bigus_dikus 0 Posted June 8, 2005 Campain is looking great so far Pickett I'm on the third Mission and still alive without saving as for game play ,enableradio false in the init.sqs file is almost a must as radio chatter kills the atmoshere. on the scouts mission, in the init.sqs I think it should be "removeallweapons player" and not "player removeallweapons this". I think this should fix the error message. Other than that it's been great so far. Sepe 1 Posted June 8, 2005 Man, I want to HUG sanc! Not just did he become a saint by creating the pistol anims replacement, but now he is a god for me! He MUST have created 'em thinking about this mod... But we need a more "western" style too, with the arm less straight, a bit lower... You know. I was wondering if someone might alter them accordingly and post a link to the new "correct" file that we need to use these excellent, era-fitting, animations. I know many of us are laymen, to use the term, and are pseudo-inept when it comes to understanding/making such alterations. ...and oh yeah, as it is the first time I've posted in this thread, I wanted to say what incredible work everyone who is involved in this project is doing. Triglav 0 Posted June 10, 2005 @tsala No, I had no clue. When I started it was a tiny wee little mod, just for my own use...then all you people joined in and it became what it is today. And it looks like the monster is still growing... @WhiteCastle & others Pistol anims are being reworked as we speak (some small alterations are being made in some pre-shooting anims as well, to make it completely compatible with CWMOD). Luckily I didn't give up and saw the development of this great mod. You guys have done a great effort on this mod. Past, present and future members. And I see Triglav hasn't quit like he threatened to... That's great! And if you like, there still is 50€ in my wallet... I'll find some better use for my money though. No, not beer. gavinthecat 0 Posted June 10, 2005 Yup im still about, im working on something mysterious and special for ya all, be careful on the expansion of these old units tho, id like a bit of talking on that first ;) im available on msn, it looks nice, but this new unit pack does replace the old one, so if ur wanting to make new units chaps rather than take the old one and edit it, talk to me, At the moment im also looking at some custom animations also, tho one thing we do have is a new face pack of about 30 rough random faces, these will be automatically be applied to guys, u wont need to type blah blah. Triglav 0 Posted June 10, 2005 Err Gavin...oure agreement was specifically about NOT replacing the old units with your reworks, but offer them as an extra alternative. Therefore you're not to use the same unit ID's, but give your units new ones. ProfT made good expansions based on existing ones, and some more are coming up. The authority of this mod was based on me acting as editor after you LEFT as mod leader triglav, I took over as mod leader to administrate work. Now triglav, the old work u want to keep eh? Triglav 0 Posted June 10, 2005 I didn't make the units just released, ProfT did. And Pickett made the campaign. You just complained about their work being released. So, now we have to ask you permission to release stuff in a mod we made? Our rifles are used by Napoleonic mod as well, so are the smoke effects, bayo scripts and anims. Those were all released to the general public to use as they came from them as well. But my old units are my work, it was agreed that your units would expand the mod but not replace all units we've made. BECAUSE: People downloading stuff should have THE RIGHT TO DECIDE which units they wish to play with. You know our initial agreement was your conversion of the mod, but not by removing old units, but by adding new ones of the same type, that people can use according to their own preference. Fact is, the new units seem to posess the special ability to be invisible, as i have yet to see one. Much less then recieving any to test my campaign with. (I finally gave up waiting) Instead have to learn here that you expanded your field of expertise to animating as well wich is a most welcome in general, but does that tell me that after several postponements I’m in for another one ? gavinthecat 0 Posted June 10, 2005 Yup well, im off to another land, where i might feel a little more love, I am quitting cwmod, because i want you to be honest here chaps, love me or hate me, i aint exactly been made to feel too welcome, (and some would say i never was) In any case im going to make my own mod, cos I feel way too much like a pariah here, and im working my ass flat out, picket, moaning about the units? the team beta is tonight... But see how long it takes u to make units, weapons, cannon retextures and new AI combat, in the same time in the midst of ur exams... Triglav is retired (he may change this) cwmod can fall to whoever wants to be admin, (if it even has one) I updated a lot of cwmod stuff, that we can share with the 2 mods, for exclusive stuff im sure we'll keep that to ourselves, but in good spirit we can share technology and scripts as they come active. gavinthecat 0 Posted June 11, 2005 Righty oh, well for u guys who were following the units, dont worry, there not all going away, im simply going to utilise them in a new mod focussing on the civil war, (bit of the wild west) and for some post war units for the mexican civil war. I'll get my own thread eventually, but given our mods arent in competition and are sharing technology, (there is no reason for anything too bad to feel i think) In any case Picket, the 'something mysterious' was in fact a new GUI, ive converted it for the new mod which will be called 'House Divided' although you already have a gui at cwmod, if u need any help improving it, i can offer some tips i learned, in any case heres a pic http://img148.echo.cx/my.php?image=gui8nf.jpg Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
