OFP2 packaging

Recommended Posts

I think a little piece of paper should be included within the box it ships in, so when people open it, they can find a piece of paper that has some important web sites located on it.

OFP.info, OFPEC, and others.

Perhaps even some links to mods that have been released, or mods that are worth looking into... this will give every buyer the potential to see what's behind the gates of the original game.

Any ideas?

(this should be done for AA also)

Maybe even have a subfolder in the game's start menu entry to "Fansites" containing URL shortcuts, some games have done such a thing in the past smile_o.gif

That would'nt be a half bad idea either...they probably would have a better chance of seeing it too

Maybe some info about a few mods during the installation?

Then it would be hard to miss it. wink_o.gif

Hmm, that reminds me, Ti0n3r. For the love of God have a better sequence during the installation period. For OFP CWC the Russian National Anthem followed by the OFP theme tune started to get real annoying (I've had to reinstall so many times tounge_o.gif ). Could make a list of fan sights one of the screens on an installation load, but I personally prefer the "Fansight" link in the Start Menu.

what's wrong with the russian national anthem biggrin_o.gif imo that's the only nice part in re-installing OFP biggrin_o.gif

an option to kill the sounds would suffice. so you can choose between the russian athem or whatever you have qued in wmp.

About the mods... Maybe a Flashnews option that can be accessed in the main menu? it would make it a bit over-commercial though perhaps... or.. well, you know tounge_o.gif .

1) An overview of the default keyboard configuration which has an adhesive part on the back to stick it on somewhere. wink_o.gif

Ie.. under your screen.

2) CD-key should be on the disk itself.

Yer, the CWC installation was great. All other games have boring ones.

Flash shoot'em'up game while the main game is installing or some kind of quiz related to military vehicles and weapons. Sort of like the one in AA special forces training. Picture of a vehicle, question and several answers to choose from. Several difficulty settings and obviously results display. smile_o.gif

Unless my memory is failing me haven't there been games in the past which had simple and basic fun games to play whilst installing or loading the game?

That would also come handy when waiting in Multiplayer lobby.

I know there will be JIP , but as it is a feature and I mainly play coop...well I only play coop biggrin_o.gif ...I guess that JIP will be limited used there, apart from maybe a spectating mode that lets you join the game. How about some basic games accesible from the MP lobby, like Angelina (XBox) Strip-poker, Guba´s missile defense or Pac-Gastovski. Maybe the games can be excluded from OFP engine so that there can be minigames implemented by community.

Just an idea smile_o.gif

I think it's a good idea to have a unit recognition test like AA, it would help military noobs into the game. smile_o.gif

Yes, one time someone online shot a Humvee I was driving because they thought that Humvees were East, I think a unit recoginition test would be a good idea wink_o.gif

I remember playing Pong in the loading screen of some racing game, but that was a long time ago and I forgot the name of the game.
