Footmunch 0 Posted October 4, 2004 Seal84 - Thanks. Pics grabbed. I want to do a few different tails - maybe the best thing to do is to push the textures (and scripting) into a separate PBO so that it can be updated, and the user can select which VF he or she wants to fly with. The base model (which will be the beta tomorrow) will be a 'generic' one, though. Pure A2A (6 Sparrow + 2 Sidewinders) for now. Bombcat will follow later. Shashman 0 Posted October 4, 2004 Awesome model, but do you think you could ship a low vis (ghost grey and dark, monotone markings) camo'ed version? The the high vis scheme was phased out in the early '90s...
panzergrenadier3 38 Posted October 4, 2004 For the tails the Jolly Rogers would be the coolest! With AA weaponment: What's about the legendary, longrange Phoenix?
Wonder 0 Posted October 4, 2004 What's about the legendary, longrange Phoenix? For what? so you can shoot down enemy planes flying over Kolgujev all the way from Malden?
sa8gecko 0 Posted October 4, 2004 Quote[/b] ]What's about the legendary, longrange Phoenix? More, missile life in OFP is 'only' about ten seconds, so or you make the missile fly at a very high speed (and take away the fun in my point of view) or you can't achieve long range. Perhaps if you can configure a laserguided bomb as a missile, since it has a lifetime of about 20 seconds ... but I don't know if it's possible. Beatiful F14 model, Footmunch: I guess I have to switch to it instead of continuing to use the old french F14 (that has sweeping wings too, what some people said notwithstanding). Wonder 0 Posted October 4, 2004 Good F-14 model indeed... tho the fins on the back look a bit too large
Maat 0 Posted October 4, 2004 Nice, nice, nice! Thanks, thank, thank! Footmunch = Gold*fingher!
havocsquad 0 Posted October 4, 2004 You might need to lighten the the Gray on that Tomcat, since most are bathed in that pain in the ass light gray color that makes them almost practically invisible visually in clouds and stormy weather. Similiar to how your F-15C looks Footmunch. I just hope to bloody hell they fix it where aircraft can actually have hard-coded adjustable loadout support, or something better than that. Also, don't forget those aircraft subsystems, MFD's, and HUD's.

Could be the difference between a couple 23mm rounds and gettin home in one piece Very effective camo scheme
FerretFangs 0 Posted October 5, 2004 It's called, "haze grey." Which is the same as the ships' camo.
Footmunch 0 Posted October 5, 2004 Gentlemen, start your engines: BETA-BETA-BETA-BETA Zip File here: http://www.footmunch.org.uk/temp/rkttomcat.zip BETA-BETA-BETA-BETA Features: Automatic swing wing and vanes (applies to the shadow and geometry as well). Wing swings between 250 and 750, vanes between 650 and 900. Standard burner, flare/missile spoof, multi-missile, gun smoke, shine effects. Random plane numbering. MLOD models and layered skins can be obtained via PM. Back seat is 'cargo' not gunner. If you make yourself a higher rank than the pilot, you can act as a 'spotter', and control the AB. The _exact_ grey tone is not perfect, as the gamma and shine effects are hard to predict, but close. I'll probably do a 70's 14A scheme as well, with the 'white' underbelly. PS - SEAL84 gets his VF-32 tail. As I said, the 'default' tail/fin are the 'black' with yellow trim. The sword and 'AC' are a transparent decal, which will be 'exposed' to setobjecttexture in future. PPS - The Hellden F-14 _did_ have swing wings, but the swing was attached to the 'flaps' action. PPPS - Fins are as blueprinted. They do look a little bit big on the model, however. I'll tinker and see if a better 'visual' can be obtained.

I was using those pics (nose and tail) as more of a general paint sceme....thanks for including that squadron but I was pointing out colors, really - as in how they contrasted with the way you had it painted yesterday

hardrock 1 Posted October 5, 2004 Just tested it, I like it, like most of your planes. The handling and sounds are nice, model looks good too, BUT could you do me just one favor: Do a bit more work about the textures on the engine intakes, it just doesn't fit. That was already the case with the F-15 and the phantom, if I remember correctly. It wouldn't be too hard to fix this one texture, because in my opinion it really disturbes the overall good look of the rest of the model. Another thing, increase wheelSteeringSensitivity a bit please, it's nearly impossible to steer on the ground. Otherwise cool

It's partly to compensate for the lack of self-shadowing, but I could put a 'dark' compressor fan picture on there, like this: Quote[/b] ]Another thing, increase wheelSteeringSensitivity a bit please, it's nearly impossible to steer on the ground. Thanks. Forgot that.
hardrock 1 Posted October 5, 2004 Nah that's not the problem, the shading is fine, but it doesn't fit to the surrounding faces, there's no visual connection. pics tell more than thousand words: Know what I mean? Try to make your intake a bit more like in your picture above
havocsquad 0 Posted October 5, 2004 Good, a new aircraft for me to play around with for a little while. I'll get this bird reviewed next weekend (hopefully) and get an update to my site soon. Hopefully, I'll find some bloody time to work on my other parts of my web site than just the aircraft library.

Can anyone else verify this plz....Im using hawks carrier. I have no problem with the A6 ...Its just the F14.....Thx foot ...great job as always well its "hard" you have to throttle alot with the speed and pitch  And thats what i miss too, better sidepitching or rudder I remember the Mig21 from FDF had a really smooth one with much force to get in the right fireposition. Maybe just me The frame and the cockpit is very very beautiful, very nice! I wonder if you wanna change the AB sound, gets kinda anoying at some point, its doesnt sound good looped. Anyways i think im moaning where nothing is really wrong so its really one of your best planes!

eddyd 0 Posted October 5, 2004 nice tomcat footmunch can you make the wings swift to the back , soo we can put more planes on the carrier. oh one more thing , if you taxi on deck of the carrier and you come one of your wheels in the holes , your gear go up. and the plane start jumping on deck with the gear up . keep up the good work footmunch
