The Frenchman 0 Posted August 31, 2003 I think this game raises some things that OFP2 should have: 1) A more human like AI (Taking cover in houses, random talking etc) 2)Bouncing grenades 3)life like effects (You become blind for a few seconds if you look at a explosions and you have that ringing sound in your ear too.) BTW Regan was the one with the face paint not Spears. And is it just me or does it look like they all had too much coffee (Look at thier eyes, they are bulging out. sanctuary 19 Posted August 31, 2003 The demo was good, alot of action. But I feel somewhat cheesey running through MG fire, taking 12 hits, and being able to jump behind a corner. I would have liked it more as a one-shot kill instead(gives games an edge) It seems that this is related to the difficulty . My first attempt in veteran difficulty ended after 2 minutes of gameplay I was crawling in direction of a bush to have some cover to observe the situation , old OFP reaction (just before entering the field with dead cows where there will be a mortar fire) and from what i thought to be a safe place i saw a machinegunner in the distance (the one in a window at the 2nd floor of a building) that choose to shoot at me (despite the fact there were a lot of my squad teammate running in the open field ) I think i was hit only 2-3 times max and died immediately. That reminded me some bad memories from OFP with the M2 AI that can kill you with accuracy from an awesome distance
Postduifje 0 Posted August 31, 2003 It was fun to play for a while, but much to easy. Did you play at veteran level and make it straight through the first time? No, I didn't. I started easy, and played through it at once. When playing in veteran, it get's better, that's what I meant with: Quote[/b] ]It's better when you put it up though My English vocabulary just isn't extended enough to make myself clear every time  Anyways, I think it's quite fun, but I'm affraid even with the full version that won't last for very long -Post

denoir 0 Posted August 31, 2003 Well, I just tried the demo. It's nice, but that's basically it. It sounds, feels and smells like MOHAA 2. Pure arcade unrealistic action, nice cinematics and nice scripting. This is one of those games that you play once and then never touch it again.
Dewey61 0 Posted August 31, 2003 Yah i just played it. To easy for my liking, fun for that 1 time i played it, even so that i may even buy it and play the single player campaign seeing as it looks to have a good theme. But that will be as far as i take it. Cant wait for Soldner demo.
SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted August 31, 2003 Isn't the rear sight, on the Thompson Submachine gun, alittle inaccurate? If I remember right, the rear sight looked axactly like the front sight, but the rear sight had alittle hole about 2mm in diameter. So you look thru it just like an M16A2 sight. I could be wrong though.

Was a nice change, yet still abit too weird. Especially with the health packs. I'm going to have to agree with Denoir on this one. While I do play the demo, the first time I played it I already felt its uniqueness slip away(I only play it between CM:BO sessions)
Koolkid101 0 Posted August 31, 2003 I could play it a long time if it was moddable.
theavonlady 2 Posted September 1, 2003 I could play it a long time if it was moddable. Well, that's the thing. Once you've played a COD mission, it's replay value is very limited. In order to attain customer's attention, they would need to have an ability to quickly introduce new campaigns, missions and scenery and include a very good mission and object editor. On the other hand, this game also has MP potential, if you can get rid of the health-packs and improve the injury/heal model plus have a great variety of terrains. I think you're nitpicking there... Obviously you've all been playing too much OFP
theavonlady 2 Posted September 1, 2003 2)Bouncing grenades Something even better: COD's AI know how to pick up a grenade thrown at them and toss it back! Wow! How about that in OFP2?!
theavonlady 2 Posted September 1, 2003 BTW Regan was the one with the face paint not Spears. Turns out that the faces appear to be randomly assigned to the AI units. I just had that face come up for someone else. Still don't know what this warpaint is about. Anyone?
Antaris 0 Posted September 1, 2003 Could be some sort of Iroquis (spelling..) warpaint or some sort of american native indian (not as the country india :P) war paint.. that´s my my 5 cents..

theavonlady 2 Posted September 1, 2003 Or it could just be a lil joke the developers played on us to make us ask ourselves this question   I'm beginning to think that's what it is. They've got a sense of humor. In the last shootout, I drew heavy gunfire to my position, also occupied by a GI AI next to me leaning over and taking pot shots. At some point, it was too much for him. He said "it's all yours" and ran to find another position.
Kings Crown 0 Posted September 1, 2003 I only can say, really nice game , I will buy it... I think this is better then MOHAA or similar games. It has a place on my buy list!

They up sticks and move somewhere else so you can have their position.
