Zombie_Mod 0 Posted December 28, 2004 1. Sethon, you can indeed script the zombies yourself. Just make sure there is: a) No GblTargets array b) No game logic called SERVER. New features: 1) Zombies that don't know where you are, exactly, but can "smell" you.. the closer they get, the better the smell.. this means you can hide, but for how long? 2) Zombies that wander set areas, and only chase you if they see you. 3) "Spawner" game logics which spawn random zombies when player(s) get within a certain distance. Of course, the amount of zombies they spawn and how often is up to you. 4) Optimised code, uses more functions. In addition, some more new animations will be taken from maccollo's work, and implemented into the zombie mod for a later revision of beta 4. If you are interested in participating in the beta programme, then please email me at zombie.mod@ntlworld.com with the subject line "BETA TEST" - I will contact you in due course. Do NOT ask scripting questions about RC4 as this is not an official release. WHAT IS A SPAWNER A spawner game logic automatically creates zombies when they are N metres away or less from any target in gblAllTargets array. For example, a 50m spawner game logic will create zombies when a target comes within 50m of where the invisible game logic has been positioned. Make sure you place a spawner difficulty setting game logic too, this affects how many and how often zombies are created. Yes, all zombies are created within the groups referenced in gblGroupList, so make sure you have plenty of groups!!! It is not recommended you use game logics <500m as the zombies tend to "pop out" in front of you. Also, you can setpos game logics, so one game logic can be your sole spawner. Â Great stuff, before about 8-10 Guerillas with H-D, and IDF units could handle a friggin mob of +60 zombies and vampires as they ran up a hill towards them. Now...not so sure. Â You know, would it be possible, if it isnt now, for zombies to perhaps die after X amount of 'deaths'? You know, like I shoot one in the head once on Hard Difficulty. He falls, gets back up and heads towards me, kills me. With this, I shoot him in the head once, he gets up, I shoot him again, and he falls and gets back up, I shoot him once more and he dies. Also what dose the diffculty setting "romeo univers" do? seems the same as easy or medium. And i cant get the spawn working but i supose thas a question for mission and editing topic. If you want "realism" (if such a thing is possible with zombies lol) then that's what you should use. The zombies are weak, not indestructable, they cant damage tanks or APCs. When they bite humans, the human always dies and resurrects as a zombie. Mig and I are working on new zombie types. But I will be releasing a new animation pack shortly after RC4, as a patch upgrade. Don't worry, I've seen the anims, and they rock.
