Bas tonal-tango pack

This has been asked before and its a bit offtopic but:

been at Cassandra_G HomePage and I noticed the Tonal Soundtrack isnt there yet, also Im wondering if I get permission to get her music on cd smile_o.gif

sorry for the delay, bonko.. all tonal tracks are as of now, released, including the blackhawks theme 'spacetime' which is an 'edit' of the 'original edit' of the 'original' :P

just look under the album 'Ballistic Studios'

as for burning, I'm not going to stop you from enjoying a trip in your car with my music blaring - enjoy!

I hope you'll indulge me one little question:

will any update in the near future change the current grid coordinate system? Currently Tonal covers Aa00 -- Ei49, and thus every grid square is 512x512m. I don't have a problem with this -- in fact, it would inconvenience me more if it changed; but I recognize I'd be the only one inconvenienced. But it would help to know if it's going to change (before _bad_ things happen).

Ahh, I was only going to change the grid for Ua, so if it doenst need changing now it can stay as is.

Hey what is the best way to complete the SF jungle OP cause I tryed it two times yesterday and it diden't go that well since I did like I have read you should(look around walk a little forward stop up and look around) after a little time I heard a virechle and suddenly hell broke loss. well fore my squad cause I could not see shit and they where shoting AT4's and I could hear the silenced shots from thers M4's. I cravled forward to see if I could find some enemys and when I did my squad had swiched over to M9's and killed them but since they diden't cary silenced M9's, I am sure they gave us away. Then the ennemys where every where(ofcause I could ent see them) and it tok them five minutes to kill all my team mates, I diede just after shoting two tangos in the water sad_o.gif .

So what should I do should I just run in and raid the place or what this is one of the situations where I miss my 170 degres eye view.

I was just thinking last night about something.

I been trying to create a modified BIN folder for a addon folder, trying to replace some units using Golmembers Explo mod. But I kip on failing.

However, I though that if one day I'm managed to finish it and it gos well, I'll make one for snow and one for dessert, so I can play the campaigns again with the replaced units and maps.

How about if you guys in BAS release a text file that give you the paths out of the addons configurations so they can replace models and textures for a new configuration bin, so we can play the BIS campaigns using the Tonal units and vehicles.

All we should do then is to get a map for each of the oficial islands with objects and textures replaced to the ones from the Tonal islands.

Just a though.

Oh, and ofcourse, we should decide who would be in the West, Deltas? Rangers? some other addon outside BAS, like Frandesten marines or something?

That could be nice for people to have a mod folder that actually replace the BIS stuff with yours.

on jungle op i ran a bout with a gpmg or m240 starrfing trees ran up to the bredm killed the gunner ran down the road machine gunnij anythin that moved

i also armed my squad with m240's part frum one with m4m203 and radio and m4mk and at4

i died frum a richosahaing bullet of a tree mad_o.gif

for jungle op

u need save cheat

order ur men to keep low once out the water

save everytime u kill 2 enemies

go on a stagerred coloum

u by urself have to raid the base and let ur team do cover fire

that means once u can see the building run like hell towards the base and shoot n e thing that moves, leaving ur team behind

and theres 3 or 2 guys inside each building so watch out

the enemy outside the base i think respawns too

so u gotta move fast b4 u run out of ammo

alright, this island rocks, because I tried when I was using my old geforce mx4, I recently upgraded cards and now when I start ofp the screen is all garbled, the top part I can see the model of the rusted out tank on the desert island and the polygons are hyper-extended off the screen, at the bottom I can see the island and its moving the music is playing. I know this is your islands fault because I have a mod folder dedicated to the island, and when I play with the mod paramater to your addons I get this error. Do you have any suggestions?

this is the only addon that does this, take away all bas addons (this island pack) game runs normal, add all bas addons (this island pack) game screen scrambles. I just thought that maybe you guys had some kind of idea on whats going on.

No, we are addon makers, not trained professionals that know what every bug, or error message, means and how to fix them, any bugs encountered in the game should be taken to BIS, they have dedicated troubleshooting forums and know what each error OFP displays means. The bug is more likely to do with the amount of addons, there is nothing within the addon that could cause that error.

Your addon (island pack) is the only other addon I have (aside from the bis cammel planes), on a system running on 768mb of ram I can tell you its not an overabundent addon problem.

calm down, evis doesn't mean any offence

there does seem to be a problem at hand, though it's not one simple thing that anyone can put their finger on right yet due to the variation of problems encountered - and that's not to say the island or other addons are at fault

I would suggest keeping your eye on the troubleshooting forums for the moment and/or doing some personal r&d until you get a positive result - the only thing bas can do in the meantime is take bug reports and work on rectifying any problems that may be addon specific

Thats why we can not fix it...

BIS has set up a dedicated Troubleshooting board on this forum for people with problems like yours.

Since WE don't actually know HOW to fix this bug, your best bet is to go and ask on the BIS Troubleshooting board, where one of the BIS Staff, or someone else who has had this bug and fixed it, could shed some light on the issue. Rather than getting all stressy at us, which isnt going to help you in the slightest, as no matter how much you post, we still don't know HOW to fix it....

After the tonal pack installation I have a popup message when I start a mission from the previous pack (rangers,kiowa).

Some mission with the problem:

Kiowa warrior

Ranger extraction

Ranger raiders

Rescue rangers

Intercept

Delta force...

The popup message: "Cannot load mission, missing addons: bas_opfor"

So when I start a mission the popup apear and I clik OK. I can play the mission but no intro cutscene sad_o.gif

Oh I play bas addons in a mod folder with 1.94.

BTW when I play the missions coming with the tonal pack no problem.

I've noticed that the gunner in the Gov BDRM (DSHk) is invisibile at some distances.

Gourka, this is due to the bas_opcpp.pbo not having specified what other addons it depends on. If you have some experience in meddling with addons you can fix it yourself. See my post on page 28 of this thread dealing with (among other things) the requiredAddons property.

Either that, or wait until the good ppl in BAS fixes it.

NB: Of course, putting the addon into the base OperationFlashpoint/AddOns folder hides the bug.

The patch that nagual gave out only fixed some missions, not the bas_opcpp.pbo errors. Or am i missing a second patch?!?

If you are referring to the "Tonal-Tango Pack Patch 1", as posted by Nagual on page 46? (Filename "BAS_TonalTango_Patch1.rar"), then no, it hasn't been fixed.

Again, the particular problem is with in the config.cpp of the bas_opcpp.pbo. The exact "solution" to that bug is in my posting waay back in this thread (page 28), so it should be an easy fix.

The symptoms of that problem are, for example, "missing addons..." messages, linux servers "not working" and mysterious addons automatically adding themselves to missions that don't even use them. Old problem, solution available since 1.85. Properly specifying requiredAddons is paramount. (Also it eliminates a lot of user error reports.)

NB: A lot of addon makers seem to trip on this one. A good way to get aquainted with it is to do two things during addon development and testing:

<ul>

[*] Use mod folders

[*] Test on linux dedicated servers (perhaps using mod folders)

Both are very unforgiving with regards to improper/missing addon dependency declarations... wink_o.gif

I don't know if it would be to difficult to collect all the info, but I should think that you allready have it and that is up to you BAS to release it or not.

I would understand if you guys don't want to share the info with mod folder fanatics biggrin_o.gif no problem, but if you guys can do it it will be very apreciated.
