Doc. Zaius 0 Posted January 7, 2004 I spotted this on another forum. It's a page from a SOCOM 2: US Navy SEALs strategy guide in the magazine Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM). It's a picture of Russian soldiers holding copies of SOCOM 2, which were photoshopped in. The source picture is of Russian soldiers holding pictures of fallen comrades who died in Chechnya. EGM Page (145 KB, Â JPEG) Source Image
Tigershark_BAS 0 Posted January 7, 2004 Yes...if you know the where the image was sourced from...it does appear incredibly tasteless. Thanks for educating me Doc.

Sharia 0 Posted January 7, 2004 Oh jesus christ. That is absolutely tasteless... Still, what can do you expect from a gaming magazine? They're all a bunch of immoral bastards, apart from EDGE and GAMES TM. Ugh... Anyway, I'm going to pass this on to a forum I go to, to show more people. Consigliere 0 Posted January 7, 2004 Is this a new image? ( The magazine version ) If so, then we could start a petition or something of the sort against it
Balschoiw 0 Posted January 7, 2004 yeah lets write them a note and send them them our opinion.
Doc. Zaius 0 Posted January 7, 2004 I had a look around their website and found an email address. feedback@1UP.com [Source] If you're going to email, try to keep things civil. I'm not sure in regards to the date/issue of EGM that the page in question appears in, as I only found this on a forum and haven't seen the actual magazine. I'll ask around. svendejong 0 Posted January 7, 2004 Im glad that the add isnt for OFP2. Writing a angry letter to Bis or Codemasters isnt something I would have loved to do
m21man 0 Posted January 7, 2004 I'd hope Codemasters would advertise more intelligently then this .
Doc. Zaius 0 Posted January 7, 2004 I'd hope Codemasters would advertise more intelligently then this . It's not an ad. It's from a strategy guide in an issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly. As far as I know, Sony (et al) hasn't got anything to do with it.

Milkman 1 Posted January 7, 2004 Bastards, the lack of respect for the families of those poor men is disguesting. I am going to give them a piece of my mind. Thankyou for pointing this out Zaius.
