Master_Chief 0 Posted September 14, 2004 cant judge both of u thou, cuz tend to stay away from them as much as possible in halo lol dude! hunters are easier to take out than a grunt, especially on legendary. When he comes at you with his melee attack, just move sideways, he will run past you and stop. then just shoot him in the back with the pistol. Even on legendary its one shot one kill. but anyways the hunter doesn't need the mouth setup stuff because Hunters don't seem to have mouths, and they never give off more that a few groans and that evil laugh that they do. As for the head/ neck setup, the Hunter is basically a turtle, it hides itself inside of its armor when it is in combat mode. Thats why you normally don't see the neck. On a different note, should the hunter's fuel rod gun be separate from the hunter, so the hunter could pick up different weapons and other units could use the fuel rod gun? Or should I keep it the way it was in Halo where the weapon was always connected to the hunter? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Also, I know you must have imported the Elites, but are you going to make the Badass black and gold ones, or just the blue and red? I also want to complement ya cuz it must be pretty hard to re-define a entire model and do the config / animation work. Your doing a great job m8, keep it up. gandalf the white 0 Posted September 14, 2004 i suggest to make the Hunter's gun fire missles , they can be modelled ( and a script attatched to it that leaves a green trail) , arc better  ,and move slower.... how to make it only for the hunter...  simple! the visible gun is part of the model , but he's also holding an invisible rifle (wich fires rockets), when the hunter is dead the invisible gun gets removed, voila!  wow , i just amazed myself with that suggestion Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Â simple! or just change the one line in the config that determines if a weapon can be dropped...also I think i will config it as a grenade launcher, so i don't have to do any complex stuff with the separate weapon/rpg animations. Anyways, yes, lots of black and gold elites to mess with. And the black-op grunts with fuel rod guns. And no, we can't import animations but we will do our best I'm suprised people want the weapon to stay on the hunter, because they look awsome holding an Ak-74 I also want to complement ya cuz it must be pretty hard to re-define a entire model and do the config / animation work Thanks It is actually is a lot easier than most people think it is. When you are making an entirely new unit, you don't have to worry about it working with the old animations, and you don't have to deal with any czech language I am amazed by how easy it is to change stuff and what ofp is capable of. for example, when you move the mouse to look around or aim, the head moves to where you are looking. In the config, you can actually change what parts of the model move during these motions, and even how fast they can move in relation to the movement. what this means is that when the hunter aims down, the spikes on his back don't just follow the body, they move by themselves and it looks awsome. Also, the heads on all my units no longer turn instantly, they are slower and look much more realistic. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
