Badgerboy 0 Posted November 6, 2003 I saw it yesterday... Are you two insane? It was fucking awful. I suppose if you like CG and robots it's ok, but otherwise it was incredibly shallow. The second was a bit of a let down, and I hoped this would go deeper in the story, with more of the history between humans and machines, with a few twists. What do we get? Bang bang bang. And a fight at the end, which relied so heavily on CG as the actual combat was crap. Oh well, I suppose you can't go broke appealing to the lowest common denominator can you? I don't go for the flashy effects. I'm surprised it had a 15 rating, as its cleary aimed at kids. I thought the directors had talent, but it seems that they just got lucky with the first. Kill Bill on the other hand.....
EiZei 0 Posted November 6, 2003 And I did not even like the original Matrix.

Yes this is the worst of the 3, the CGI seemed too out of place and the storyline has degraded since the first movie. Kill Bill was much better, I am glad I went to see this. Does anyone know when part 2 will be released? RED

=Matt= 0 Posted November 6, 2003 i saw it yesterday, i found it great... i didnt enjoy matrix reloaded, but it was only the premise for that! I suggest every1 to go to see it
Badgerboy 0 Posted November 6, 2003 Kill Bill are you kidding? her martial arts are even crapper then neo's... We are talking about script, editing, and stylish use of the camera. Good film making. As opposed to Matrix 3.
ebud 18 Posted November 6, 2003 Kill Bill are you kidding? her martial arts are even crapper then neo's... heh, I think your missing the whole gestalt of the movie. It's meant to be over the top.
Acecombat 0 Posted November 6, 2003 No one degrade Matrix ,if the directors hash up such a good storyline dont blame the original theme and plot.
smogmorph 0 Posted November 6, 2003 Just amazing Partly true.. the invasion of Zion and Neo VS Smith were really two amazing scenes. The story was NOT. I got the feeling that the Wachowski brothers wanted to rush through the Train station part and get to the Invasion as fast as possible. But it's still a must-see in my opinion
Crazysheep 1 Posted November 6, 2003 I think the matrix films are vastly UNDERrated; a lot of the criticisms about it being shallow and pretentious are from people who don't understand yet (very few people do) that it's about religion; I haven't seen it yet, but I reckon that there'll be an unlikely alliance between the machines and the humans against Smith. This is because at judgement day, and the matrix films are about religion, the dead will come down from heaven and create a NEW heaven on earth; the matrix represents heaven, and Smith represents the devil. This is because at judgement day, and the matrix films are about religion, the dead will come down from heaven and create a NEW heaven on earth; the matrix represents heaven, and Smith represents the devil. Funny, I remember hearing someone making an argument a couple of days ago (with some valid points) that the Matrix was clearly based on Bhuddism. Personally I think you see what you want to see, I try to take stories at face value, and one of the things that pissed me off about high school was the english teachers who constantly said "He wrote this, but what he actually means is...." How about the possibility that the meaning is exactly that which is shown to us in the surface? As for Revolutions, I just recently saw Reloaded on video, and I felt ripped off :P. If I ever see the third one it'll be because the tape or dvd will be lying around in the same room as me and I'll have nothing better to do.
Tex -USMC- 0 Posted November 7, 2003 Haven't seen Revolutions yet, but felt I had to comment on Kill Bill: best kung fu flick ever. And so what if the martial arts aren't as jazzy as those in the Matrix? No CG was involved, and the Wire-Fu that abounds in The Matrix is kept to an absolute minimum. Plus Uma fights 88 crazy Japanese guys in a scene that the 'Burly Brawl' in Reloaded can only dream of matching up with. My humble opinion is that the only two fight scenes in Reloaded that come close to Kill Bill Vol. 1's level of artistry are Seraph and Neo's tabletop spar, and the ballroom fight with the Merovingean's thugs. Everything else is either uninspired or technological masturbation in comparison.
hellfish6 7 Posted November 7, 2003 I agree with Tex. Kill Bill was a vastly superior movie, whereas the first Matrix was intriguing, the second Matrix was disgustingly awful (I was never so bored in a movie theater as I was when Neo fought the cloned Smiths for nearly thirty minutes) and the third Matrix movie will wait till DVD release, but even that's iffy. ozanzac 0 Posted November 7, 2003 I've only seen the original. I plan on seeing the whole series during a single 'session' in an Amsterdam theatre, dutchin it up.................If ya know what I mean! Either that or I'll go see it absolutly pissed off my face. Should be the same effect!
Antichrist 0 Posted November 7, 2003 I expected it to be crap so it kinda turned out all right. The best part being Invasion and other little "real world" tidbits. Otherwise it is pretty crap. If they cut all crappy dialogues that pretend to be philosophical, cut most of the CGI fights against Smith and just leve good bits then Reloaded + Revolutions will make one great movie. Just one! It only gonna be about 90 minutes long!
Lt_Phoenix 0 Posted November 7, 2003 Either that or I'll go see it absolutly pissed off my face. Should be the same effect! Â Thats the only way I managed to sit through Waterworld. I think I might have pissed the others in the cinema off though, by constantly having to get out of my seat to take a wizz. Back on topic: I can't be bothered to get too hyped up before seeing this film. I'll probably see it for the effects, but thats it.
ale2999 0 Posted November 7, 2003 o boy, me dont like u evil punks bashing me movie I enjoyed reloaded and I liked revolution. The only part of revolution that let me down was the last 2 minutes, but that is just because they put more questions on the table. I think that revolution was a very good movie. If u hated reloaded it is just natural that u h8d revolution, as they just are the SAME movie. you guys that say that there is no storyline in reloaded and revolution comparing it to the Matrix baffle me, as it is the same storyline, and actually to get more out of it you should have definetely seen the animatrix. I know I am not making much sense, but I am not feeling good so Ill bring my point sometime when I am more coherent! So for ppl deciding to go or not, if u liked reloaded go else dont! -)rStrangelove 0 Posted November 7, 2003 The best thing about seeing Matrix III was the Lord of the Rings 3 trailer. Sorry. Revolutions has great fx, but it doesn't deserve to be the 3rd part of such a great story, for it only holds more questions. In fact i wonder why the Brothers were so anxious to let the movie start everywhere around the world on the same day. Me wonders if it has something to do with the 'story telling quality' ? Badgerboy 0 Posted November 7, 2003 On another note, it seems the Japanese version is slighty different to the UK/US. I know in the UK version, the large fight scene in the bar/restaurant changes from colour to black and white, whilst the Japanese remains in colour all the way through. I'm sure massive katana rumbles are common place, and there is no need to chnage to B&W to disconnect the viewer slighty. Thoughts?
ZIKAN 0 Posted November 7, 2003 I was dispointed after I saw Revolutions yesterday. I thought they kind of milked the story right to the end to justify a third film. Indeed the effects were ok but over used, the acting and script got progressively poor, the story lost its self up its own backside, which is sad because I really enjoyed the first film. They could of edited Revolutions down to 30 minutes, and added it on to the end of the second film , Reloaded, and ended the story there, it would of made a very good sequel to the original then IMO.
