I voted for "email" because "both email+ICQ" is missing... smile_o.gif

I rarely used ICQ in the last months (too time-consuming: "Oh, hello, how are you...*later* really? ... *muchlater* ...ok, cu.), but checked my emails nearly every day (fast: "Something new? No? Fine.").

Oh, and with email you can have more than 150 contacts... biggrin_o.gif

Yup, I use trillian too. It's a pretty good progam, don't know of any contact limits. All total (AIM+ICQ+MSN+YAHOO) I have about 100.

Yep, trilian is the best. It combiens all good programs with a nice interface and better sounds then ICQ (AO, sounds like the teletubies made the sounds...)

Trillian. I use it a lot, but only with close real-life friends and for work. I have around 10 persons total in my contact list.

For the rest, I use e-mail. Less intrusive and you don't have to reply immideately.

In windows i use miranda. It has many nice plugins to customize, and i have several hundred contacts atm in icq, aim and msn, so 150 shouldn't be a problem. I used trillian before. Didn't use mirabilis/aol clients for a looooong time.

Trillian & Email

33/325+ contacts online right now...

of which:

80% never come on line

15% that I never talk to

4% who I always talk to

1% who I always talk to but completely ignore me

in which the average conversation sounds like:

All of them suck, but everyone uses a different one so I am forced to have all 3 installed.

Yeah, Trill(ian) is very good. I love the RSS and email plugins. For Jabber though I usually use Exodus(had some problems w/ Trill's Jabber plugin). On Linux GAIM or Kopete for the most part. smile_o.gif

I'm using ICQ since I got Internet

I've more than 250 contacts and I talk with 60% of'em every day.

*edit*

The newer ICQ versions like ICQ Pro 2003b or ICQ 4 are shit.

Best version is still the Pro 2003a. Running smooth and is stabile.

No, you can use trillian or miranda which can understand all those three (and more) protocols.

Actually, i know of very few people using msn or aim at all. Most people here in europe seem to use icq.

Everyone I know use Msn, it's kinda the standard.

Yeah same here.

These things seem to differ quite a bit depending on where you live, what your age is, and what your interests are.

A very computer interested person who's 20+ is more likely to have ICQ then MSN.

Whilst people (younger in particular) with mostly (or only) RL friends seem to prefer MSN.

These two examples apply to Scandinavia and are just rough estimations.

It would be interesting to see some statistics on these messengers. I wonder if there is any?

Trillian was really buggy for me. Might have been an older version but I am not wasting my time installing it again.

What's up with triallian messing with the contact lists? I've seen it happen to several of my friends.
