the_shadow 0 Posted August 4, 2004 can´t you pleeease name the units in english in the editor? i really hate trying to find the unit i´m looking for when making a mission (or yust fooling around in the editor) and i cant understand a single word of french.... it´s like... "hm, i need a machinegunner.... is this a machinegunner... or is it a sniper... oh well, we try..." *preview* "NOOOOOO, not a stupid medic!!!! i want a machinegunner...." 15 tests later "ARRRRRGHHHHHH, where´s that damn machinegunner... hate this F****** mod/addonpack..." *you wish to delete OFrP?* "YEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS" this was what happened last time... so please, give me english names or atleast a guide that translates the names and that i can print... GoOB 0 Posted August 4, 2004 Imagine how it is for those non-Swedes playing SFP Oook, give me a medic.... Err, no not some forest troll with a little wool cap on his head! (Jägare) Really, it isn't that hard... But I can understand how you feel, I learned the names of the units quite quickly so I don't share your frustration. I think it has a certain charm to it (the unitnames being in french that is) Just a tip, the machinegunners I think have the name of the weapons after them (ANF1, ANF1 Legeré, PARA). And they are called Mitraleur (sp?). Also, sniper = Tireur de elite. Or Tireur de precision, long time since I actually played OFrP
the_shadow 0 Posted August 4, 2004 hrm, if im not mistaking i personally did a translation for all the units to be shipped with SFP 3.0... and i´ll probably do it again for SFP 4.0 and i will probably write something specific about the units too.. would be happy if OFrP could do this too, in english
Ayorros 0 Posted August 4, 2004 Quote[/b] ]can´t you pleeease name the units in english in the editor?i really hate trying to find the unit i´m looking for when making a mission (or yust fooling around in the editor) and i cant understand a single word of french.... we've added a stringable.csv in the infantry pack with english, italian, spanish, german and czech translation. But it'll not translate every word in the editor. Some non-speaking french players said us they like french name for units because it's a little bit "exotic". So we have decided to keep the soldier's type in french (Fantassin, Parachutiste or Legionnaire) and to translate the speciality in english so it looks like that (in english) Légionnaire (Machinegunner) Legionnaire (Officer) Légionnaire (Radio Operator) ... "exotic" names with understandable functions for every non-speaking french players
the_shadow 0 Posted August 4, 2004 ahh, thats perfect as long as there is some sort of english specification of what type of unit it is... thanks

(helicopter pilot and fighterpilot) Will you consider making versions of both without helmets in the future for those "rescue the downed pilot" missions ? Looking forward to playing around with these new units

Hôpdeux 0 Posted August 5, 2004 Are there any updates on the pilot models? (helicopter pilot and fighterpilot) The helicopter pilot is identical to reality. A pilot of Gazelle chopper and another on provided Puma chopper give us a lot of pics of his behaviour, even the below of the soles (you will be able to see them in external sight). AKM 0 Posted August 7, 2004 If you check their forums, the signals I'm getting are that the release will be around 22-2400 zulu - so we're talking 20-2400 GMT possible release window. Don't hold your breath yet. Also, last time OFrP released, they overshot by a few days (Two point Five days, to be exact) but there are no signs of that yet, so there will soon be another reason to be happy.
