I think in Britain, for the MEP's we are voting for parties, and for the general elections is for candidates.

EiZei: I doubt there are any other sources due to the fact that the media are anti-BNP, including the Radio and BBC.

What i meant is that anything happens against the BNP its in the news, anything against labour or for BNP its not in the news.

A party whos leader has been convicted of inciting race hate and has been known to associate with terrorists does not deserve impartial media airing of its views (just as neither Bin Laden or Hitler get impartial media airing of their views).

There are problems of integration and suchlike in parts of the country but the BNP is emphatically -not- the solution. If you think the best way to put out a fire is to throw petrol on, then vote for the BNP, for sane and clear thinking individuals there are better ways of expressing their feelings.

Where do the BNP stand in the polls (if there are polls)? Are there any voted MPs?

BNP dont have a chance of getting into power, however, the very fact that such a party is in position to get any sort of seats is worrying in itself. (if BNP got a local seat they can act locally....doesnt seem much, but when the BNP sends visiting speakers into primary schools.....)

BNP=Facist scum

UKIP=Ditto, only they arent overt about it.

BNP currently have a record number of candidates running for them and also 1 of them is Sikh and another is a Jew. Well obviously no media anywhere have released any information ,on the polls, if the BNP are leading the way.

@IsThatyoujohnwayne: What terrorists? You never hear of white people being racially assaulted by Moslems but it does happen.

Policy examples

Quote[/b] ]IMMIGRATION - time to say NO!

On current demographic trends, we, the native British people, will be an ethnic minority in our own country within sixty years. To ensure that this does not happen, and that the British people retain their homeland and identity, we call for an immediate halt to all further immigration, the immediate deportation of criminal and illegal immigrants, and the introduction of a system of voluntary resettlement whereby those immigrants who are legally here will be afforded the opportunity to return to their lands of ethnic origin assisted by a generous financial incentives both for individuals and for the countries in question. We will abolish the ‘positive discrimination’ schemes that have made white Britons second-class citizens. We will also clamp down on the flood of ‘asylum seekers’, all of whom are either bogus or can find refuge much nearer their home countries.

Thier economic policy is scary to one who studies economics as well.....

Looks like they would kick off Northern Ireland again

Quote[/b] ]NORTHERN IRELAND - NO to sectarianism!

Britain has shamefully allowed the terrorists in N.I. to come close to winning when the IRA could have been destroyed years ago. Government weakness has led to hundreds of deaths and given those same terrorists a share in government. We would end all attempts to force the people of Northern Ireland to accept foreign interference in their affairs and deal with terrorism – from whatever side – once and for all. No one with links to a terrorist organisation that refuses to lay down its arms should be allowed to enter government. We would abolish state-supported segregation in education. In the long run, we wish to end the conflict in Ireland by welcoming Eire as well as Ulster as equal partners in a federation of the nations of the British Isles.

This is not a party of government.

This thread is about Euro elections not about BNP policies.

I think examining the policies one of the parties that could get in in these elections is perfectly valid.

Or do you just vote for parties on the name alone?

This thread is about Euro elections not about BNP policies.

If you haven't understood it by now the policies of the canditate party are the only relevant thing. The European Parliament does not have any say on the UK membership in EU. That's handled by the national political bodies and the Comission. It has nothing to do with the EP. It on the other hand deals with economic policies, immigration etc Practical political issues. That means that the only relevant thing is their policies.

I wrote a long reply (which for me means very long) but unfortunatly i screwed up and lost the message but the main points were..

-Yes you do read about white people being attacked by muslim youth (though how they can determine the religious affiliation of the attackers is beyond me- presumably the colour of their skin rock.gif *) all over the TABLOIDS in SIX INCH HIGH LETTERING.

I can still remember the gory picture of that old mans face who was attacked and i live hundreds of miles away from where it happened. The media rarely report however on the daily harrassment of non white people by insults and abuse sometimes including assault. Thats presumably because its routine.

-The links between Nick Griffin and the Italian far right (including the terrorists involved in the 1980 Bologna bombing which killed 85 people) are well known and documented. In the past he also attempted to make contact with the Gaddafi regime of Libya and has visited that country. Nick Griffin in fact shares some very strange ideas with Gaddifi about a 'third way' of government existing apart from communism and capitalism which Griffin believes are both zionist plots.

