Not realy that impressed withe the pictures only thing I see here that OFP can't doo is that shadows are projected on too other objects. I don't know wheter Im impressed or just don't care for DF terrain. Grass looks to be the same as in HD2 its looks cool but its only present in a limited view distance around you and is more anoing than helpfull, don't think the Ai is affected by it like in HD2. Should be no wonder if bulletdrop and realisem is a town in russia smile_o.gif . It also looks that shadow is only supported at very close range too, trees apparently drop no shadow much longer away than just around you.(somebody should make replacement trees for OFP). Over all I think they are trying to mix DF, OFP, soldner and HD2 sounds good but if moving around is enything like HD2 then is not a game for me and I uhnestly don't think it will be as good as OFP, it problery dosen't come with free editing tools(I know OFP did not had em either in the start but they are here now).

Acctualy i think I gonna same my mony on this one and save up for VBS insted and in a fare future OFP2.

Yeah I agree on the "movement" part, it is what I dislike most from H&D2, hope they will make it less bulky feeling to it.

In a small interview I saw today there wasthe line:

"Expect to see Enemy in Sight for PC towards the end of the year"

Maybe this will make BIS release some info on OPF2 soon then.

... some healthy competition is good for everyone  wink_o.gif

*cough* this isnt competition its way behind it *cough*

Its called catching up to the competition ....

tounge_o.gif

i agree tounge_o.gif

plus like someone said earlyer but i cant quote 2 differnt people lol

that BIS might be keeping the features of ofp2 quite so other game makers cant copy and try to compete.. then when they think that this game is 2 far in develope ment to change BANG we get some news on ofp2 biggrin_o.gif

but we might be totaly wrong.. rock.gif

Well, trees and shadows? I dont think many people use object shadows in OPF and they have to come up with compromises in a game that is both huge scale and looks decent, anyway OPF shadows are not even worth mentioning here has the game actualy looks better without them. We shouldnt judge the game so fast from 2 screens and an interview, the terrain doesnt look DF, the game is not H&D3 nor soldner2 and it could turn out good, we dont know yet though the pics do look better than OPF, surely the game will be diferent, maybe the view distance will be very inferior, maybe it doesnt come with an editor, but maybe there are other things that the game will do better than OFP does atm rock.gif .

Go ahead and save your money, even if the game turns out a great one you will be saving 50 for a animal pack...

I always use shadows and yes they make the game look alot better. The shadows are pretty advanced considering the game was released 2001.

well ofp has been called a pure military/infantry simulator, and this new game is called a 'military themed shooter". A shooter means that the player slides around the game environment smoothly and the weapons are always centered to the player's view. Ofp has much more realistic movement and I love that you can't aim while moving. I've played tons of shooters, but they all feel so limited after playing ofp. Once I've seen all the enemies, levels and weapons, I usually use some cheats to have some fun then its uninstalled and I go back to ofp. Another thing I love about ofp compared to shooters is that there is no 'mood' to it. Halo and half life have a mood set by ambient music and sound effects, but ofp is like if you went to this real island and stood there in real life this is what it would look and feel like. In order for someone to make a good replacement for ofp they would have to break a few copyright laws smile_o.gif

I mean that they uses terrain that just copies its self to make a large landscape like DF.

I use shadows makes the game much prityer and looks more realistic.

I am prity sure that the game will do somethings better than OFP but of all the shooter games i have played I have always been more anoid over the things I could not do in those games than over the things I could not do in OFP.

Oh year I bet this game whont come with animals biggrin_o.gif .

H&D2 had dogs and birds... smile_o.gif

Sabre Squadron co-op is quite fun if you can get a group of serious players wink_o.gif

Just looks like VBS to me.. perhaps not even as good.

OFP with nice textures, maybe.

Either way, it's pointless.

Remember Atari? Responsbile for such crimes as "Enter the Matrix"... still makes me shudder.

Adding poorly made techno to a game everytime you kill someone does NOT make it cool

Here's my $0.02:

Who cares if its an OFP clone?

The more people that get into this genre of total battlefield simulation, the better it will be for every single one of us in the end. We'll have competition, finally, and possibly BIS or somebody will try to outdo each other and pushing themselves closer to meet everyone's expectations. And while chances are EiS won't be as good as OFP1 or 2, it means more people will be drawn into the genre and more community talent will develop in the end - the more EiS fans we can point in OFP's direction. The more exposure these games get, the better for us. The better these games get, the better for us.

Dont bother, the original is awsome but the FA was a rushed money grabber wink_o.gif .

I will have to agree with Hellfish6, OPF raised the bar but no others have tried to surpass it, BF and JO have ventured into the genre but they were very inacurate and arcadish, its good for us all to see more development going into total battlefield simulation, lets hope it turns out a good game smile_o.gif .

I hope OFP2 will be the story before OFP1 in the 70'ties but it should support night vision and thermal sighting.

I dont care what era OFP2 is as long as there are MOD's (and good people working on free addons) and open ended ofp modability we can very much make everything ourselves , and since BIS said OFP1 addons will be OFP2 compatabile backwards so all weve got to do is to update slightly the old ones and we'll be good to go.

I dont care which era OFP2 lands in therefore biggrin_o.gif

The thing which fail games such as these Enemy in sight is also the modability and mission-editor factor , OFP has the most easiest editor interface ive seen to date , all other games have damn confusing editors all clumsy and not well built (deltaforce ex.)
