jgk6 0 Posted June 11, 2004 Old movie favorites: The title track to Zulu by John Barry (he who wrote reams of Bond soundtracks) The "Ace's High March" from The Battle of Britain by Ron Goodwin (I think) As for games, the only one I see not mentioned is the opening music from Marothon 2: Durandal
DracoPaladore 0 Posted June 15, 2004 I have to echo Llauma's Has Zimmer sentiments. I particularly liked the stuff he did for Black Hawk Down - Gritty, intense. As for other composers, I find that James Horner's musical score from Glory is a favorite. I liked the Scottish song in BlackHawk Dwon, but I can't remember it's name. Minstrel Boy by Joe Strummer and the Miscaleros? That song I beleived started great. But as the song progressed, it just got weirder. I loved the drums, the heavy beating, but at one point it turned into some sort of neo-country guitar thing. I just wish it was only vocals, maybe with the drum and a few other instruments. But there are parts to that song that I just say "This could have been better without such and such". My parents used to own an Irish Tenors CD, which had Minstrel Boy on it. Liked the song. But my only complaint is that the singer sometimes sounded like Kermit. Doull 0 Posted June 15, 2004 Kate Bush does it for me. It makes you shoot faster
Jinef 2 Posted June 15, 2004 ................. I'm not a religous man but Kate Bush ......... Dear God ...... If you have ever had the most uncomfortable experience of watching the Kate Bush Wuthering Heights video you will realise that she isn't all there. Oh and the shoot faster thing.... you may want to re-word that as currently it sounds quite suspect.
somebloke 0 Posted June 15, 2004 I quite like the music from Battlefield 1942. Anything from tom clancy games. Film wise, probably We Were Soldiers, Battle of Britain, Great Escape, the italian job (yes this too, especially when in the mini escaping a tank), Bridge on River Kwai, Dambusters and probably best of all if you're in a ww2 fighter, 633 Squadron. Gollum1 0 Posted June 15, 2004 Haha, I've got to share this: Sotajumala - Panssarikolonna full version download The song is a free sample from sotajumala.com = Wargod - Armored Column Quote[/b] ]1. PanssarikolonnaKeskelta tuhotun kannaksen, hitaasti lipuu kolonna kolmenkymmenen. Panssaroitu joukko sotakoneiden. Vieden mukanaan tuhon seka karsimyksen. Taisteluiden arvet avonaiset, ruostetta, kuin verta vuodattavat. Ammusten iskuista irvokkaista, haalistuneet merkit joukko-osastojen. Telat teraksiset tuhansia tonneja taakkanaan. Joukkueita tulitukeen kuljettaa. Tykkitornit tukena totuuden, metallivaippaisia sanoja sylkee. Kolonna viiden joukkueen. Tietaan raivaa lapi taistojen. Saalimatta edessaan ketaan. Jattaen taakseen maan palaneen. Sirpaleet teraksiset maata repivat, ja liekkeihin sen hukuttavat. Tuliasemat, kitkerana savuavat, kohtaamisesta muistuttavat. Kolonna viiden joukkueen. Tietaan raivaa lapi taistojen. Saalimatta edessaan ketaan. Jattaen taakseen maan palaneen. Telat teraksiset tuhansia tonneja taakkanaan. Joukkueita tulitukeen kuljettaa. Tykkitornit tukena totuuden, metallivaippaisia sanoja sylkee. ...Kolonna raskaasti ruhjottu. Tehtavansa suorittanut, voittanut. Tappioitta kuitenkaan ei suoriutunut. Ennen uutta taistelua on arvet karkaistu. Well, if you're really, really pissed off it works.
FallenPaladin 0 Posted June 15, 2004 I like all the music from the late 60s and the early 70s. The Platoon OST is great.
Skewballzz 0 Posted June 15, 2004 My friend always loved The Rock soundtrack, but I couldnt get into due to my intense hatred of that terrible actor Nicholas Cage.
FallenPaladin 0 Posted June 15, 2004 Hans Zimmer, Ry Cooder, Rob Dougan & Moby, to name just a few  I`m not a big fan of Hans Zimmer. He really composes good soundtracks, but most of them sound almost the same. His Tears of the Sun OST was an exception, though.

-ZG-BUZZARD 0 Posted June 16, 2004 Sure, Hans Zimmer rulz, followed by John Williams, and in third, Vangelis. But when you're tired of listening to that, what do you turn to? Secret tip: Graeme Revell! His music scores are top-notch, he scored movies like The Saint (the Val Kilmer one) and the Dune miniseries.

Winters 1 Posted June 16, 2004 You guys have prolly seen many movies that has a Ry Cooder soundtrack, when you see his name in the credits you know that the music is going to be great. And Rob Dougan makes almost all the music you hear in the Matrix movies.

Look to Your Orb for the Warning - Monster Magnet  12. Hast - Rammstein  13. Wake Up - Rage Against the Machine And the other ones were mainly by Don Davis No it is not balderdash, He makes a lot of the instrumental soundtrack music, not the crap that has lyrics to it. for Example: in the first Matrix the music that plays while Neo and Morpheus are training (kung fu scene) and in reloaded when Neo is fighting the agents and he says "hmmm, upgrades" and when he is fighting all those dudes at the Chateau. Thats just a couple of the myriad of tunes he has, and if you check your list you even have one of his tunes listed (#4). I think you are getting credited songs mixed up with the uncredited background soundtrack music which is what i was referring to. But since your source is Amazon that explains a lot. Amazon only lists whats on the soundtrack you can purchase and not ALL the music in the movies.
