Heatseeker 0 Posted September 8, 2003 Gees....you mean I only have Doom3, DeusEx2 and Stalker to play in the next year? Bummer Actually i will add Max Payne2, far cry, Splinter Cell pandora tomorrow (with MP) to the list , and ofcourse OPFr with all the new content added by the very creative addon&mission makers, i think i might survive the long wait. AirwolfPL 0 Posted September 8, 2003 Actually it's not as bad news as it seems to be. There are plenty of unfinished projects for OFP:R and plenty of things that haven't been done yet and are possible to do using OFP's engine. I think OFP2 release will cause lack of interest in the addons prepared for original OFP (and even if it will still be possible to use original OFP addons in OFP2 - OFP2's engine improvements and new addons prepared specifically for this engine will be much more attractive to players than 'old' ones). SpecOp9 0 Posted September 8, 2003 Yea it's not bad news to me either. By the end of 2004 I am guessing most mods will be calling it quits with the Original Flashpoint and move onto OFP2. Meaning most mods will be able to get everything they want done b4 the ofp2 release in 2005. Namely the GTA mod.
Postduifje 0 Posted September 8, 2003 Well, I can't be really sad about this. At least they showed some sign of life. Isn't there an English translation of the interview? -Post

canukausiuka 1 Posted September 8, 2003 Yeah, if anyone has an english translation of the interview, I think we'd all like to hear it or maybe not some of us, but I'd still like to know what all it says
Franz_Schall -SWAF- 0 Posted September 8, 2003 At least we have some time now to save money for our forthcoming OFP2-ready PC Let's hope that they implement even half of what has been said in the Suggestions-Forum and everyone will be happy. For the one's who need something to play with: there are other gaming highlights coming soon...

iNeo 0 Posted September 9, 2003 Quote[/b] ]Operation Flashpoint 2 DelayedBohemia's eagerly awaited sequel may not see the light of day until 2005... In a shocking revelation that has sent us all babbling like little babies, it has emerged that Bohemia Interactive eagerly awaited ‘Operation Flashpoint 2’ won’t surface until 2005 at the earliest. The reason behind the delay is believed to be because Bohemia is currently hard at work developing ‘Operation Flashpoint’ for the Xbox and including Xbox Live! functions, which should go some way to making the delay a little easier to swallow. Hopefully the delay will also allow Bohemia to develop a true sequel that pays utmost respect to the groundbreaking original, without worrying too much about time constraints. http://www.totalvideogames.com/?sectio....=000007
Major Gripe 0 Posted September 9, 2003 I wish they would prioritise the PC version, surely the market potential for the PC title is much higher than the XBOX, and nothing motivates games publishers more than extra cash in the bank!! Having said that, using XBOX users to bug test OFP2 so we get a perfect game is a very clever idea!!
Phleep 0 Posted September 10, 2003 Given that the XBox is very similar to a PC, they are optimising the code to work well on a 700MHz processor which should give them sufficient experience to cram all the features of the sequel into a mid range PC without sacrificing too much performance. iNeo 0 Posted September 10, 2003 Will Bis release an advanced demo? that would keep me occupied till 2010 Probably just a few months before the release of the game, or later than that.

-TU--33ker 0 Posted September 11, 2003 I'll wait as long as it takes to make OFP2 a kickass game. But BIS should consider releasing a small patch to update OFP1 next year. It should contain the new units with body armor and M1 helmets from Xbox version!
SnypaUK 0 Posted September 12, 2003 what exactly is an M1 helmet?
ran 0 Posted September 12, 2003 i think seeker is talking about the metallic helmet that came before the "fritz" design like this one : complete webpage about M1 helmet
The Frenchman 0 Posted September 13, 2003 What is the helmet that the BIS West units have now? I agree they need to be changed to M1 helmets though.
Gollum1 0 Posted September 13, 2003 Actually, a small patch would be very welcome. I didn´t think it was necessary before, with just 1 year to wait and all that, but now...I would really like to see some Xbox models!!!!!!!
-TU--33ker 0 Posted September 14, 2003 The US soldiers in OFP are carrying PASGT helmets, but don't have the PASGT frag vests. The new units have vests and the old M1 helmets. And there are new helicopter pilots which look like the okes from SEB Nam Pack. screenshots in these articles
The Frenchman 0 Posted September 14, 2003 I dont see any screens of a guy with a M1 helmet. I like the new pilot model though.
