Antaris 0 Posted January 2, 2004 I´ve had it on my harddrive since the demo before the houdan demo was released (first demo? alpha demo?)
noundo 0 Posted January 2, 2004 I played the demo and then waited long month until the game was out. Bought it the day it was out, end of June 2001 iirc. Those were cool days, americans bitching about having to wait a few month more (it's the other way round most of the times and you don't hear that much bitching and whining here in europe  ) and the online community was small, everywhere you would meet the same players... but now we have that again, haven't we  I have been playing since the demo, and am an American that ordered version 1.0 from codemasters in the U.K. the day it was released there and payed extra for shipping to Kentucky!!! Acecombat 0 Posted January 2, 2004 Hmm never heard of the demo , i got the game in Jan-Feb 2002 , did i miss something? Since then i played OFP 1.0 till June 2002 without relaizing that patches and upgrades would be released for this game , i loved OFP and its the only game that hasnt been deleted ever from my drive (except a c format once ) , but when i saw/heard news of it on the net and when i saw those gooeey hummer then i upgraded to 1.46 and stuff. But then couldnt get res for months (thank you Code masters for not throwing a few CD's here ) , got res 5-6 months ago and have been in touch with the game closely sinceb then as it has proved to be a game with a lot of games inside it (mods etc)

eisa01 0 Posted January 3, 2004 Got the demo late may 2001, got internet at home too in may (ADSL) so I could download the demo since then I've been hooked.... Bought the game in september 2001 and have played it since. But recently I've had a break since mid-october. Moving from and old computer to a better that didn't have more than 20 gb scsi HD But tonight I played my first MP game since then Nice to be back!
GRRhhg 0 Posted January 3, 2004 I played the original demo when it came on a gaming magazine CD, PC Gamer I think. My brother played it and got ruthlessly stomped despite valiant efforts to "kill the commies," but I mastered it and beat it. Unfortunately, it sank under my radar until later. Woe is I. Somehow, I got an insatiable need for a realistic shooter in 2003, something that could only be made survivable with nothing short of Operation Flashpoint, and I bought the Game of the Year Edition in August 2003. I wish I had done it earlier, because then I would have yet more experience at it. I haven't been able to put it down since. I'm still captivated by merely the single player and haven't touched an online game yet.
mr burns 132 Posted January 3, 2004 hmm..played the demo when it was released. but not for long...shortly after this i´ve been distracted by some PS games and stuff (nevermind). also the pc where i played was owned by my father: Quote[/b] ] what dirextx ?? fuck off..destroy another one´s pc. In summer 2001 i got my own pc and the pure ofp addictivness started and it got even worse as i got internet... now addons and the forum rule my life, damn..

shadow 6 Posted January 3, 2004 Interest for OFP started in late '98 or was it '99 (first screenshots anyway). Envyed everyone who got the press-demo, got the public demo under an hour after the link was posted and bought OFP v1.0 6 days before release (drove to the importer on the 15th of July'01). jgk6 0 Posted January 3, 2004 I don't remember. Probably slightly before my registration date (<-- which I too lazy to look up). People raved about it at alt.games.warbirds and some squadmates begged me to get it and held my hands through adding updates and mods. I think the first MP game I joined was The Gunslingers' "The Beach" scenario.
cozza 24 Posted January 3, 2004 X-mas two years ago. How my nerdy little Half-life life change that day. Throw half-life out the window and OFP was my way.
Doc. Zaius 0 Posted January 3, 2004 I first heard about Flashpoint in mid-2000 whilst cough searching for Half Life mods. I liked what I saw, but moved on immediately, no doubt distracted by shiny objects. Then, a year later, I downloaded the demo. I believe I fell in love on that fateful autumn day. Repeated playing of the mission "Ambush" proved that I in-fact, wasn't wasn't dreaming. But, it was Phaedon's mission "Supply Depot Raid" that really blew me away: In every sense of the word. Countless times I marched my Marines into those Soviet machine gun nests, and countless times we perished together, with tracer fire streaking over our heads and angry commanders echoing in our ears. I purchased Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis a scant few weeks later, while on an Economics class field trip, much to the chagrin of my teacher. Mister 5 0 Posted January 3, 2004 I've been playing since the demo. I was even so eager to play the full version that I had the European version shipped to me rather than wait for the US version.

KingN 251 Posted January 3, 2004 Since August 2001. I've got to say this is still the best game ever made and still it beats any brand new first-person-battle-tactics game. Long live OFP!
