine their landclass data...

Switching will actually be excellent but for reasons other than those stated. For example if you are a soldier and want to switch into civilian clothes, for example, you can't really unless the model is created with extra textures for setobjecttexture in OFP. With Arma it sounds like if you needed to switch the player character to a civilian then you can switch to a different model.

Also in missions you could change outfits/camo etc. So let's say you're playing in the desert but you have on woodland camo. Well now you can switch to a desert camo model.

Also, like in an RTS game you want to become a spy, so you switch into the uniform of the opposing team and try to sneak in.

I think it sounds cool if it's going to work as I think it will. Being able to change to different units/models during the game can open up a lot of new avenues for mission makers.

Oh, and has anyone seen that new cell phone version of OFP on OFP.info that BIS is working on? Man that looks sweet! Definitely worth another delay on Arma so they can finish that up! The 4x4km islands and 6-way MP over bluetooth is gonna rock!

Exactly. That's a feature which was demanded by the community long ago, I don't understand all the recent whining...

Yea ground looks good, maybe we can finally say goodbye to 1024x1024 and 2048x2048 textures just to make good grass =).

Can anyone confirm whether that is an April Fool's joke or not? biggrin_o.gif

Seriously now, I am sure you have heard of the "putting 2 & 2 together" phenomena tounge2.gif

Weird news + posted on April 1st.... tounge2.gif

Yeah, the switching stinks of the baloney "hot-swapping" astral-projection/"demon possession" "feature" of BF2:MC. At least it will break some previous engine limitations.

I'm actually ready to buy a better cell phone in order to play this. I am 100% serious.
