Pes 3 / we7

Recommended Posts

Hey since we kinda discuss alot of other games in offtopic i was wondering who else plays Pro Evolution Soccer 3 or Winning Eleven 7 ?

This is in my opinion THE greatest football ( soccer ) game on ANY platform out there !

I ve been following the game since PES1 now and i m very glad i ditched Fifa for this jewel.

Cause lets face it, the only edge Fifa has got over PES is the licences, no other aspect of fifa comes even close to PES except the licences.

IRL i m not into football that much, well not as long as our national team doesnt play, but there s something about football games that just draws me into them.

So tell me why you like PES, what your team looks like atm and how many seasons you played yet in PES3.  Also good to share some info on good and cheap players to buy  smile_o.gif

I m in season 3 now of the master league, playing on level 3 and i find it hard to beat the computer most of the times ( playing it on PS/2 ) Got some star players already and bought mostly some cheap but good korean players.

I m currently ranked 1st in the first division and season is nearing the end ( 1st season in 1 st division ) just traded Jay for Henry ( lol ) and Ivanov ( GK ) for Larsson ( lol ), seems like trading is a little bugged hehe. Have got Sas and Rebrov ( i always buy rebrov ) and a bunch of koreans, esp. in the midfield.

Playing mostly as an attacking 5-4-1 ( midfield shaped as a diamond with rebrov in support of Slimcasila and Njorgo ( he s good ! ) and sas on a flank ( he s very fast ).

When this season ends i will get larsson and Henry ( trade is already concluded ) and then i ll put henry as deep striker and rebrov in support behind him.

So any who play, plz feel free to comment.

I know placebo does ... so i should get 1 interested person  smile_o.gif

Cheers

BTW for people not knowing the game or dont have a clue what i m talking about

Well the Super Bowl is gonna be in Houston, but aren't the panthers going...?

Oh, you were talking about soccer. biggrin_o.gif

Maybe somebody should make a soccer mod for OFP.

With the ball being an actual object with different kinds of strokefists to kick the ball short, medium or long ranges.

and a headbutt strokefist.

How about it?

My most played lineup ...

------------------------Dudek---------------------------

------------------------Delacre --------------------------

-----------Edingson*--------------Korean def-------------

Dulec*---------------------------------------Vornander*--

------------------Korean def midfielder---------------------

Sas-----------------------------------------------Macco*-

----------------------Rebrov/Njorgo*----------------------

------------------------Slimcasila--------------------------

==============================================

This lineup is for me mostly very succesfull, i dont play defensively at all, but playing with 5 in the back mostly assures i m not caught 1 on 1 in the back since i have only 2 good defenders yet, ( delacre (FRA) and the Korean defender ( cheapo, but very very good and tall ).

I have only 1 defensive midfielder, mostly Espinas or Burchet both standard players ( the players you get in your team when you start ).

Njorgo is a very very good striker ( for a standard player ) and very good in the air, that s why he still gets playing time from me. Scores regularly too.

Slimcasila is also a good cheap and fast striker but he isnt very consitant, but he has his moments. Although i ll be glad to have Henry in the team so Slim can act as replacement when Henry is injured or recuperating.

Cheers

PS : if anyone is interested i ll post some korean players names, but i ll have to check first  crazy_o.gif

One i use is Cha Du Ri, a striker, but i mostly put him just behind the strikers, although he s not so good anymore since i play 1st div. so not putting him on much anymore except if i got injured, tired and suspended players.

I have both but play PES3 now, not downloaded any patches recently but just discovered a utility to change the badges/flags by utilising an Xport2 smile_o.gif

I prefer not to fill my team with stars as the game is too easy as it is, one of my favourite forwards is "Lucky" smile_o.gif

Too easy  crazy_o.gif

Man i definately have to checkout my gamepad ....  tounge_o.gif

But i have to admit, i dont really like to setup strategies and stuff, just formation and i m off. I dont like the management aspect alot so i mostly ignore that.

Maybe that s what making it hard for me to get an easy win.

And besides, you can hardly call my team full of stars, the only good "star" players are Dudek ( great keeper ) and Rebrov.

Sorry to go a bit OT but does anyone play NHL 2004 here?

I have NHL 2004, but dont play it alot.

I did the first 2 weeks, but for some reason i grow tired of it quickly.

And the Blackhawks arent the Blackhawks from 5-7 years back anymore sad_o.gif

I ll just hold another year for the PES3 ( or 4 by then ) PC version, it s a little buggy, they didn t do a really good job converting it ... first year it comes out for other platforms then PS2.

Placebo, do you play WE or PES ? I heard WE is waaaay easier then PES. Maybe that s why it s so easy for you.

Cheers

Dudek = Good?

Why bother using real names if they arn't going to be like the players in real life?

I have avoid the score all day but I am willing to bet here that Newcastle have stuffed us.

As soon as Houllier gets sacked the better.

Only Fifa I really played to death was Fifa96, none of the others really caught my imagination.

I've actually been meaning to get a soccer/football game. FIFA 2004 looked nice, and I like the idea of playing as Arsenal. I hear, though, that the gameplay is a bit lacking.

I play PES3 on 5* smile_o.gif

Fifa 2004 may look good (debatable) but it plays very poorly, only thing in its favour is the huge amount of leagues and teams, PES lacks in that area but plays an almost flawless game of football smile_o.gif

Agreed,I don't own any game of pes,but i play with three of my mates on a regular basis, one of the best multiplayer experiences ever.

Oh,and fifa can't even compare,just too arcadey,and mostly quick cash-in updates (haven't played 2004 though)

Playing PES is just infinetely more rewarding, you have to work for every point, and the ai won't fall for the 'run along the line, cross it in the box and bycicle-kick it in' strategy.

I hated the PES3 demo. I can't get used to those stupid Playstation controls - and I played for an hour.

I must be old or somefink. crazy_o.gif

Hellfish,

PES controls dont difer much from Fifa's ... except for the shooting button i think.

You ll get used to it.

What i ve noticed about PES is that it needs a chance, it s very frustrating when you start with it cause it s not that easy but in the end ... man i often sit there like wow_o.gif when i finally score a beautiful goal, or start to shout at the ref for giving me yellow and just didn t whistle at all at the same fault the AI just did, or when you manage to put the ball wide infront of an open goal ... i could go on smile_o.gif

Without doubt my second all time favourite game. Pes3 is probably the most complete version so far. I think that Pes3 on pc is alot better than the ps2 version (the ps2 version has some frame rate issues) especialy if you have a ps2 pad/adapter.

For any one that has a pc version there is an unofficial kit/roster update proevolution online it's called superpatch 2.

This is well worth the download (51 meg, and it has to be manualy inserted into the game....takes about 5 minutes to do)The new kits looks absolutely stunning, they also have the proper sponsors logos on them and they have change all the bill boards that surround the pitch to the ones from Champions league. The changes are very subtle be they make a massive difference in my opinion.

Oh and i have my skill setting to three stars......im not that good sad_o.gif
