Assault (CAN) 1 Posted September 3, 2003 I see an upside to this: Just before the asteroid hits, there will be plenty of young girls around who won't want to die as virgins.
PHY_Hawkeye 0 Posted September 3, 2003 Quote[/b] ]“The Near Earth Object will be observable from Earth for the next two months and astronomers will continue to track it over this period,†said Alan Fitzsimmons of Queen’s University in Belfast, one of the astronomers advising the British center. Cool, Doc Fitzsimmons is one of my lecturers! (I study Astrophysics at QUB.) Don't worry guys, the only reason more of these asteriods are being reported is that we have more powerful detection equiptment. Maybe we werebetter off living in ignorance Anyway, fact of the matter is, IF it was on course to take us out, there isn't a whole lot anyone could do about it. Unless someone can get in touch with James Gastovski
DracoPaladore 0 Posted September 3, 2003 I hope someone blames the asteroid for having A, B & C Weaponry so the US declare war on it and wipe it out, and the world shall be safe again  Lets hope they find Harry Stamper in time Quick, Nasa! Build us a drilling ship!

Skul 0 Posted September 3, 2003 I heard about this. But don't worry, the incredibly old geezer, Roger Moore (some might know as the 'Games Master') said the possibilities of it hitting earth are slim... and if a bloke that old said it, then it's gotta be true! Ahem....Patrick Moore...surely? Oh yeah! lol That's who I meant... I thought it looked a bit wrong! kegetys 2 Posted September 3, 2003 Don't worry guys, the only reason more of these asteriods are being reported is that we have more powerful detection equiptment. Like? The means of detecting asteroids still are very very limited, its a very very big space out there and even though there are observatories and things all around the world its not even nearly enough to monitor the surroundings very well. I remember that some time ago there was an asteroid that already went past earth until it was detected, and it went quite close too (in an astronomical sense) Of course, also the chances of an asteroid hitting earth are very very very small, but it has happened and will happen in the future, but again in an astronomical sense so it might be a billion years. Â if there are any...... back on topic: I say we send Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck up there. but this time, leave Ben Affleck instead of Bruce. I'm pretty sure they will think of something before thigs get ever worse.

But don't worry, the incredibly old geezer, Roger Moore (some might know as the 'Games Master') said the possibilities of it hitting earth are slim... and if a bloke that old said it, then it's gotta be true! But seriously... this sucks ass big time... am I gonna die before I really get to live? The world might end... all life might cease to exist... scary thought, isn't it? I don't want to die this young... However: [Gareth Gates must die] Oh ye of little faith. Do you not know who is going to save us all from a firey heckrock? Jonny the OFP messiah! I'm not saying we can see everything coming at us, far from it. All I'm saying is the technology is allot better now that it was 50 years ago. So we see more things like this, and just because we're only seeing them now doesn't mean they wern't always there. The chences are still slim.

Though it's sad that in 2003 we haven't made significant advances in space research since the 70s (I mean things like a small colony in Moon or flight to Mars, that scale). Unfortunately the space race ended and now we have rockets that blow up when on ground and shuttles being destroyed by carelessines (sp?). I surely hope China makes succesful flights into space and that way USA will have a strong competitioner once again .

Warin 0 Posted September 3, 2003 HAHAHA ITS NOT GONNA HIT! http://www.msnbc.com/news/960340.asp?cp1=1 [tinfoil hat] they are just saying that to stifle panic and worry. They have in fact determined that it is going to hit the earth. For the next 11 years, the New World Order will build underground habitats for a sample of humanity that will survive the devastation. Included will be enough biological diversity to repopulate the earth one the dust clouds clear after the asteroid impact [/tinfoil hat]
Drill Sergeant 0 Posted September 3, 2003 Hmm that makes me 26. And just when I was having a good day because I saw a girl I really really like and haven't seen her in a year. Well we could always divert all of our satellites so they would hit the thing and knock it off course. But as for getting the community together that's a definite no no too many people hate other people to do that. That would cause much more damage than the Asteroid. Cool idea but dangerous. Oh I have been alerted it won't hit or atleas not near me if it does. Now back to what I was doing.
