OK I'm doing a bit of house keepping this week i'll post a proper update at the end of the week but there is some progress.

SSPAR is now at Version .92ALPHA (3 sided Radar building)

- Its now enterable

- has internal and external ladders

- Lower building is a new model.

Aircraft Shelters:

Nato Type 1 - Minor LOD issue fixed just need sounds

Nato Type 2 - Improved model

Nato Type 3 - New model but has Geo Lod issue

Soviet Type 1 - New Model - No textures

Low Generic 1- (2 Door) - Has Res Lod issues - undergoing counselling for flashing issue.

Low Generic 1 -(1 Door) - needs Sounds.

Generic 3 (2 Door) - Derived from the OPGWC ones - needs retexturing and minor details.

Generic 3  (1 Door) - Derived from the OPGWC ones - needs retexturing and minor details.

The Island is another problem...at the minute Test Island one is covered in placeholders, its not a pretty sight but its good enough to test on and thats about it.

To get it complete to the standard i'm happy with means finishing off about 20 airport buildings and 30+ support objects and a number of 'middle eastern' style buildings and objects.  The models are pretty simple but texturing is taking a long time.

Hopefully i'll do an update later this week and will release some of the unfinished projects for the rest of the community to finish of if they want to.

How're the 2 Tornados and the Nimrod coming along?

Both Tornados need cockpits - its the bit i hate doing crazy_o.gif And the weapons need sorting...BLU755 and Brimstone.

The Nimrod has some MP problems and the Cockpit needs finishing and the Inboard flaps needs texturing.

I'll do a full update later in the week.

Ummmm! Harrier is good, unlike the faster jets it will be good for the scooting about the islands without going miles out of the way! yay.gif

Well the Harrier has been around for a while.  It kept getting shelved due to the lack of decent VTOL scripts.

I have been promised the use of a new system but testing isnt exactly going too well right now  confused_o.gif

But Even if its only a limited or conventional system I'm hoping to release it.

Wouldn't carrying Brimstones make it a Harrier Gr.9? I didn't think the Gr.7 could be equipped with Brimstones, hence the harrier fleet it being upgraded to Gr.9/9A standard so that it can fire them along with StormShadow (and have Pegasus Mk.107 engines fitted).

Anyway, more RAF stuff the better!

The Trials were done on the GR7 - I think the only difference is the sensor suite. The Brimstone uses an uprated sensor suite with higher power requirements. I think the decision not to roll Brimstone out to the Harrier GR7 fleet was based on the need to upgrade the electrical system.

But they make a nice CAS weapon and this is a game so why not smile_o.gif

I have seen a first flight of a GR-7 some years ago at RAF Laarbruch! I really like that aircraft and I dont understand why there arent any well made Harriers. Using the VTOL can stick em in a forest with some (RSKL biggrin_o.gif ) camo nets!

I didnt know about the GR-7 actually! And It seems the building packs are allmost done. Could you like release them first before any of the planes. Because I can then quickly build meh a nice shelter area. smile_o.gif

Its not cancelled it just on hold - i need to scripts for it first - the model is nearly 100% Jaguar is doing the Textures. It just needs the ground units and contol scripts to me up to scratch.

Or do they have whole vehicles for that? They were controlled from the US?

And yes the FLK team made a nice harrier but the VTOL landing the thing they do the most doesnt work. And its a sea harrier not a nice green one. Yes there is also a GR-3 out there somewhere but it doesnt have VTOL at all...

I would really like having the Gr-7 harrier ingame. Operate from the forest base on mapfact nogova for instance.

Yeah the Predator will have both the trailer units that make up the control system.

Recently there are also converted Hummers that can control upto 4 Predators both the A & B.

The VBS Harrier uses almost the same system as Klink's FLK Sea Harrier with the added bonus of a working brake so its easier to use.  Unfortunately you cant legally bring VBS stuff into OFP so i have a friend working on something similar.  So far it isnt too successful but we're trying.

I've seen 2 GR3's in game neither were espically accurate but once the FLK Mod gets released Klinks GR3 will knock your socks off smile_o.gif

ahhh that sounds good.

Yeah the vertical landing didnt work right on the FLK harrier. I could take off out of the woods but not land because I couldnt slow the plane down enough. And the nose whent down a bit so I couldnt fly it properly. That was the biggest problem IMO with it. The rest is great, Ive even flow with B61's under the wing! crazy_o.gif

Ok since everyone is pestering me about the L96 and L115 here's a screenie.

The pack is coming along nicely. The plan is to overwrite the BETA class names so it should easily fit into any missions you've made with the earlier rifles.

What’s new?

Well new models - less vertices, more detail

New Textures - All new textures on most of the models.

- Factory Green

- Desert

- Winter

- Tactical Black

New "Camo" models - The first BETA was a quick camo job - this version has a more 'realistic' setup.

3 New Reticules (sights) - Replaces the unpopular tournament sight.

What versions are you going to do?

I'm going to do 3 different colour schemes where appropriate:

- Factory Green

- Desert

- Winter

And for the AE it will have one colour scheme - Black.

L96A1 - (Pre AICS version) Pre 2000 issue to the UK Armed forces.

-- Fixed 4x Scope

-- Variable 4-10x Scope

L115A1 - (AICS Receiver)

-- Fixed 8x Scope

-- Variable 4-10x Scope

AE .308 Tactical - Basically a Police L96A1 using the AICS chassis system.

Which sights are you using?

Main sight is a modified version of the Leutchab L12 with a "ladder" main post to help with ranging - this will be used for the zoom scopes.

EDIT - Little comment for the 'ultra reality freaks' - No, i am not going to use the original issue 'post' sight that is issued to the Army. With the limits that the OFP engine imposes on zoom settings its not possible to properly simulate the functions of a real variable telescopic sight.

Hopefully that should answer most questions apart form the obvious, "When are you going to release it?"
