ran 0 Posted June 28, 2004 so far we have : George Clooney Me Sean Connery For Ding, we need somebody short, tough looking and hispanic typed. Raymond Cruz would do, just like in Clear and Present Danger, but wouldn't he be a little bit ageing ?

shadow 6 Posted June 28, 2004 Raymond Cruz would do, just like in Clear and Present Danger, but wouldn't he be a little bit ageing ? Ding is'nt exactly a schoolboy either. From Ding's BIO in RvS: D.O.B. 1968.01.12 He's 36 years old. I don't know how old Cruz is but he looks like something around that age.

No he dident In that movie he is not Ding Chavez i don't remember the excat name but it aint Ding besides Ding is and assulter not a sniper, Its two different stories Clark for exampel is black and dies in the stories whit Harrison Ford. Oh and a note Eddie Pirce as fare as i remember(or it was meany of the other) is a Game carater and it not in the real R6 team. Im loking forward to this film But I am interested in how they are gonna chach the atmosfer and the prity long and very carater changing story it took me a couple of weeks to read the 800 pages book and in a film on 1.5/2 hours I dont think you can get most of the storie and the meany aspects in a shouch short time. But if you only film the assults them maby but it is much deeper than that. A must is that they only use MP5/10, that Homer Jonston use Ramington 700 and the greman sniper Walther 2000 and that one of the assulters carry a M60. BoweryBaker 0 Posted June 28, 2004 most of you guys are like "oh john woo this and that" but you forget that he launched the career of chow yun fat. John woo has some pretty suspenceful action sequences and he really like pistols i think. I've seen some John Woo films and he does some amazing things with guns and film. I think its going to be a blockbuster because when people say John Woo they know what its going to be some pistols and ricochet sparks and motorcycles and grenades n stuff. sputnik monroe 102 Posted June 28, 2004 Eddie Price was a character in the book. Sean Connery is way to old to play him. If I recall corectly the only guys in the game from the book are , Chavez, Clark, Lousille,Johnston, Weber, and I'm not sure but I think Jorg was to.
ebud 18 Posted June 28, 2004 most of you guys are like "oh john woo this and that" but you forget that he launched the career of chow yun fat.  John woo has some pretty suspenceful action sequences and he really like pistols i think.  I've seen some John Woo films and he does some amazing things with guns and film.  I think its going to be a blockbuster because when people say John Woo they know what its going to be some pistols and ricochet sparks and motorcycles and grenades n stuff. but his movies are far from the level of realism one would expect... or hope to see in a movie such as this. I'd rather watch an assault team slowly take 15 minutes to slowly sneak into position, the tension mounts, then BOOM the assault happens. In a J. W. film, I bet we see them rushing in with bullets flying everywhere, slow motions bullet time, etc crappy etc. Now if Ridly Scott directed it Or at least ANYONE who doesn't have  crappy whiz bang hollywood/shootem' up style. At least if Scott did it, it would look authentic and it would at least try to be realistic. You watch. It'll be as bad as SWAT.
Necromancer- 0 Posted June 28, 2004 most of you guys are like "oh john woo this and that" but you forget that he launched the career of chow yun fat. Â John woo has some pretty suspenceful action sequences and he really like pistols i think. Â I've seen some John Woo films and he does some amazing things with guns and film. Â I think its going to be a blockbuster because when people say John Woo they know what its going to be some pistols and ricochet sparks and motorcycles and grenades n stuff. For those kinds of films, John Woo would be at his best... But for Tom Clancy films, I dont think Tom Clancy readers would appreciate that Ding clears a room doing a "dual pistol Akimbo (as Shadow mentioned)". Something tells me "Rainbow Six" will become another "SWAT" movie.
Grizzlie 0 Posted June 28, 2004 Connery could be Alistair - Rainbow 5 Don't forget Clark becomes grandpa, and i can't imagine Willem Dafoe as grandpa
Nathanz 0 Posted June 28, 2004 Something tells me "Rainbow Six" will become another "SWAT" movie. Â Ohh come on ... it wasnt THAT bad
sputnik monroe 102 Posted June 28, 2004 I was thinking Michael Kane as Alistair maybe? Maybe Jean Reno as Louis Lousille?
shadow 6 Posted June 28, 2004 In that movie he is not Ding Chavez i don't remember the excat name but it aint Ding besides Snippet from the cast-list of Clear and Present Danger on IMDB: Raymond Cruz .... Â Domingo 'Ding' Chavez Quote[/b] ]My main concern is that Cruz played Ding ten years ago already (one has to compare CaPD and R6 timelines and events dates though) The sum of all fears screwed the timeline by hiring Ben Afleck as Dr. Ryan instead of Harrison Ford. IMO Harrison Ford was the best Jack Ryan-actor. But then again, I'm biased because I like Harrison Ford very much as an actor too.

sputnik monroe 102 Posted June 28, 2004 Personally I think this movie is going to suck the big one. John Woo directing? That and I know it wont be based off the book since the bad guys in it were environmentalist. Hollywood would never piss off the environmentalist lobby, after that's their boys. They'll probably change it to "neo-fascist".
sputnik monroe 102 Posted June 28, 2004 Lousille was in the book I'm pretty sure he was. I could be wrong though, It's been 3 or 4 years since I read it. If I recall correctly in the book the team was half American half British, and had 2 Germans a French, and one Israeli. I think the team was about 16 people in the book. That makes the team 125% different nationalities? In the book, the team is under U.N command, if you mean that.
shadow 6 Posted June 28, 2004 Is it just me or is there a striking similarity between the bio-pic of Chavez in Rainbow Six and Everett McGill? Could only find this old pic of him:
ran 0 Posted June 28, 2004 Lousille was in the book I'm pretty sure he was. I could be wrong though, It's been 3 or 4 years since I read it. I think Du Barry was in the book .... but I have the same problem as you, it's been a long time since i've read R6, and i'm maybe even mistaking a few of the characters with characters from other thrillers
