New title for FLASHPOINT2

Recommended Posts

Suma's first title for OFP was Poseidon. Every good fan know title Poseidon. Operation Poseidon can speak plenty. Codemasters haven't registred title Poseidon.

Real Virtuality is title for engine and for game sounds not good.

I should have added a smiley sooner ... fixed now

I know the title Poseidon and that every true fan knows it, but OFP2 isn't meant to be bought only by true fans, and from a 'untrue' fan's field of view I can imagine that Operation Poseidon doesn't sound too interesting ...

But hey, it's a possibility

I would like title Operation Flashpoint2, but one from many alternatives is Operation Poseidon. Codemasters are s.w.i.n.e.(s.) crazy_o.gif

I bless BIS and I hope for apposite title for their game.

Operation

Flashpoint

Combined Arms

or any combination of these. And bsides there is already a thread on this topic.

Why can't Combined Arms or Operation be used? There's plenty of games called Opeartion:whatever, and why would codies have copyrighted "Combined Arms"?  rock.gif

Sry, but I don't believe in partnership Codemasters @ BIS.

I heard about new from Codemasters - ofp.info

quote:

The Codemasters' Community Liaison Officer has announced today that they will publish Operation Flashpoint 2, he posted the following text on the Codemasters forum in this thread. However, no official statement has been given by BIS about it.

Operation Flashpoint 2 will be published by us and will not be a dumbed down arcade shooter as many fear. Flashpoint stands for military sim gaming and veering off that track is something we don't plan on doing. There are indeed many plans for the Flashpoint Community, of which I know you will all be excited by. Alas I can't say much more yet, so keep your eyes peeled and your ears open.....

So the Question is:

# Has Codemasters hired a new developer (so not BIS) to create OFP2, as they own the legal rights to the name...?

OFP2 not title, but words. Bad idea. Game must apposite title.

for example: "Military invasion" ; "COPS" (Contingency Operations Plans)

I have no good ideas for what the game should be called, but BIS should change it's name to "Big Brass Ones". Look at what happened to Ghost Recon e.c.t. These good people have kept their cool and refused to follow the path of crappy, arcade-style console ports that everyone else seem to have taken.

Apart from our respect and admiration (and a bit of our money) for what they've accomplished so far, BIS deserves our grattitude for keeping the realistic, tactical FPS (for PC) genre alive.

Spot on.

(Think they'll *always* have that)

I actually liked a title suggested by someone in AA thread:

Resistance: Second Wave

Yes, Armed Assault 2 is good idea.

4 Apollo: In 2010 - old man as Guba will be dead blues.gif

-in 2010 - not Cold War Crisis

OFP1 is history.

OFP2 is modern coflict - title must be apposite !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least it sounds almost like a military term. And it doesn't really have to state 2010 anywhere in the name.

Since it was Operation Flashpoint : Cold War Crisis, why not just change Cold War Crisis with a catchy term or phrase that reflects the current and impeding situations that it will be based on since it is in the very near future?