Perhaps i should not mention his praising of Irans theocracy, which would be stunning considering that it makes make his current 'anti-islamist' angle look like opportunistic vote grabbing!

-At best you could say that the BNP are some slightly sinister and elitist con artists with a highly dubious past, ill equipped to play a part in government.

And otherwise: terrorist sypathising, holocaust denying, racist, thugs who have WHITEwashed over their past and convinced  some dupes to parrot their divisive message . Individual Jews and Sikhs (+others) are not incapable of being seduced by con artists, even nazis as history has proven. If you want to know what the British Sikh or Jewish community in general think of the BNP then it is perfectly easy to find out (nb- its not positive). However the BNP will very likely seek to exploit any anti-muslim feelings amongst Sikhs or Jews in order to win votes (given that its much easier to find support for than holocaust denial in the current climate).

a question: in the Netherlands there are 2 parties that have the same european motherparty. So what is now the difference in voting for one instead of the other except a different individual making the same votes in the EP?

In practice very little. MEPs do sit around in various task groups and there their individual position and their national party position might come forward. In general however they more or less always vote according to European party lines.

That's a bit strange, since it are 2 totally different parties. Most of the people don't even know this and loyaly vote for their party (and therefore against the other), while they are actually voting for both.

Ok, i'm sorry but i HAD to post this... yeah sure, this isn't about the European politics but it sure as hell is about the Belgian politics and it's pretty damn funny!!!  And if i make a new thread for this it'll get closed...

First of all i'll explain something...

Here, in Belgium, we have this political group (or whatever you call it).  They're called the "Vlaams Blok", i don't know any of those impressive words that have anything to do with politics so i'll just say it this way.  They are against immigrants and stuff like that, lately they've been accused by the court because of racism...  They call it freedom of speech but actually everyone with brains realizes that it's racism...

Oh well...

Anyway, this is a very serious thing because there are a lot of ppl actually voting for them (verrryyy scaryyy).  Hell i've even seen immigrants who are now Belgian citizens voting for them because those immigrants don't want even more immigrants in our country!!!   rock.gif  crazy_o.gif  rock.gif

But it's also kinda funny to hear them talking, they're so full of shit, it's scary and funny at the same time.

Anyway, in this little movie you can see on of their members explaining what their three V's stand for... (V's=words starting with a V, those words represent the things that they really want to work on)...

The lady explains that the next elections the "Vlaams Blok" will pay special attention to "Vlaanderen, Vrijheid en Vreemdelingen"... Translated to english this means Flanders (the Flemish speaking part of Belgium), Freedom and Immigrants... (in that order)...

Smart as she is, she uses her hands to give extra power to her words...

Notice what she does when she says the last word (vreemdelingen=immigrants)...

And notice all the other ppl clapping their hands mwaahaaahaha

Says enough i guess smile_o.gif

Uhm, sure in general it's the same like american english/british english and yes i know that Flemish isn't an official language but i still speak Flemish... not Dutch...

In theory the French (happy? smile_o.gif ) speaking part of Belgium doesn't really speak Wallonia or whatever it's called in English (seriously i have no damn clue) either... In theory they speak French but in real life there IS a difference...

Yes ... their French soundslike a washing machine tounge_o.gif

On topic now :

You may have noticed my lack of participation in this discussion, well, it's for a simple reason, i don't have a clue smile_o.gif

I'm going to vote for the Parti Socialiste certainly (left, pro-europe, but nothing really socialist these days... ). I thought about voting for the Communist party since daddy was a commie ( tounge_o.gif ) and their TV spot looked nice (I liked the song in it... just kidding, there are much more better reasons in my mind than that).

You can consider that only 30 minutes to 1 hour of TV broadcasting about the elections is done every week on each of the 3 public channels, it's a real shame. People just don't give a fuck here.

Thats universal Ran. Most countries are like that. Its when you take away the right to vote that the non voters pay attention!

So your racist rock.gif You are saying all of these people ride camels and shout words which have no meaning to me. I've never read anything about whites being attacked in six inch letters, or 5,4,3,2,1 (and all the decimals in between them). I think its prett easy to tell who's from the Muslim countries (eg Iraq, Afghanistan etc).

Also your going on about terroists now, which i didn't know Nick Griffin had any connections with. Maybe the wrong Mr Griffin.
