Pathy 0 Posted November 23, 2004 Ahhh Eizei was correct with Blade Runner. If you ever get the chance to play it, its well worth it! AFAIK most of the characters have variable pasts which are selected at random each start. So in one game, a certain character may be a replicant. In another, they may not be. Of course this has lots of nice knock on effects Truly one of the best adventure games ever
jackson42 0 Posted November 23, 2004 Carrier Command was right, of course. (If anybody is interessted in trivia: original game design for Carrier Command was done by Ricardo Pinto, later Assembly Line (Cybercon 3 amongst others) who is now writing fantasy novels - "The Stone Dance of the Chameleon" Triology - quite enjoyable) Someone remember these? (Hint: Arcade) (Hint: Slightly cutted, right part and lower part deleted - would be to easy  )

jackson42 0 Posted November 23, 2004 @DeLiltMon That's the lovely Seattle scenery (obviously painted after carefully gathered reference material) from Zak McKracken; Full marks
shadow 6 Posted November 23, 2004 The arcade game looks like Blood Bros (the sequel to Cabal). The 3rd pic looks like one of many submarine sims on the C64. I was never a fan of subs so I don't know the name. Prolly something beginning with i688 Â
jackson42 0 Posted November 23, 2004 1UP for Blood Bros. (Thanks for the info re Cabal - I always thought that one was the name of the cheesy Amiga clone of Blood Bros. - alas! we live to learn ) 3rd one is not a exactly a sub sim. 'Twas quite good for that times - more or less the reason why I wanted to own a c64.

DeLiltMon 0 Posted November 23, 2004 @DeLiltMonThat's the lovely Seattle scenery (obviously painted after carefully gathered reference material) from Zak McKracken; Full marks home of the two-headed squirrel if I remember rightly  The 3rd one isn't Hunt For Red October is it? Never played it myself, had an Acorn Electron, but my mates with C64s used to go on about how good it was.

der bastler 0 Posted November 23, 2004 now a hard one, it was one of the best adventures i ever played. the humour in it was kinda abstract but not to bad http://wowoldgame.com.ne.kr/gamehtm....nam.gif http://old.the-underdogs.org/Eternam.jpg Ah, Eternam. Review of PC-Version in Playtime 8/9 1992: 75% Sound, 94% Gfx, 89% Fun => 88% overall Other reviews: Dark Queen of Krynn (PC), Das Schwarze Auge (PC), Treasures of the Savage Frontier (PC), Another World (Amiga), The Humans (Amiga), Ugh! (C64), Batman (Gameboy), Tiny Toon (Gameboy) Conversions: Epic (PC), Space Quest (Amiga), Monkey Island 2 (Amiga), Elvira 2 (Atari) Previews: Inca, Plan 9 Game of the Month: Aces of the Pacific (I second this; game of the year '92 imo!). I still have AotP on 5.25" floppies plus the Add-On WWII:1946. This reminds me of saving my old games to a CD soon (yes, I still have an old PC with 1.2MB floppy disk drive occupying precious space). der bastler 0 Posted November 24, 2004 impressive, you must have a rather big (dusty ) games mag collection to gather all the info from SCNR They are not dusty, I built a seperate closet for them (disadvantage to live right under the roof: sloping walls need custom made furniture). My computers on the other hand are dusty, therefore I sealed my 2500XP with tape and installed filters (stripped from the cooker hood in the kitchen) in its remaining air ducts. The fans are now nearly dust-free at their vacuum edges. Quote[/b] ]i think i even had that issue too, at least i remember AotP being a game i always wanted to play but couldnt because of my poor pc, but who cares anyway..today i have lomac & il2:fb In the beginning I had to use a boot disk because AotP needed at least 610kB free base memory. Some months/years afterwards I could tune autoexec.bat/config.sys to meet this requirement without booting from an extra 5.25 floppy... Those -- were -- the -- days, my friend, we thought they'd never end, we'd sing and dance forever and a day, we'd live the life we'd choose, we'd fight and never lose for we were young and sure to have our way...
