ryankaplan 1 Posted February 26, 2006 Quote[/b] ]THANKYOU JDB!Someone else is starting to realise how silly modern day graphics are! The military does not paint it's stuff so that it reflects light, quite the opposite! *jinef mutters* Told BIS a year ago ... *jinef mutters* I don't see no shining on the vehicles what soever. Ground is pretty shiny though, but that's because jinef only recently watered it.
Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted February 26, 2006 I made an easier read-able version and combined both interviews on one page http://www.arma.dk/news.php?readmore=

lwlooz 0 Posted February 26, 2006 I think the interview sounds pretty good overall There is one thing I dont get tho: Quote[/b] ]"Mission makers want to know if the script commands will be like OFP ones and new ones will be added, or will you start from the very beggining? We use the old scripting with new abilities, so who wants, he can make more, who does not want, can make with what he already knows." Does that mean we can make our own script commands? or does that merely mean we can make our own scripts with no new commands at all.. which would be the most depressing thing EVER (createtrigger,createmarker,setmarkertext,.....) Glad they have working Voice-Chat,hope the Direct-Channel chat is 3d

As long as water is only to the chest, soldiers should be able to walk in it in arma...

My take on it is that all the old commands are present plus some new ones.
funnyguy1 0 Posted February 26, 2006 "Q:What will be the Game 2 maps like? Will there be huge cities and for example trains? A:Even nowadays the engine can make big cities, but they are mostly for military training. The question is if the player will be trapped there or if it will be an interesting fight. Here we need game designer to make perfectly playable game. Unfortunately, the reality is more grey" I don`t understand what this means...We already want big cities in arma, not to mention game2...if the story/AI/missions are realistic enough and able not to look stupid in the urbanized environment, then why not? Game designer? Well, I`m not the expert, but what  does "reality is more grey" mean?
Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted February 26, 2006 It also looks rather odd to me.... It simply doesnt make sense?
Hurby 0 Posted February 26, 2006 Oh yeah sorry maybe I didn't translate that good... It should mean something like: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">The cities that can be seen with our engine are even now very big, but their purpose is mostly military training. The question is, if the big city won't become a trap for the player instead of giving him tactically interesting battle. Here we need a game designer, which will create interesting game from a perfect simulation. The reality is usually worse. If it doesn't make sence even now, it is because it didn't in czech, too. And to be more grey (I think I badly translated it) means to be worse. Hope it helped. And please report any other mistakes or what you don't understand, I'm just 13 and I don't translate so good (and as I said, the translated text is not exactly the same as in czech, but it has the same purpose [except the answer {code} above, which is exact])
chipper 0 Posted February 26, 2006 I think he means the huge cities are for VBS. Hence military training.

As long as the water doesn't reach the head you can walk in the water without damage. I was kind of worried that it said there were no 'single missions' in Game2; that you can do different 'tasks' in which order you please. That sounds kind of unrealistic to me. Game designer? Well, I`m not the expert, but what does "reality is more grey" mean? 1. The german translation of the 2nd part by Lord Perth. http://forum.gamestar.de/gspinbo....ount=45 Hier liegt es am Entwickler, der aus der perfekten Simulation ein spannendes Spiel schafft. Die Wirklichkeit ist für gewöhnliche trister. It's up to the developer to make a thrilling game out of a perfect simulation. Reality is duller normally. So he's talking about balancing gameplay and realism. They want to make a simulation, but they cannot if they don't want to sacrifice gameplay totally, because reality is duller than a game. That's the way i interprete that. edit: Quote[/b] ]I was kind of worried that it said there were no 'single missions' in Game2; that you can do different 'tasks' in which order you please. That sounds kind of unrealistic to me. The game will be more similar to a game in RGP style in this regar, meaning that you'll rather fulfill orders than single missions, and that not necessarily in a particular order. But that's a czech->german->english translation, so beware.

funnyguy1 0 Posted February 26, 2006 big cities in a game2 are a must... Anyway, I hope bis guys played ECP and made improovements which were already in mods like that... Eye candy and ^ above mentioned are the 50% of ArmA`s succes imho, its obvious they must include what`s in ofp already, the rest are completely new features which we`re supposed to know... Am I the only one who still dreams about multi gunners and stuff? :/ It wasn`t mentioned so probably it won`t be included...
Adamicz 3 Posted February 26, 2006 Am I the only one who still dreams about multi gunners and stuff? :/ It wasn`t mentioned so probably it won`t be included... Dont worry about it. I think that with new scripts possibilities won't be for community so hard to make it like now in OFP.
