I hope they fix this in ArmA because, I was just testing the Stringer and Javilen against the Mig-29, and the Javilen managed to take it out in one try, while the stinger could not at all  crazy_o.gif

I hope they fix that bug in the engine, because it would be nice to have SAM only missiles.

Oh, a few things I noticed, but don't know if you knew, if you try to use the mortar (rifle grenade) with the M4, it turns into the M16.

Anyway, still super fun to play, and keep up the good work  notworthy.gif

The damage values can still be adjusted, BIS just used low ones for their stinger (and why nobody but me has attempted to make a decent, realistic MANPADs replacement is beyond me). There are no limitations on the damage values though.

As for the rifle grenades, now that's an engine limitation. The modelspecial command is nifty, but it often causes more problems than it solves. Simply put, the rifle grenade magazine has a defined model that is used when it is loaded in a weapon, it includes the whole weapon, and there is only one model. So if you're rifle grenade can be fired from both M16s and M4s, you can only have 1 model, in this case it's an M16. If BIS could give us more control over weapons, especially something like proxies on weapon models (which are proxies themselves) in ArmA (or Game2), life would be so much easier.

you are aware that the javelin was originally developed as an AA weapon AND it still posseses limited AA capabilities even in its new current role? Granted, i doubt its capable of catching a MIG, although not read anything for or against this

Yeah, against a slow moving chopper, but not a Mach 2+ capable combat aircraft. As has been pointed out, you could say that a potato gun is an AA weapon too

Getting slightly offtopic, there was an article in an Aviation magazine about the last tour for the F-14. The squadron interviewed said that on some CAS missions the Iraqi insurgents would fire RPGs at them. Hehe they'd do anything to get on Al-Jazeera these days. Anyways...

Back on topic, this may help:

Hi folks,

After the ironsights eye-candy show, here comes the FFUR 2006 Patch 1.0 features as promised a couple of days ago:

acu3bh.jpg

apac4mj.jpg

bdu5rf.jpg

Realism Enhancements:

[*]Fixed the loadout of several APCs and MBTs:

-The M1A2 has a loadout of 42 shells (22 APFSDS, 20 HEAT).

-The M1A1 has a loadout of 40 shells (20 APFSDS, 20 HEAT).

-The T-80UM has a loadout of 39 shells (16 APFSDS, 13 HEAT, 10 HE-Frag).

-The T-90E has a loadout of 37 125mm rounds (15 apfsds, 12 heat, 10 he-frag).

-The BMP-2 has 8 x 250 rounds instead of 3 x 250.

[*]M60 Patton replaced by the M1A1 which is actually the second main battle tank of the US Army.

[*]AH-1W Super Cobra replaced by AH-64A Apache (actually used alongside the AH-64D for US Army air support).

[*]Replaced the T-72 by the T-80UM to make the russian gear as in real life and the T-80 was replaced by the T-90E which is today, one of the most effective tanks in the world.

[*]Shilka replaced by the Tunguska and the vulcan by the Linebacker in order to make SAM vehicles of both armies very authentic with some conditions to avoid breaking BIS missions.

[*]Excluding the medic and the AntiAir Specialist, all US Army personnel carry the M4A1 and its variants as a main assault rifle.

[*]Replaced all BIS 'Infantry units' names by more military ones (Rifleman, AntiArmor specialist...etc).

Gameplay and visual Enhancements:

[*]Updated the BDU Soldiers by making them closer to real life ones. The same goes to the ACU soldiers.

[*]Updated the US firearms by exclusive models from SJB.

[*]Replaced the M1A2 by KH/InQ M1A2 3.1.

[*]Updated and included several sound effects.

[*]Removed rock songs that did not fit the BIS missions.

[*]Replaced the previous steyr by the still unreleased IRDF (Irish Defense Forces) mod's Steyr Aug.

[*]Replaced the BIS Uzi with Jackal-SJB's HK MP-5SD.

[*]Added several magazines to ammo crates and to wheeled Vehicles.

