havocsquad 0 Posted April 2, 2004 Referring to pilot's helmets.... Do current USAF or USN pilot's helmets have kevlar put on them or made like kevlar helmets? Just curious about this since I couldn't find any information about any ballistic or high velocity shrapnel protection info for pilot helmets except for helo helmets for the pilot and crew. miles teg 1 Posted May 3, 2004 Yeah I was wondering the same thing. I'd like to turn the pilot into an Egyptian pilot to stick in a Egyptian Mig-21 I've been working on. But should the pilot be equipped with a CAR-15/M-4? In RL we know that the standard weapon for pilots is the M9, and possibly the Springfield M6 Survival/Scout Rifle, seen here: http://www.milesfortis.com/church/akc13.htm And this weapon hasn't been seen in OFP, BTW. Addon makers take note, and be the first! And a final comment, it's been brought up already, but I thought I'd qualify it... The Oxygen hose is too narrow. Perhaps it might be difficult to do considering the polys involved, but it would look a bit better if it were a little thicker. Thanks for helping to keep it real. Late... I don't want to add extra dependencies or make even an extra weapon for this unit, I have enough projects on my stack  About the hose: I know that it isn't correctly sized, but if I resize the hose, then I have to remake the mask because the mask isn't correct, too. I don't know how often I already changed the mask, and therefore had to change the texture for it. I'll use the time better for creating nice back textures, because right now the back of the pilot looks really bad, the textures are awful! In fact, the pilot is pretty much ready, except some textures; I'll let people decide what they do with this addon, whether they change the textures or the model. Good to know there won't be any assault rifles, anti-tank weapons or automatic grenade launchers in the pilot's survival pack. Narrow hose eh? Hmmmm somehow I think I'll survive. The pilot will not be finished this month, as I'm waiting for some really detailed photos of USAF pilots.
