Winters 1 Posted January 9, 2004 But what is worthless and not fun to one person may be lots of fun for others. It's ok to not like something just dont call people stupid if they don't agree with you. You can say the same about MOHAA and all the expansions they have made for it. They give you a new location (same as the sims expansions does) and a few new objects (same as the sims) are people who like MOHAA and buy all the expansions all dumb or suckers because of it? It may be a totally different game but my point is still valid. Personally when i play the Sims i get about an hours worth of fun and then move on to something else, but i still like it. Harnu 0 Posted January 9, 2004 Screw the new sims, I'm going to play SimCity2000 until I die!
GoOB 0 Posted January 9, 2004 But the expansion packs have sold like hotcakes, so Sims 2 will sell well too. It would sell better if they allowed you to drive around in first-person mode and shoot your annoying neighbors (Sim Theft Auto 2  ). Yes but that would be like going against the SIMfan criteria of acting like GOD and watching evrything happen from five feet in the air  This is not in defence of the idiotic expansion spree wich Maxis and EA has gone on, but Will Wright was only involved in the first expansion. The others are produced by a team within the team. Wich apparently specializes on adding as little content as possible to the game with every expansion. I quite liked the first "The Sims" but it didn't last very long, a game you can pick up and play any time and quit a few minutes after you start playing it. But sometimes you can sit for hours if you build a family with interesting relations... You can't really make an efficient home with more than four people though. Wich makes the game a bit nudgey in the sense that one or more of the family members are always reliving themselves on the floor and passing out on the wet spot they have created. And I am again quite looking forward to The sims 2 since roleplaying wether it's in a completly fantasy oriented game, or a modern soldier simulation has always been thrilling for me. And I am really looking forward to making all the wrong choices for a guy and watching him turn into a bittter old man.
Winters 1 Posted January 10, 2004 In the Sims 2 you will grow old and die and your children will tell on you if they see you kissing someone else.

GoOB 0 Posted January 10, 2004 The thing that is making me wanting The sims2 is that you age. From day one of getting The sims I have tried to make a persons life, building different families et cetera. Starting out with him as a kid living at his parents house. Then teens, then moving on to adult life. It was actually pretty fun but I am looking forward to doing the same in a game wich handles the process naturally. GoOB 0 Posted January 10, 2004 I have to hand it to Maxis though. They have really learnt something on how to keep games alive. I mean they are really throwing The sims 2 at us. Offering free web-hosting for fan sites to enable users to get easier acess to custom content. And allowing them to sell more games
cozza 24 Posted January 11, 2004 http://thesims2.ea.com/images/screenshots/screenshot_34.jpgWooo! Maybe i will buy. Just for the Leso
-33ker 0 Posted January 11, 2004 I'll give it A try. I liked some aspects of the old Sims game. Especially building insane house constructions (I love games with editors). But it was too limited for my ideas. Maybe they've changed some parts and I'll have some fun for a month or so.
GoOB 0 Posted January 11, 2004 I think they have given a real overhaul to the house-building aspect. Since that drew many people to the game, now you can have four floors you can place doors on diagonal wall-pieces etc. It's just sad that so many good games are coming out all at once, I won't be able to keep up with them! I mean schedueled for (early) spring release are these games: Metal Gear Solid 3 Halflife 2 The sims 2 Final Fantasy X2 Vietcong: Purple haze Gran Turismo 4 I need a donation from some foundation or something.... ozanzac 0 Posted January 11, 2004 http://thesims2.ea.com/images/screenshots/screenshot_34.jpgWooo! Well, that is a pretty good selling quality, I must admit. But if I wanted to see that sought of action, I'd go rent an porno, minus the porn, or go to a strip joint, minus the stripping. I think I'll just got to a freind who is very likely to buy the game, and get the five minutes of small mind entertainment out of it, in my view, it still wouldn't be worth buying, but that's just me. But it was too limited for my ideas. Maybe they've changed some parts and I'll have some fun for a month or so. I love editor games too... thats why i got OFP. But then I found alot more stuff interesting with the game other than little editors. Then POOF! I became a addonmaker, the most toughest editor job to do in OFP! (and time consuming) Ig a game does'nt have an easy editor. I'm likely not going to enjoy it. Half Life, and it's tool call Worldcraft... ohh man.. I could'nt get enough of that damn edtor. I would make stuff from James Bond, to Missions Impossible, to Matrix, and so much other stuff.. I loved that tool. Can't WAIT for Half Life 2 and their awsome editor!! To die for! Time Splitter 2 was pretty fun, it came with a level editor, only you could'nt be very original with your creations sadly And as fro Gran Turismo 4, it looks grat, but shall neva beat Need For Speed Underground! Dauragon 0 Posted January 11, 2004 And as fro Gran Turismo 4, it looks grat, but shall neva beat Need For Speed Underground! MUAHAHAH!! Bah NFS u was crap, the only difference you have with other cars once you are at extreme level is the body design no real tuning stuff like in GT4 where you could set the gear ratio and stuff and what the heck nfsu has no replay so basicly to summarize this in a couple of word: NFSU: For little kids, GT4: For Grown ups