[*]Randomized the MBT Explosion script (turrets blowing off script).

[*]Added a flame effect to Antiarmor weapons.

[*]Increased the number of grenadiers grenades.

[*]Added an Airplane to the Civilian side.

[*]Included a detailed section about FFUR magazines and ammo to the FFUR readme.

Bug fixes:

[*]Fixed the CTD that was causing a lot of troubles ingame.

[*]Fixed the M2 gunner animation.

[*]Fixed the AI of AntiArmor specialist.

[*]Fixed the wheels of the T-80UM.

[*]Fixed the Black fadeout in the first cutscene.

[*]Fixed the MP and the ACU configs issues.

And much more...

Special thanks to :

-King homer for his help in defining shells realistic values and for the exclusive version of Inquisitor/King Homer M1A2.

-Jackal (SJB) for providing us several of his still unreleased M4 variants.

-Franze for his nice AH-64 (D/A).

-DKM and Combat for their gorgeous Tunguska and Linebacker.

-RHS for giving us a fixed version of their pretty T-80UM.

-IrDF mod for their good Steyr Aug.

-CSJ for his very nice Airplanes.

And Huge thanks to all people who daily follow us and who support us!

Good to get some concrete news smile_o.gif

I have to say that I'm slightly worried about the use of the Tunguska and Linebacker though. Won't this change totally change missions they're used in? I mean, they're 10x more capable than the Shilka/Vulcan huh.gif

Moreover, helicopters will be equipped with 'Voice alert and Flare systems'.

Just incase you're interested in implementing them.

Steiner® Military R 7 x 50 Binoculars

OFP Engine doesn't allow including 2 different Binoculars and the current Binocular we implemented fit with both sides.

Quote[/b] ]Are you going to use the CBT ones?

Indeed.

Quote[/b] ]Oh, and how about adding a decent looking GP-25 grenade launcher sight. Gotta love that weapon!!

Haven't found any decent picture of the GP-25 Ironsight thus far, and the actual 'virtual' sight isn't that bad IMO.

Will these 'conditions' be the removing of the missiles? There's the problem I see crazy_o.gif

Negative, and that's why the flare system has been incorporated,

Plus, the Tunguska has been defined to make it using more its 30mm cannons than its missiles.

Good to hear. So does that mean that aircraft flares will be more effective now, in general?

The Tunguska wouldn't represent a serious threat to Jet fighter planes as long as they would keep flying fast and high.

And the 'Flare system' that would be implemented to Helicopters might not be efficient (like any other flare system) if the Tunguska would make an effective use of its cannons.

MP Beta-tests will start as soon as we make sure we fixed all of SP bugs.

No worries, though, the release's very close.

Looks nice!!

I know I asked it before but can you keep pilots from ejecting from helicopters when shot down?

It´s unrealistic and looks stupid!

Maybe you tried to change it and it is not possible?

BTW now I really like the plane explosions!

GP-25 dosent have a GL sight. if you look at the pictures of AK assualt rifles with GL attached, there arent any special GL sight, only the rear [ in the AK its kind of "middle" ] and the forward sight. [for example, in m-16/m4 variants with GL {such as the m203 - I dont know any other West GL's} you can actually see the GL sight.

Hers an AK74 with GP25 :

I guess it dosent have GL sight because the Soviet war theory is based on All-Out Assualt with charges and etc., and they just shoot the Grenades towards the enemy without really aiming [you shot - you shot, if you hit - all better] [thats why the AK is more effactive in "sparying" but not in a long range single shots {-talking about the first ak's , such as the 47-} ]

Yo TB84, looking good!

"The Tunguska has been modified so that it uses its 30mm cannons more often" - for me, the 30mm was the problem, could shred up anything in their sights. Hope youve toned down damage and accuracy

@Spy17: Preventing pilots from ejecting from choppers has been done, but Im sure most would rather have it in. Also, it is possible with KA-50 and possibly KA-52
