Guest RKSL-Rock Posted December 9, 2004 Ummm why are those rockets on the wings not under them?Or is it a plane what do have them on the wing in real life? They are correct. Â Its the actual position on the Sepecat (Anglo/French consortium) Jaguar. Â The original version's over-wing pylons were only compatable with Matra 'Magic' AAM's. Â The RAF later went on to convert the their Jags to support Sidewinder. <a href="http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=724311&WxsIERv=U2VwZWNhdCBKYWd1YXIgR1IzQQ%3D%3D&WdsYXMg=VUsgLSBBaXIgRm9yY2U%3D&QtODMg=SW4gTWFjaHlubGxldGggTG9vcCBBcmVh&ERDLTkt=VUsgLSBXYWxlcw%3D%3D&ktODMp=QXByaWwgMiwgMjAwNA%3D%3D&BP=0&WNEb25u=QnJpYW4gSG9kZ3Nvbg%3D%3D&xsIERvdWdsY=WFoxMTI%3D&MgTUQtODMgKE=T2YgNTRTcSB3YXMgb25lIG9mIGEgcGFpciBwYXNzaW5nIHRocm91Z2ggdGhlIEJ3bGNoLg%3D%3D&YXMgTUQtODMgKERD=NDMy&NEb25uZWxs=MjAwNC0xMi0wMw%3D%3D&ODJ9dvCE=R0E%3D&O89Dcjdg=Uy4xMTE%3D&static=yes&sok=V0hFUkUgICh0eXBlID0gJzInKSBBTkQgKE1BVENIIChhaXJjcmFmdCxhaXJsaW5lLHBsYWNlLHBob3RvX2RhdGUsY2 91bnRyeSxyZW1hcmsscGhvdG9ncmFwaGVyLGVtYWlsLHllYXIscmVnLGFpcmNyYWZ0X2dlbmVyaWMsY24sY29kZSkg QUdBSU5TVCAoJysiamFndWFyIicgSU4gQk9PTEVBTiBNT0RFKSkgIE9SREVSIEJZIHBob3RvX2lkIERFU0M%3D&photo_nr=4&size=L" target="_blank">Actual Photo</a>

