Dkm-mod updates

The Vitapc 1.4 rock.gif . Its close to perfection, really awsome apc's and stuff but the spetznas, sobr and chechens are all screwed up sad_o.gif . The Dragunov and PKM are very nice but could use better sounds, the other rifles based on Earl's are missing trigers (on the model) and could have the whole goodness like the sounds, sights, etc.

Also the african DFLW wathever voice sounds on the Chechens could go away, they are a bit off in my opinion.

Please dont kill me smile_o.gif .

@cero - Have you got the config file that says version 1.4 at the top of it. Also make sure you have version 1.5 of the DKM RSC file.

I think from memory there was a stuff up in the original 1.4 zip. if you go the DKM site and d/l the pack again it only comes with the 1 pbo file, make sure you have the right one.

I'm redownloading the latest RSC, but I'm sure I have 1.5.

What I don't understand is that I'm sure there was only one pbo in the VIT apc pack, and now when I download the exe it instal 3 pbos, I disregard the RSC pbo that comes in the VIT apc exe and see what's up.

I'll check it tonight, I got to go to work now.

The config was outsourced in one of the later VITAPC versions, to enable config modifications/repairs without forcing a big download, so your 3 file setup is correct.

Right, two things I noticed.

Well I downloaded and redownloaded the damm thing, untill finally convincing my selfe that the download its the right one and that the file its ok, and then I read Rastavovich post, damm, what a waste of time downloading twice crazy_o.gif  Thanks Rastavovich, now I know that it suposse to be like that biggrin_o.gif

The error seems to be just in the Spetsnaz VSS sniper, whenever I try to play with him the game freezes, so in the configuration I noticed this:

It seems to be misplaced to the left of the configuration, and to be onest with you I never seen that in a soldier configuration, but I don't have much experience with configurations, so I may be wrong biggrin_o.gif

If tha'ts the problem, how I fix it?

Hang on, I'm gona try to move it to the right and see if that will do...

Edit, damm it, how do you compress that? I thought it would be able to get made into a pbo with stuff pbo, but of course, its not a folder crazy_o.gif stupid me, how do you make this configuration pbo? how do you compresse it?

I could send you mine, but I have edited it to use other units and also different weps as well.

I think i used the latest wep pack for ORCS and also suchy tank crew, I will check and get back to you

This is from the VIT/DKM APC PACK v1.3 config and i am not sure if there was another update to it.

I also have the Version: 1.50 (Date: 31.03.04) of the DKMM_RSC and have no problem at all.

Maybe just making a slight change in the config would help.

No the // in front of the line shows the engine to ignore this line while parsing through, its only a comment to show how the value 11411 in the weaponSlots entry is reached.

Yes, I thought that by looking at other lines with coments on them, thank you Rastavovich.

But after I change a cuple of things here and there the problem persist.

Right, this time I wayted to see what happaned, and I had a message.

Out of memory basicly, but I couldn't take notes of it because I hade the bad idea of restarting before I toke notes of it crazy_o.gif

This is a very unusual error, at list for me, and I'm wondering if the error its in the P3D instead that makes the memory feel up for some reason?

I don't know.

But I think that I won't be using this sniper biggrin_o.gif

Nothing wrong with the rest of the pack, and yes, I tryed without any other addons just incase there was a conflict with another one, so its a no no to the conflicted addons.

Now, its anybody ellse here that have this problem with the Spetsnaz VSS sniper unit or its just me? can somebody ellse try it out and let me know please?

And please, don't think that I'm trying to jeopardize DKM credibility or anything like that, I'm a fan of DKM and I love DKM's teams work and results.

I find that the easyest way to make a perfect addon its by pin pointing possible errors and giving sugestions in design and production, so here its where I am.

Thanks all for reading, and if someone can hellp I will appreciate it, if not the result will be simple, I'll just try to avoid the VSS spetsnatz sniper biggrin_o.gif its a killer. lol.

Any chance someone in DKM can investigate that, or if you guys in DKM are to busy let somebody try to find about what's wrong?

It would be great to have this pack completly clean of bugs, and as far as I know that's the only bug present in the pack, but like I said in the previous page, all I have to do is avoid the sniper.

Afaik the value '256' in the line above stands for magazine slots for primary and secondary weapons.

In the line above there are 12 slots defined, but I think 10 is maximum.

And  1+2+16+4*32+10*256+2*4096 = 10899.

Just change 'weaponSlots=11411' to 'weaponSlots=10899'.

It´s not tested, but it should work.

Two questions about the M113 ADATS under development:

1. Is it almost ready or far from it? The reason I'm asking is that I've incorporated the old M109 ADATS into some missions I'm working on and I want to know if I should hold off or not.

2. What year did the M113 ADATS go into service?

if ti is a US mission the date is never.

the US army does not use it.

the onyl air defence system the US army uses is the patriot, and the advenger. oh and stringers.

I'd dtill like to pretend "what if", as the addon fits my needs.

I was willing to consider using Combat's Bradley with stingers but due to the number of units used, I found a relatively large increase in lag.

or just call it NATO mission and the Air defence is provided by canada or some NATO country that uses it.

Don't worry avon, the M109 adats will also get an update.

Apart from having less armor than the M109 adats, the M113 adats will be basically the same.

M109 update? Good! Will missions using the old one be affected by the new one? I.e., different addon name, firepower attributes?

I cannot say for sure but it is very likely it will just replace the already exisiting M109 ADATS, so I doubt any chances to your mission will be needed.
