Coins 0 Posted April 25, 2004 It's possible for a 747 to make an emergency landing at that airport. As long as view distance is set high enough with as little lag as possible, a pilot could bring the jumbo close to stall speed earlier on the approach. One thing though, perhaps remove the trees near the runway, don't know how many airports have trees between the taxi lanes and runways. This map looks great, is it possible to have a couple pirate havens and scenic beaches for tourists, possibly looking onto other islands in the distance? nephilim 0 Posted April 25, 2004 looks good the only thing that bugs me is the airport the hoses are in the way clear that area infront of the runway a bit ok? rest is really good
-75th-Wacky_Iraqi-LtC- 0 Posted April 26, 2004 SHIT!!!!!!!! I was getting all hype about this awesome ass map and then you tell me I need Tonal......grrrrr.... now I can't play this map cause I don't want to wait a few days for Tonal to d/l..... Â Â Is it possible to de-pbo that bas_o thingy and just .rar up the needed files? PLEASE!!!!! It would be a help to the "slowies (:p)" in ofp! Also, when I looked at the first pic I thought it was a carrier, SERIOUSLY, then I saw it was an island. That's the only big thing bothering me is that carrier in the land. Sgt. Stryker 0 Posted April 26, 2004 thatd be nice but i bet the author doesnt even know all the different things he used and all those various pbos in the bas pack.
MEDICUS 0 Posted April 26, 2004 That island looks SWEET! Â To sad that we are just discussting about removing the Bas Tonal pack from our server... Â Would it be possible to release a version without the bas buildings (so that the Bas_O.pbo isn't needed)? That would be awsome! Mfg MEDICUS
C4P741N 0 Posted April 26, 2004 I compressed BAS_O.pbo in a rar and it comes to around 41mb, I can't be arsed to upload it at the moment but if people do want it can they say so here. It also depends if BAS gives permission for this island to go ahead. I hope they do cos the s/shots look excellent. I will post a link (if wanted) when closer to release. hosting space is finite Captain
tankieboy 0 Posted April 26, 2004 How can you ppl not have Tonal on your HD's? I d/l'ed it when I was on 56k using GetRight, np. Can't understand how anyone would not have Tonal. Looking forward to this map. Time to get my boonie hat on again. Thanks.

Almost every object I use on the map is from Tonal... And I've revorked the island abit.. I've lengthened the airport and made it look less like a carrier. Also I've changed the trees near it to shorter ones

GoOB 0 Posted April 26, 2004 Nice, reminds me of the game "Tropico" good fun that game, until your governmentally employed, eighty year old hookers started revolting against your regime because you taxed bananas too much But seriously, it looks great. Very nice attention to detail! But it doesn't look like a pacific island as much as it looks like an island you would find in say, the Caribbean.
mcnools 62 Posted April 30, 2004 I know it doesn't really look like the pacific... It can be used for many types of tropical places...
chaztheducky 0 Posted April 30, 2004 looks good except for 1 thing. i dont like how the trees in the new airport picture look like they were planted in a square\rectangle thingy. also i liked the bigger trees in some places at the A.P. it gave it some variety. looked good. besides that the island looks great. just put some individual trees(of different sizes near the airport and it will look more laid back or relaxed. you know...like the real carribian or indenosia (i know...my spelling is a disgrace. ). that would be relly cool. P.s. dont take any of this personally i relly think the island looks good but i liked the airport pic before you changed it. its not like i wont dl it anyways

Recently I spent two weeks in northeastern Brazil, and I've also been in Mexico, and sure enough like in the movie "Kill Bill vol. 2", there are entire areas of palm trees that have the same size... I mean hectars of 'em!!!

mcnools 62 Posted May 2, 2004 I've reworked the airport much and there isn't any square palmtree thingie's there anymore... Just so you guys know.. there are about 10 islands.. So there's much more than shown in the pics

silent_64 0 Posted May 24, 2004 The map is realy good, there's a nice swamp just north of the airport. But none the less - I think it sounds like a very nice idea to add an old fort, you could edit it off the old bis castle, as long as you give them credit and change it there isn't any problems is there? Anyway, keep up the good work!