-ZG-BUZZARD 0 Posted December 9, 2004 It's a type of car. (think die another day). Lol the car of Die Another Day was an Aston Martin Vanquish, not Jaguar Quote[/b] ]And we're waiting for it to arrive. Well, besides the plane there also exists a Jaguar car for OFP pretty cool one too! Back on topic, nice rework of the Jag, Footmunch, but I'm very much interested in something of which there is no other version yet... the An-70!!! Any news on that one? chaztheducky 0 Posted December 10, 2004 wasent this the plane that we told the french not to use in the first iraq war beacuse if they did then they would be shot down by the U.S.? i think it had something to do with there radar systems being the same as the iraqi ones. ThudBlunderQ8 0 Posted December 10, 2004 Chaz, the Iraqis operated Mirage F1s in the anti-shipping role, but have never had Jaguar. You are right that there weren't any French Mirage F1 deployed to the Gulf area in 1990/1, but they certainly helped out back home with Dissimilar Air Combat Training for allied forces.
SPQR 0 Posted December 10, 2004 Iraq used Mirage F1 : - 30 F.1EQ (Air Defense/Ground attack) - 23 F.1EQ-200 (Air Defense/Ground attack) - 20 F.1EQ5 (anti-warship combat, with ASM Exocet. Remenber the USS Stark) - 16 F.1BQ (training) For the first Gulf War, it was said that french Mirage F1CR (Air defense, ground attack, recon) could not fly because of visual identification error possibility. But that was partly false, as they flew escorted by Mirage 2000C. French Air Force for Desert Storm : - 26 Jaguar A => 568 combat missions (1043 flight hours) - 10 Mirage 2000C => 512 combat missions (1422 flight hours) - 6 Mirage F.1CR => 96 combat missions (234 flight hours)
Sgt_Eversmann 1 Posted December 11, 2004 A tool for Lock on is out you can extract Lomac textures with. High Quality F15,F16,F18,B52 and more textures!
ThudBlunderQ8 0 Posted December 11, 2004 SPQR, A very good, informative reply - I defer to your expert knowledge, thanks. That will also teach me not to mouth off about areas of which I have only limited knowledge. Mind you, I never saw any of them in our area of ops...
Shashman 0 Posted December 11, 2004 Regarding the F1's use in the '91 Gulf conflict, the FAF applied D-Day style black and white stripes to their machines, as they did on their Gazelles, which, if I'm not mistaken, were also in use by the Iraqi AF
bucket man 2 Posted December 12, 2004 Footmunch, I have a little broblem with some of your planes. Their weapons, landing gear and canopys dissapear unless I am standing right next to them. As you can see your MiG-21 and MiG-17 work fine. Only Hunter, F-4E and F-16 have this broblem. Your old Beagle also did this but the new Beagle works fine. Any idea whats wrong? lee_h._oswald 0 Posted December 12, 2004 It looks like you are not seeing the first LOD of the models. Adjust your configs to some more "quality". MfG Lee
Guest RKSL-Rock Posted December 12, 2004 I think you'll find its the fact the they are early Betas - the Lods arent set up properly for long viewing distances.
miles teg 1 Posted December 12, 2004 It looks like you are not seeing the first LOD of the models.Adjust your configs to some more "quality". MfG Lee I have the same problem. Some of us can't afford new graphics cards and can't increase the resolution without seriously compromising frame rates. The problem is that either the LOD's are set to change to lower LOD's much too early or the 2nd LOD is very low detailed. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
vektorboson 8 Posted December 12, 2004 Actually nobody has seen the real problem in his screenshot! It's not Footmunch planes, but it's Colonel Klinks Shelter. The Shelter uses a lot (and I mean a hell lot) polygons (and I think it has only one LOD) and therefore every other model that has "lower detailed" LODs drops to those. I'd rather advice to not use the Shelters, then the planes can be displayed in the highest resolution LOD.

While I do try to keep the models simple, the Falcon in particular does have quite a high poly-count, especially with all those high-detail missiles and bombs. The easiest way to _stop_ it happening is to set 'Auto Drop Down' (in the OFP Preferences application) to 'None'. I am re-doing many of the LOD's to include simplified landing gear, so that the planes don't float as much - Bucket Man noticed the 'improvement' on the Beagle - but it's a slow process at the moment. There will be a v1.1 of the Falcon (with some other changes) before Xmas...
Sgt_Eversmann 1 Posted December 13, 2004 Hey Footmunch if you need some good F16 Textures check out Lock on. There is a Tool called LoMan (10mb) with you can look in the cdds folders and export the Textures. Or shall I send you one File via Email?

Footmunch 0 Posted December 13, 2004 Ever - I know about the CDDS browser from Loman. The Lomac textures for the F-16, F-5 and F-4 are quite low-res... Backlog Clearance - Buccaneer, Beagle, Canberra, Flogger's, RAF Phantom all 'released' at www.footmunch.org.uk - direct links here: Beagle Buccaneer Canberra RAF/RN Phantom MiG-23 MiG-27 NOTE: RAF Phantoms, Canberra, Buccaneer all appear in the mission editor under West->RAF/RN Planes now All these zip files contain brief read-me's with the class names used. Another entry into the West->RAF/RN planes directory is the RAF Jaguar: Zip file -> http://www.footmunch.org.uk/beta/rktjag.zip All three versions carry 2xAIM-9, 2xGBU, Rockets and Cannons. Shine effects will be added in future. All comments welcome...

It has been posted several times here in the forums, config tuning that makes OFP nicer at no or very few loss of fps. Also on "low end" systems. Bobcatt666 0 Posted December 20, 2004 was beta testing a lot of your planes under FlashFXmod 1.8 noticed the Beagle has a max speed of just under 600 is that for a reason? found it interesting them trying to dog fight against F15s while on a bombing mission. Would have thought they fly a little faster than 600.
