Finally, here it is:

M1A2 SEP v.1.0

After 2 month hard work and a lot of problems, it's finished for a first release. As you may read in the A&M Discussion thread, we've included a whole bunch of scripts and nice features to the excellent model from Sigma6 edited by Inquisitor.

We've tried to make it as realistic, even if it's now not as realistic as without any features.

Because of less information about the M1A2 SEP in the Net, we needed to take what we get, so it is maybe not as realistic as some of you think it should be.

Because it's late night over here and I'm tired I'll just post the readme for further information.

Warning!

The MPAT proximity script is only working with manned vehicles.

The STAFF script is only activated with clear line of fire to the target. Trees, bushes, houses will interrupt it and the script won't be activated. This is caused due engine limitations.

Also the tracers for the maingun and the coax may not be visble while playing OFP on low fps.

We've already planned an update for january 2005

It'll include

-reworked scripts (APAM script, STAFF script)

-reworked effects

-new camo versions

-new scripts (AI using correct ammo for specific targets etc)

and some nice extras.

I think that's all.

Superb work, I love the tracer effect on the machine gun. Seems to be on par with the T80-UE from Sigmas pack, 2 shots from either to destroy each other, not bad smile_o.gif

Just one minor issue to report. Staff rounds will hit enemy armor at their weakest point and do significant damage.

If you ever played M1 Tank Platoon 2 there is a great in-game Staff round, with effects you can look at. It really reflects how deadly these rounds are.

the tracers are nice on the main gun rounds

but the mg ones are kinda weak.

and the tracers disppear once you add infantry.

it is ok but i don't liek the MG tracers or the every 4th round tracer..

oh also the gunners sight is in the wrong positions it should be on the right side above the gunner not over the barrel..

another thing the scripts seem to turn off when more then 10 vehcials/ infantry on the map. also after awhile the tracer scripts just stop working.

it seems a little to script heavy...

i think the MG tracer thing should jsut be removed.

and try to make it use less scripts.

Have you put a "Friendly Fire" script into this?

I've actually been shot twice by a vehicle in my own platoon when practicing against empty targets.

im not wowed easily.. but i must say... wow..

i just got done replacing the default M1A2 (dont worry Y2K3ers ill explain shortly in my topic how) and took it for a spin and that was truely and godly amazing. very very very nice.

i like the 4 man crew solution, it makes a lot of sense.

on the "bug" side of things, i think the the mg is not zeroed in the optics, it shoots low, so if i zoom in i almost cant see were im hitting.

As for the MPAT round...i had a hind hover 200m away and repeatedly shot at it with MPAT, gunner missed, i missed...i was about to quit when a whole load of über lag efects started near the hind, almost 30 seconds after i shot my rounds? what happened?

but this is an excellent machine.

The tracers disappear on low fps for better performance, they are generaated with the drop command and if you have low fps, I think under 30fps they'll disappaer. This caused due engine limitations I think.

Maybe you shot with APAM instead of MPAT?

I didn't tested it on any mods like Y2K3 or EECP or ECP.

matter of fact... i replaced the default M1 with this one BEFORE i tested it biggrin_o.gif i was like "fuck it.. this is good enough.. change... test... WOW wow_o.gif "

course this was 3 hours after i got done cursing out the config for not reading it right the first time tounge_o.gif
